Costa in Basingstoke and Deane

Cherie and Nicky are a credit to Costa, always smiling and very friendly. It is always busy in the shop but they always make you feel welcome The tables are always clean.

This is one of the best Costa around in Basingstoke, I visit regularly and never had a problem. Staff are always happy and friendly. Service is always good and fast depending on time of day. There is always a warm welcome.

We would like to do a special appreciation for Cathy and the rest of the team (Carla and others) at the Basingstoke north hants hospital Costa. My wife was very unwell I came into the store for 5 days in a row everyday she made me smile and made my day she was a shining star of Costa there and I wouldn’t have got through the last 5 days without her I want to thankyou for what she has done she truly embodies what customer service is about a kind natured and happy women that deserves appreciation. The rest of the Costa team were also lovely.

Although service can be slow, Normally don't have any problems. However went for a coffee with my Brother after a horrid appointment. Ordered my usual, a Cappuccino. I took the lid off to add sugar and saw there was only 3/4 of a cup. I am a wheelchair user, so my Brother took it up to the staff and asked if they would mind topping it up. From the other end of the café and in front of a queue of people I could hear the Barista shout a my Brother "That's what Cappuccino's are like!!!" My Brother suffers with severe PTSD and Anxiety, feeling completely humiliated, he just walked away back to me at the table. I am absolutely disgusted

Absolutely terrible, waited 10min for my coffee after they took the order, no one knows what they are doing, 5 staff behind the counter only one doing the coffee, tables not cleaned, sticky and all crumbs, one lady before me said she’d been waiting 15 mins I understand it’s a franchise so beware their standards are below power for a Costa

Visited this place out of necessity twice in two days. First time I assumed the woman who served me was having an off day but it was evident by the second day that she wasn’t! She either hates her job or is just miserable. She was chatting with her colleagues and didn’t appreciate being “interrupted” by a customer and they proceeded to chat. There were three staff altogether that I could see and they were all moaning to each other. They were all really rude and blunt to customers before and after me as I waited for my coffee. One woman behind me said they were always like this she said she only went there if there was no where else open. They proceeded to tut and sigh through it as they served people. Costa staff are normally very friendly and professional which is why this was such a stark difference. Not sure if it was a training issue or if she just wasn’t suited to the job but it was very poor indeed. Considering the fact that most people shopping there may be visiting people or feeling emotional, a smile would go a long way at the very least. Ultimately if they are that unhappy in their work they need to leave but their rudeness was quite shocking.

This new Costa outlet appears to have replaced the one which was in Greenlands Road and is a public Coffee Shop within the main foyer of the Hospital. A large restaurant, which serves staff and public who visit the hospital. We used it frequently when visiting a friend and always found the experience pleasant. Staff not particularly communicative but the service they provided was quick and drinks prepared quickly.

Arguably adequately staffed yet incomprehensibly slow service even for simple orders. A growing and ridiculously loooong queue snaking out of the franchise for over an hour. Utterly lacklustre service. Polite? Yes... Timely, efficient / comparable to almost every other Costa I've ever been to? Most definitely not. This "team" (if it can be called that) is in dire need of some motivation and probably also retraining.

Poor service, often you won’t get the drink you ask for or they forget you completely. Staff are surly and rude and will force plastic options on you even if you request not to.

Nice products available and quality coffee but very expensive. 4 quid for a toasted sandwich...really!! Long wait in busy periods but friendly staff. Is that why it's called Costa? It Costa a lot of money lol.

Great hot choc and lovely cakes ... comfy sofas when free and staff v chatty and efficient . Nice break from the shopping !

The coffee as usual is great but it makes the experience special when staff are helpful and friendly which we have found in most of your coffee shops HAZEL OSULLIVAN

Good choice of coffee snacks and toasties. Expensive but then again you get what you pay for. My favourite is the cheese and mushroom toastie but you have to get there early as they sell out quickly. Coffee is very good as well. 😆

We chose the £4.99 deal of toasted sandwiches and a hot drink. The sandwiches were warm and my friends ham was cold in her cheese and ham toastie. I wanted to complain, but my friend didn't want to make a fuss
