Really bad coffee. Bought two. Both terrible. One of them scolding hot as the barista was texting on her mobile while making the coffee(!) Shocking quality and service for the price. Feeling pretty ripped off!

Today I was at Costa at 18.36. A customer had dropped her drink and asked staff for some paper towels to clean up, they gave her blue roll never offered to help (not busy 4 members of staff stood chatting). After watching this woman trying to clean it up and deal with her children... she managed to clean most up but floor was really wet, staff still just stood chatting. Mothers walking around with baby's, elderly walking around staff watching but not offering any help. I watched this for a whole 5 mins, I decided to walk over and suggest wet floor signs, cleaning it. One of the girls actually rolled her eyes at me! However two went to get wet floor signs, though showed no signs of cleaning it properly. I suggest staff in Costa do a health and safety course on slip trips and falls, should there be an accident you are liable for this. Total incompetence!!!!!!

Coffee always great at Costa, but the 1-star is for the attitude of a member of staff (Nik, Eastern European accent). Upon joining the queue for the till, he became VERY stroppy because the queue was 'not in the middle' to quote him. This led to him raising his voice to almost shouting, eye rolling, calling us queueing customers stupid and visibly making sly and snarky comments to other colleagues nearby. At no point did he apologies for the way the way he was communicating, even after a few minutes passed. Quite shocking and needless to say his attitude was absolutely appalling, hence making the time to write this review.

Myself and friends made a quick stop here for drinks and once our coffees were handed to us a couple of us wanted a drop more milk. The milk was on the counter next to us, so we poured ourselves a little extra. Suddenly, a chap rushed around the counter and grabbed the milk roughly from our hands and said very loudly that we were not to help ourselves. He put the milk down very roughly and stormed off. We were flabbergasted. I asked for his name but he refused to give it initially, after awhile he did give me his name....or a name which I have and will complain to Costa Head Office. When we sat down, my other friend said this same chap had just been rude to him too!

Always like the strength of Costa Coffee & this outlet at Chieveley didn’t disappoint. However what did disappoint is the usual waiting time for service & messy tables.

Ok it’s at a service station but the brand is seriously compromised by the quality of the coffee served. I had a latte and my wife had a cappuccino. Both weak and virtually tasteless. And over £3 each.

This Costa is located at the service area, just off the A34. Perhaps that explains the quality issue - but it SHOULDN'T! The place is as pleasant as one can expect at a service area. Overall, it was clean and inviting (though several tables had not been cleared). The service was as good as most similar outlet chains (ie, slow, but no worse than normal at such places). My wife pronounced her tea to be good (though she still thought it expensive for a teabag on a string in a teapot and some boiling water). On the other hand, my mocha was the worst I've ever been served. Very watery, little taste of either coffee or chocolate.

Disappointing to be served very weak and watrey coffee considering the premium prices charged. Not altogether unexpected which was why I tasted the coffee before leaving the counter as this is frequently a problem at Costas and especially at motorway service areas where, maybe, there is more reliance on "passing trade" and less regular customers. It is not clear what the motivation of the staff could possibly be to serve weak coffee - a question that Costa management staff might like to take the time to address noting that this does not seem to be a recurrent problem I have experienced at Starbucks, Cafe Neros etc? Hopefully, Costa management can address and solve this issue as otherwise their locations are first class generally and they seem to be, IMHO, ahead of their competition on the choice, quality and freshness of their food and snack offerings. Just ahead of Cafe Nero and, sadly, some way ahead of my longtime former favourite Starbucks in the food department.

We rarely use this services as it is generally not well placed for our trips, but on this occasion we needed a coffee over seven hours into a 10.5 hour journey in atrocious weather from Huntingdon to Devon. The main Costa area was very busy with only one of the two service ‘stations’ operating so we had a long wait. The flat whites when we finally got them were pretty standard but satisfied our pressing needs. However there was nothing special about the overall experience to cause me to recommend or consider a return visit.

As the “costa training centre” if this one ain’t good then you ain’t going to get any better. It was a massive building with beautiful views of the canal in the back areas. Two outdoor seating areas on the main town road and down in the water side. Very busy but helpful and efficient staff with lots of space inside.

Great breakfast; opening before the park at 8:30, so a civilised start to my working day some distance away. Traditional English breakfast with the food locally sourced - even the baked beans were home made! Good food served by nice people; many thanks.

I visited here in two separate occasions, one with my sister-in-law and the daughter (age 13) this visit was primarily to do the pottery painting? I can thoroughly recommend this, brilliant activity if you’re into arts and craft. The second occasion was with my husband and my dog to visit the garden centre. This we find it to be a well equipped garden centre which is not overpriced. Some lovely ideas for gifts, outdoor clothing, garden furniture, plants and a pet shop. The Garden centre is dog friendly with a few areas around which does not allow dogs. There’s quite a lot to do at this location , especially if you have a YoungFamily, butterfly, soft play, petting zoo, pottery painting etcetera. There are two cafés at this location, one of them being dog friendly with a segregated area for dogs and the owners. The café is okay, not great. We ordered a sandwich, cheese scone and a pot of tea. The sandwich took 45 minutes to make, It was a nice sandwich although 45 minutes to wait for a sandwich was a bit of a joke. In summary: dog friendly garden centre, children activities, location easy to get to, free parking and a cafe. We will revisit.
