I recently visited Côte and had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious English breakfast. The food was perfectly prepared, with each element cooked to perfection, from the crispy bacon to the creamy scrambled eggs. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy yet vibrant ambiance that made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall charm of the place. Whether you’re looking for a hearty breakfast or a spot to relax and soak in a great vibe, Côte is an excellent choice. Highly recommend!

I had to wait 20 minutes while the restaurant wasn’t busy at all, the waitress gets telling me to wait and people were coming after me and she made them wait for like two minutes and then give them a table, it was pure racism

Fabulous breakfast. So good I went 2 days in a row. The French toast stack was a must have and melted in the mouth. The eggs Benedict were also superb.

Had a simply perfect lunch here today. Food was delicious (shared baguette followed by salmon berenaise for me and salad maison for my friend) both of us cleared our plates. And the desserts finished the meals off perfectly. Can I also add the service was just right, attentive when required, we sat and gabbed for 3 and a half hours and there was no push for us to leave. Can't wait to return.

The food was very good, quite authentic. My dishes were lovely, my wife thought hers was not as fresh as she would expect. The ambience was not great but we were the last people in at the end of the night. The staff were friendly and lovely. I can particularly recommend the cheese option for dessert and the Duck a’orange was delicious.

I took my 96 year old mum as a treat for my birthday. She was treated like a Star. Very impressed.

Visited early evening on a Saturday, great atmosphere in the restaurant, we were in time for the fixed price menu, Various dishes ordered between the four of us, all cooked perfectly and well presented, we couldn’t fault it, Service was friendly and efficient, we’ll definitely return again

Both Alex and Aga were amazing, the food aas spot on and the service was even better, i would recommend anyone to go there for any special occasion or even for dinner

It was a cold wet day and the restaurant was very busy . Despite this the service was exceptional and the food was quickly served and was hot and tasty. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant and we were made to feel very welcome . Nothing was too much trouble.

I’ve had mixed experiences at Côte in Newcastle upon Tyne, specifically with their outdoor seating. While we’ve never had a problem sitting inside, the outdoor seating seems to depend entirely on the mood of the employee on duty. Sometimes, they tell us that outside seating needs a reservation, and other times they say no reservation is required. Yet when we arrive, even if there are other tables seated outside, they often refuse to let us sit there. This inconsistency is frustrating, and it’s disappointing to be told different things each time we visit. A clear policy would make things much easier for customers. While the food and indoor experience are great, the way the outdoor seating is managed leaves a lot to be desired.

Always a nice place to go with friends or family.

Superb place a return visit, attentive staff and wonderful food. No issue with us conducting a long lunch meeting.

A pity that many items on the menu were not available

Really impressed with this establishment, restaurant chains can be hit and miss and really dependant on the staff. The food here is faultless and full of flavour, the waiters and waitresses were all super friendly and enthusiastic and best of all you could just about hear the roar of the toon army when a goal was scored. We will definitely return when back in Newcastle

Thoroughly enjoyed. Only downside was the little dry and bland scrambled eggs on my breakfast as if it had stood under heat lights. Other than that the food was excellent, esp the French onion soup which was delicious. Great coffee. Friendly staff. Cheers

Had breakfast here with my son before catching my train. The gluten free French breakfast, it was very nice, I was especially happy with gf black pudding, not had it for years. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing food, friendly staff, cocktails excellent. The Bloody Mary was awesome and the Moules Frite staggering. Highly Recommended

Our server was really lovely and very attentive I believe she was front of house. She said she hadn't lived in the area long but was very helpful and was recommending places to go for cocktails and things to see over our two night stay. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but she was lovely and a credit to your restaurant.

It's very nice for somewhere different with good menu, but it doesn't really change so usually have the same thing each time. White wine is great.

Amazing experience, service was the pinnacle of things to savour! Came here after the Great North Run and the waiters were all super friendly and provided a complimentary drinks without me asking. The A La Carte menu was great and definitely did itself justice in replicating a french cuisine standard. 4.5/5

What a wonderful Cote! It was a really lovely, relaxing evening with the usual delicious food and wine, with the addition of attentive and friendly staff, and beautiful interior. I'll definitely go again the next time I visit Newcastle.

A French restaurant where I only ate desserts: the cream caramel 🍮 and the creme brulee are amazing, very delicious. The service is excellent. The staff are very nice.

