A very relaxed and delicious lunch with a friend. Would definitely return. Service couldn't have been better

I’ve been to Nest twice for the tasting menu. Both times the service and atmosphere have been 10/10. 12 months ago the food was also a solid 10/10, however this time (last night) we have left quite disappointed. The portions were noticeably a lot smaller and definitely ‘fancier’ in some respect. I raved to a lot of people the first time I went about how you leave full and get to enjoy a smaller tasting menu of larger portions. This time, we left not very full at all. If the portions are going to be so much smaller, they need to increase the amount of plates on the menu. I still think it’s worth a try, and hopefully this is just one experience of a bad menu.

Finest ingredients, well cooked and great service.

We visited ‘nest’ for my brothers 40th birthday. The food was out of this world, the staff were so accommodating and did everything they could to make it a special Occasion. Overall a fab experience and we will be back. Oh and we loved the two cocktail bars that were linked with nest. Thank you

We had the veggie/pesci tasting menu. Mostly very good. For me....some of the querkier options didn’t really work. Nice atmosphere & attentive team. Good....but not blown away.

Wow wow wow! The food here was utterly incredible! We went for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed! Fab staff, very friendly! Look forward to the menu changing to come back again!

Food was tasty, the lamb was the star of the show. Did think it was a bit expensive, the price that is on the menu when you get there is more than the amount on the email that is sent with the reminder on, but it is Michelin star, so you expect it to cost a lot. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, interior is very sophisticated, they’ve put effort into how everything looks. Enjoyable experience.

Waited 3 months for this Sunday dinner and it was fab. Shared both a fish cake and chicken starter. Tandoori chicken was to die for! Main was delicious, only slight issue was the beef was tough in parts. My partners lamb fell apart. Dessert is probably one of the best I’ve ever had! Lady who served was attentive and very friendly. Would love to try the tasting menu one day.

For someone who usually doesn't go for tasting menus I have had a change of heart after visiting Nest! The quality and taste of the food exceeded my expectations, the dishes were well constructed and full of flavour. Full by the end of it! Worth the money at the end of the day considering the quality of the ingredients and time/effort put into them. Looking forward to seeing what next season's menu will contain!

My daughter booked lunch for my birthday for 3 of us, we had the tasting menu, daughter is allergic to fish and her alternative was perfect, actually it was all perfect, every single course, very imaginative and the menu is great, very well thought out. Its difficult to pick a favourite as honestly all courses were outstanding, but I think the desert was marginally the best, it was a scrummy egg sat in an edible nest. Service was great, luckily for us it wasnt too busy as it was a friday but I have a feeling, with the quality of the food, this wont be quiet for long. Would love to try sunday dinner as I have heard its amazing but we are not organised enough to book in advance and its always chocca. Great chefs, great venue, great meal, great waitress and food describer. Oh and the cheeseboard was lovely, love frozen grapes.

We went for our anniversary been waiting for 6 months, I’d really love to give 5 stars but the atmosphere and experience was completely ruined our anniversary for us. We are foodies which is why we were desperate to try it. However the table of 5 in the middle of the floor were so loud all night we couldn’t even hear what the waiters were saying when they were putting the courses down and explaining what we had in front of us. We did point this out to the staff and Olivia the manager they gave us discount we didn’t want discount we just wanted our anniversary to be special. We wanted to stay for a cheeseboard and coffees but couldn’t stand it any long so left straight after the last course along with the other table next to us. What a shame, I was looking to book again for Sunday dinner and for the next menu change however I couldn’t justify and possibly having that happen again so I’ve stopped looking. Such a shame, for my the chefs spend all that time designing a menu for you to enjoy if your not interested and just want a laugh with friend and food then go to a non fine dinning restaurant. Shame shame

Great menu thats all edible and filling. I say that because many higher end taster menu's are the opposite. Everything came out on time, beautifully cooked and presented. Heaton was never like this when i grew up here ! Top class.

We had a table for 4 booked last Saturday. I would have given it 5 stars but my reason will be apparent later. We arrived promptly at 7pm and ordered a drink We were all doing the tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was superb, the service was very good and the explanation about the food and the accompanying wine were very detailed. My personal favourites were the lamb kofta dish and the beef dish. My one criticism was the speed at which everything was served. It was far too quick and we were paying our bill at 9:20pm . 8 courses in around 2 hours !!!. We should been there for at least 3 hours . A great experience however I think I will stick to their bistro menu in the future

Some amazing dishes, with great use of local ingredients in an innovative and wide ranging menu. For me, some of the dishes could have been more punchy, as the side flavour sometimes became too dominant in the dish. Amazing staff made the night really enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing how the menu shifts over the seasons.

