A very quirky instagrammable space for food and drink, however the lobster I ordered it wasn't much for the price

Definitely recommend this new place!! The guy from Yorkshire who served us was so friendly and funny! The food was really high quality and great drinks selection. I feel like the portions didn't need to be as large as they were but this is not a complaint.... we just couldn't manage it all and I don't like wasting food. Will come back!

Went for a family visit to check out Aruna after it's move across town where it used to be Trap Food House. Was not disappointed. The food was excellent as was the service and we were all very impressed with the interior of the restaurant. The wine list is also very good. We're all looking forward to going back.

New eatery on the Quayside. Food was incredible, not cheap but worth it, you definitely get what you pay for. Our cocktails were perfect, couldn't fault the food and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Decor is stunning, plenty of old features (mosaic floors, brick walls) which have been thoughtfully complemented by modern touches. Will definitely be back.

Choosing somewhere to dine in Newcastle can be a bit hit and miss and I think sometimes we tend to just go for ‘the usual’ but I’m so glad we decided to try The Aruna which is centrally located on the Quayside. Stepping inside from a dismal wet afternoon our mood brightened once we were in this restaurant which has a modern contemporary, yet intimate feel. We were unsure what to try from the menu which has an American southern state twist which includes seafood, steaks and burgers. We opted for the tacos which were excellent. The service was friendly and we learned from Sany, the manager that a more extensive menu is planned along with live music. The restaurant is on two floors and looks like an ideal place for larger group bookings too. Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back soon! Tony & Maureen

Came in for lunch today with the wife. My goodness was blown away with the place. Attention to details and the food was fabulous. This place gives you everything your looking for from the service to the food and the ambience it’s a total package. I have been dining in places for a long long time. I don’t usually bother to write to reviews but when the places like this comes across. It twist my arms to write a review. The one thing I should try the tea pot cocktail they are out of these world. The tacos are to die for and the Aruna burger it’s delicious and well presented. So keep up the work guys and a big thank you to the Manager who took he’s time to tell us the story behind this concept. It was nice meeting with him and the chef . Thank you Sany & Afrim 🙏🏾 see you guys soon!

We enjoyed the set menu plus some dishes from the lunch menu. Particularly enjoyed the mackerel and the chocolate mousse. Great seasoning too throughout. Would recommend.

My husband chose Nest for my birthday. We had Sunday lunch and found the choices excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were attentive, but not overbearing. The roast beef was fabulous. This was the best Sunday lunch out we have ever eaten. We will be back!

It was my birthday on Sunday. A late Sunday lunch with family was such a good idea. Roast pork had sounded so appealing, especially considering that living alone nowadays means that traditional Sunday dinner no longer happens at home. Plus points: an amazing building, a warm welcome and most pleasant staff. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the meal was awful because of soggy crackling, hard and shrunken roast potatoes, one piece of carrot (!), cold greens and lukewarm watery gravy. And, I didn't like the block of stuffing, which, by the way, was also cold. In addition, we waited an hour for the main course to arrive. A disappointed customer.