Visited after a you tube review What can I say but expensive and basic Staff prefer to talk to them self, service slow, managed to order a second drink when mains served . The food The scallop starter scallops had been cooked and cut in half to increase presence on plate . No sear to bottom of each small scallop in my photos . The crab starter tasted more like tuna mayo and I would guess is delivered pre portioned. Nothing seasoned Mains The duck , bland and tasteless , like a weatherspoons bagged item The beef , just boring nothing special at all and again tastes like micro bags Staff slow and spend more time talking to them self , the only time they spoke was when the card machine and 10% included tip was about . Try a local French place before this . Don’t be fooled by you tube like us .

The super team at Cote yesterday were understanding and helpful with our hot, cross baby yesterday, moving us somewhere quiet and cool where her Mum could enjoy her meal. Food as ever was delicious and great value. Special thanks to the lovely manager who went above and beyond to ensure we had a super lunch.

Food is always delicious here, but just wanted to praise the service. I was there with my baby today, who was hot and bothered and wouldn't feed. I think it was a manager who helped me out. She tried to make the table more comfortable for us, and when she still wouldn't settle, she moved us into the other side of the restaurant where it was empty and quiet. I was so grateful. She was wonderful.

We tried Côte for the first time during restaurant week and had a fantastic experience! The service and food were both brilliant. We had the soup, salad, steak, and creme caramel; some of the best either of us have had. Highly recommend, will be returning!

Lovely menu - great quality salad, chicken in mushroom sauce, and the creme caramel is divine. Lots of bread n olives too, attentive service, delish!

We decided to try this restaurant prior to going to the theatre. The service was warm and efficient. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. We were seated at a comfortable little table in an alcove. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. I would recommend and would visit again if in Newcastle, or would try another one of their branches.

Brilliant food and even better service. Staff can't do enough for you. Would highly recommend. The staff really make this place...they are engaged, attentive, friendly and helpful.

I had an amazing experience at Côte. It was my first time trying french cuisine and the food exceeded my expectations! Everything was Fresh & delicious! The staff were friendly yet professional. When I try to enter the café, a young man is cleaning the glass from the inside. I stop and wait for him to pause. He just continues scrubbing and ignores me the way I’m standing half a meter in front of him. Finally I opened the door Nonetheless and greet him. No answer. This could be a nice place but the service is very uneven. The other strange thing is they have a breakfast deal with a heartbreak, the hot drink, and the juice. But I ordered a hot breakfast and coffee. The stuff did not hint at that deal. So you have to ask explicitly to get a juice otherwise you may end up paying more for two things than you would for three I think it would be natural that the staff makes you about the deal and that in no case you should pay more then the fix price. To admit this, it certainly not committed service. Food wise my breakfast was very decent and the coffee excellent.

Dreadful moules main course, had to send it back

I was fortunate enough to have my mother and boyfriend invite me for dinner at Côte; the former of whom is a beacon of aspiration, and the latter who is a Casanovian stallion of machismatic perfection. I had, for some few months previous, had my stalwart heart set on the much-adored cheese soufflé, and dined as such, to begin. Such a perfect start to a beautiful evening. Accompanied by the light and playful nuances that only a charming Chardonnay can delight, your Breton fish stew brought a cacophony of maritime flavours to steer our courses and tantalise my saline-starved palate. To bring this romantic symphony to a perfectly cadenced crescendo was the crème caramel royale, bringing together a showcase of sweet and savoury coupled with a tasteful ‘Happy Birthday’ in chocolate dusting, that truly made the evening. Côte has always been dear to me, a favourite in the city I have loved as much as I have respected. Following this birthday meal, however, I have found that the favourite book on my shelf that Côte is, has had an inscription in all along.

Love it, always a nice spot to catch up with friends and enjoy consistently great food.

Had a few starter not much there and very basic . The staff were excellent . All in all had a good day ....

A group of 8 of us had a meal and generally enjoyed it. The food is ok, not exceptional and the price is quite high if you stray from the special deal menu. Nice wine selection and friendly staff.