Curated fine dining menu that isn't too fancy. May menu was curated fanatical with every dish being a treat elevated even further with the drinks pairing. Great knowledge from our server who didn't make me feel out if place despite being a novice with my knowledge of wines and some of the food. Special mention the the You'll Do Nuttin cocktail that was a treat.

This restaurant is the gem of this city! Never had such a great dinner and such a great experience in such an affordable way. Even if the menu onsite was different than the one shown on the website, we were greeted with wonderful surprises. I’m unable to tell you which course was my favourite one but I’m certain to go back before this menu vanishes from sight! The staff is also wonderful, friendly and working in such synchrony, the timing between dishes was perfect and so much so that we didn’t feel the lack of bread and butter as you usually have in such restaurants. I greatly recommend it for special occasions!!

Wow!!! We were there for the lunch tasting menu last Saturday with our daughter and son in law. The food and wine were so good and i really enjoyed every course. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the ambience in the restaurant was incredible. I would recommend Nest to anyone. Thank you

Casual dining with great flavours. Friendly and Attentive Staff. Had the tasting menu and Sunday lunch, they were both amazing.

Me and my partner had Sunday roast and both agreed it was one of the best Sunday roasts we have ever eaten. The drinks were also nice, both alcoholic and soft. Both of our soft drink glasses were not clean. I believe that they had been cleaned poorly and were covered in fluff from the cleaning cloth and fingerprints from the cleaner. Our table was very wobbly, the lovely waitress did try to fix it, but this should be sorted for future customers (table 1 I believe) It was a long 3 month wait for Sunday lunch, the food was definitely worth the wait! There are just a few things which need brushing up on as mentioned above....

Just been here for a little celebratory meal with my friend (promotions and birthdays) and cannot find a single fault. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, the service impeccable and the food and wine amazing. Want to come back asap

Lovely Sunday Lunch at Nest today x amazing lamb and pork meals with a great selection of fresh vegetables followed by desserts, apple and prune crumble was particularly good. Two by Two draught lager was a pleasant surprise, atmosphere was informal and relaxed with excellent service and friendly staff. Looking forward to a return visit soon x

We recently enjoyed the vegetarian tasting menu and what a treat!! Delicious, clever, great looking food. Where there’s a dill there’s a way, in particular, was special. Very tasty drinks pairing and knowledgeable staff. This is an intimate venue with a really enjoyable vibe. Looking forward to returning soon.

Friends have been urging me to visit Nest for a long while and now I understand why. They serve outstanding food, have a good selection of drinks and service is excellent. The balance is spot on. It's quite a compact restaurant, so well worth reserving well ahead of a visit. I ate Sunday lunch and enjoyed the experience. Ultimately, I thought it was a fine example of a hospitality business that has got what it does and how it goes about doing it nailed.

Yet again team at Nest deliver! This really is the best Sunday lunch. The consistency of this team on all levels is unbelievable. I’ve never had a bad or below excellent time here - food, service, atmosphere. Just brilliant. Sorry no photos but I can tell you every plate was cleared!

The Sunday lunch was amazing, and service was excellent!

We had such an amazing experience. Each tasting session was divine and each meal so delicious. The customer service was fabulous too.

Went tonight to try Nest's new Bistro Nights - 3 course menu selection instead of their normal tasting menu. Each dish was superb - excellent flavours, lovely presentation, and the ideal amount of food to have all 3 courses. It was delicious and well priced - 10/10, definitely book!

Waited a long time to get booked on a Sunday. Heard lots of really good feedback about this place and It did not disappoint. A big thumbs up, hope the next wait is not as long

We both absolutely loved the whole night! 8 Courses, for tasting menu, we finished everything. Perfect sizes of food portions. Small cosy restaurant where everyone is fed together. The Chefs did a fantastic job of presenting the food, all courses were delicious, and served hot. The table staff were pleasant, friendly and polite. Wrong drink brought, but quickly swapped for the one I asked for, when highlighted. The monkfish and pork were my favourites on the night, while the other half loved the sea trout and the "egg" dessert. Toilets were ample big enough, well done out and clean. Posh hand soap and lotion for the ladies 😁 Advise booking well in advance for a table if it's a special occasion. The only complaint we had were staffs bottoms in our faces when they were waiting on the tables next to us so they could maybe lose the middle table in the window, but apart from that, we know which table to avoid when we return again when baked alaska is next on the menu.

Our first visit here and it won't be our last. Food was outstanding. Service was a bit mixed with the waiter serving between tables and very close to knocking stuff over on our table. Waitress didn't seem to have this problem.