Glassware on our table had splashes of what looked like gravy on it. The restaurant only take card payments, which isn’t an issue, but we didn’t realise when visiting and weren’t told when greeted or being seated. We asked for the bill, put down cash, stayed for another 5-10 minutes chatting (where the staff had plenty of time to come over with a card machine or at least just come over and let us know that they didn’t take cash, instead no one came over and just looked awkwardly from a distance), we got up to leave and a member of staff jumped in front of us to tell us we can’t pay with cash. Again, this isn’t an issue, but the way it was handled and the attitude of the staff member was dreadful. Instead of approaching us while still sat at our table to let us know we had to use card, the staff member waited to make a scene in the middle of the restaurant, and was rude, arrogant and very condescending. His attitude was just completley unnecessary, and completely ruined the experience. Food was alright but honestly nothing exciting and super overpriced.

Booked our favourite restaurant for our anniversary meal. We were looked after by the lovely staff from the minute we sat down. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine menu helping choose a lovely bottle of red. The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere relaxed. Definitely be back for another visit

Really good food and at a reasonable price for the quality. Service was very friendly. If you get the half chicken I would recommend getting the Diane sauce with it. Pork Belly was tasty too. The only fault I could find with it was that you don't get much bread with the parfait/pate starter so we had to order extra bread to go with it.

Both set and a-la-carte appeared good. My friend had set and I chose from the latter. Both excellent meals and wine was very good too.

Literally the worst cup of coffee I’ve had in the UK. Tasteless latte, water-thin oat milk so bad I asked for an Americano black, which tasted like stale instant coffee. Service was lovely, main course (fish) was fine, but not extraordinary. It’s a chain that clearly has watered down any devotion to quality, while still prioritizing high prices. Faux French flair belied even by the mistaken “monsieurS” instead of “messieurs” on the loo door

Visited Newcastle today, not been since Covid, and stumbled on this restaurant and so glad we did. Fabulous food, excellent service, really nice atmosphere and competitive prices. Would highly recommend.

We had a great lunch. Good good and great cocktails. Loved the fix price menu.

We called in on spec on a Tuesday around 6pm. The restaurant was empty but we were told that all tables were fully booked. Very disappointed and went away wondering if the restaurant only took bookings for a certain number of covers. Hard to believe it was fully booked but hey ho that's life I suppose.

Excellent place to visit before going to the theater. Easily accessible,spacious and prompt efficient service.

Fantastic food, excellent service. We try to get here at least once a month. Would be more often, but live 2 hours away by bus. Staff are brilliant.

My sister an I came today to celebrate my birthday . From being greeted on entering, the service could not have been better. Beth looked after us. Being attentive but not overbearing. The drinks and food were absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere was lovely. We had a lovely time. It was made even more special when my desert came with 'happy birthday ' written in chocolate. What's not to love. Can't wait to come back !

Côte Brasserie is a definite go to in Newcastle for my wife and I. It is always a place that offers great service, with excellent food and drink. Always a wonderful experience.

We enjoyed our celebratory dinner after finishing Hadrian’s Wall walk. We had the charcuterie board, steak frites , scallops and Paris Brest and crème caramel. All were served in a leisurely manner and David took great care of us. Highly recommended.

A wonderful place to dine. The staff are amazing & the food is delicious. After recently reconnecting with a friend I hadn’t seen for 48 years, we choose this particular restaurant today to meet for lunch & celebrate in style. Lovely food although the fish pie was only pub grub. However the Breton chicken, Breton fish stew, lamb rump and chacuterie starter were great. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Our go-to restaurant for great occasions, even for meals that are just standard, regular, not-special meet-ups with friends, the family or an individual as they always become special because of the staff, nice food, atmosphere and the fact that Cote gives us the nearest experience of a quick trip to Paris for a meal in a typical brasserie. So many special occasions result from what starts as a routine decision to meet up here. The staff are simply great, always friendly, smiley, welcoming and ready to help out in whatever way they can. Top-notch, memorable experiences at everyday prices, too.

Took our friends out as it was my friends husbands birthday. We all enjoyed our meal. Our friends really enjoyed the restaurant and commented on the good, friendly atmosphere and friendly waitress. The food was perfection. We will all be back very soon and will be recommend this restaurant to others.

My daughter and her fiance took me there the night before Mother's Day. The waiting staff were brilliant, really looked after us, and the food was lovely. Enjoyed every minute.

Having been to Newcastle Cote twice now, and with another date booked, I can only compliment the restaurant on the excellent food and service. The ' Prix' or set menu is excellent value with a good selection of choices.