We have just spent what can only be described as a perfect evening celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary at Nest. The food was as you would expect with a 5 month waiting list for a table nothing short of superb. To chose a favourite dish would be like trying to choose a favourite child - just impossible, every one was loved equally. The service from Josh & Tom was seamless but most importantly informative and very friendly. Booked again for November now for the wife’s birthday and it can’t come soon enough. Thank you to all the team at Nest.

We went for lunch tasting menu, vegetarian. Very good selection of vegetarian dishes nicely presented and delicious to eat. Loved the red pesto that came with focaccia bread. Very friendly staff.

We went for the lunch tasting menu while visiting from the USA It was tasty and very reasonably priced! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I would give was a lot of the dishes had a similar texture.

There’s a waiting list for Sunday lunch - and it’s obvious why you have to book so far in advance. Great food, pork was superb (and the cracking was spot on 🐷). Great value, good drinks menu and top staff.

Just home after experiencing the best meal we have ever had. Last year we had the ten course tasting menu at the Shaun Rankin Restaurant at Grantley Hall. The Nest experience was far superior in every way and very good value for money. A beautiful meal in relaxed surroundings and excellent service from friendly and very knowledgeable staff.

Perfection. The environment, the staff, the food - superlative. I have never enjoyed such different, creative and delicious food. Wonderful vegetarian lunch. Staff, from chef through to all the others were immaculate. If you gat an opportunity - take it - for an experience you will find hard to match

Well fed and looked after. We've been four times now. Twice for Sunday lunch, once for Lunch and once for the full tasting menu and wineflight. My wife says the prawn cocktail is the best she has ever had. Im a huge fan of the Yorkshires, the sticky stout pudding and pretty much everything else. Ive just remembered the cheese board! The tasting menu is exceptional. Normally, I wouldn't eat trout, if you paid me, but, here its a pink prawn like, gentle flavour, with a crispy skin, filleted to perfection. I learned loads about wine and the cheeky raspberry beer at the end has turned my wife into a belgian real ale disciple. The place is almost rocking by the end of the night, as everyone comes to the same conclusion, that they may have just had one of the best meals of their life. The service is so inobtrusive and swift, you go to pour yourself a drink and its already been done and you hadn't noticed. We are booked in again for our wedding anniversary and really looking forward to being back.

Ver good service but in my opinion the tasting menu is very overpriced for the taste of the food. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but the price did not match my expectations. Just a bit over average but very good alternative in a street full of take aways. We want more places like this in Heaton!

Fantastic quality food with wonderful flavours.

Very good value for money for a tasting menu! We had a nice Saturday dinner here with attentive, friendly service and tasty, inventive dishes. They got the decor and ambiance just right, it’s cosy but modern and feels very inviting. The 8 course tasting menu was extremely generous, maybe too much, we were absolutely stuffed to the brim by the end of the meal. The bass took the top spot for us, it was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with a vegetable hash and cauliflower purée. But not everything hit the mark. The lamb keema was over seasoned for me with a taste of clove overpowering everything else. The dishes all come out all at the same time which we weren’t expecting. It takes a bit away from the individual service experience and we didn’t have the dishes explained in detail like we’ve at other restaurants with tasting menus. Overall, the food was really tasty and lived up to the reviews and long-lead time for booking a table. I’d recommend it but come with a big appetite!

I can't speak highly enough of this place. It is small but perfectly formed with food and service to rival any restaurant I have ever been to. Exceptional standards of service couple with a creative and delicious menu male it a local hero for me! Just wish it wasn't fully booked for months in advance but I can absolutely understand why it is. Proper gem!!!

Super tasty and some of the best service I've had in years. Many places could learn from the service here. Tap water without asking. On the ball with clearing, delivering, asking if everything's ok/if we want owt. Bringing sauces with them to ask if we want sauces rather than disappear after asking to get them and possibly never return. Not having to wait for the bill. Brilliant. Fantastic. Great. Did I mention it's also super tasty? 🤤 Definitely will return.

Quite simply the best dining experience I've had all year. Service was impeccable, food fresh clean and inventive. Quite clearly an exceptional team. Blown away.

Overrated Tasting menu dishes were really good for the most part, but my meat was overcooked and both desserts were underwhelming. I really don't recommend the wine pairing, too expensive and not great in all honesty. I must say service was excellent, but overall I don't understand why it is so popular. 2.5/5

The evening taster meal is a very enjoyable experience, we went for a half measure of the wine pairing 👍. The afternoon menu is also very good. Only negative is getting booked in and having to pay £10 per head in advance.

there's a reason nest is booked up way in advance and that's because it's an absolute golden ticket of a visit - let me tell you it's worth the wait! an absolutely incredible evening from start to finish. the staff are so friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is divine. i'm not someone who would usually go for the fine dining experience, and there's always the worry when you're not used to experiences like this that you'll feel out of place but this truly is fine dining that makes everyone feel welcome. can't thank the whole team enough for such a memorable evening and the most beautiful food.

Underwhelming experience having been super excited to try Nest from all the amazing reviews online. We booked the evening tasting menu for my mum's birthday celebrations and had the April menu. Venue is cute with lots of next related theming which didn't just stop at the restaurant floor but continued into the restrooms. They also have blackout curtains that come down which I thought was a nice touch to the interiors. Parking around the restaurant is also easy and mostly free. We did not opt for the wine pairing as they were wine glasses which was way too much alcohol for me personally as supposed to small tasting flights. Many of the other tables ended up having 2/3 glasses on their tables as the wines were served with the accompanying course. Each course is cooked together and served to the whole restaurant which meant that you could not eat to your own timings but had to wait on the timings of the other diners. Food was nice but wasn't as innovative as expected. Some of the dishes were warm and felt like they'd been sat waiting for a while before being served. Really enjoyed the Thai fish and chips but the two desserts were my favourite dishes - a banoffee flavoured shortbread and popcorn combo and the rhubarb pannacotta. Meat portions really varied in size and when we looked to the table next to us theirs were twice the size! A few of our dishes were served by the chef who was a delight to speak to whereas the floor staff on the other hand were not very engaging or enthusiastic. Overall, the venue is quite amplifying and we had to shout across the table to hear each other over the music and the other diners. Disappointing evening overall as everything was average or maybe my expectations were set too high having read all the exceptional reviews about Nest. On an additional note, I recieved an email one week before our reservation asking for a deposit for the booking which we were not expecting which came in the form of a very spammy looking email which had a time limit of '157 hours to pay your deposit'. I understand that many restaurants have to do this due to no shows but this has always been taken on booking and not via random email. If this is a new policy then courtesy phone call to all pre bookings would have been nicer from the team since there's only around 10 tables per night.

Fantastic food and service although the background music was too loud, difficult to have a conversation. Expensive drinks £6 for small bottle of alcohol free beer. But overall a really good night.

We called in for a quick coffee with daughter and 13 mth old grandson. 3 coffees and light lunches later we will visit when next in Heaton. The staff were lovely, both in the open kitchen and serving us, very patient with our grandson, nothing too much trouble. The food was very fresh and cooked to perfection The whole ambience of this small eating establishment was very intimate and relaxing, everything very clean and modern, including the toilets. The use of trees in the floor to ceiling windows works brilliantly.

Absolutely outstanding!! The best 3 course Sunday lunch ever. The staff are so attentive & helpful & the place is so homely and comfortable, fabulous ambiance. We’ve been lucky enough to get booked in for the tasting menu next week too…can’t wait to return! 10 out of 10 for nest! Really talented chefs! Perfection!

Booked into nest for dinner to sample the tasting menu. Let's start there it was to put it lightly 7 courses of heaven paired with exquisite wine choices. The service from the staff, matched there passion for the food and wine. This venue is worth every single penny spent. If you want to experience culinary witchcraft to spellbind the mind and taste buds. Then nest is your place to dine. Magnificent.

What a fabulous experience, tasting menu and wine flight fantastic. The pescatarians in the party were equally happy. Front of house service was pleasant and efficient. Jack's spiel re the wines was very informative and seemed fresh/spontaneous..clever given he had to repeat it for a number of tables. The food was gorgeous..too many highlights to single them out..look on the website then book and enjoy..we did!

Without any shadow of a doubt the best night we have had in a long time. The dining experience and ambience was wonderfully intimate yet friendly and you got the feeling that everyone was united in this cocoon of magnificence, sharing the culinary delights and soaking up the atmosphere. This was compounded by the hospitality from Jack Brown and his front of house staff which was second to none! Knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and nothing was a problem, you cannot feel this at home unless your in your own living room! The food was remarkable, with every component doing exactly what it should on a fine dining menu. Notes of smoked garlic and subtle use of truffle where necessary and perfectly cooked proteins, the fish literally glistening and the venison being so tender it melts in your mouth. I cannt even attempt to put into words how perfect this tasting menu was, and paired with the wine was more of a journey through Italy through all the seasons as the night rolled on. I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to dine here, extremely fortunate indeed but mark my words this is a must place to visit in 2022. Utterly wonderful.
