The most delightful afternoon tea & cake is served here! We each got a pot of tea, which was served in the a large china teapot with enough for 3 cups per person! And the crumpets were hot and delicious. The restaurant decor very tastefully done and extremely comfortable. Quite a find, I would say. Highly recommended!

This a fabulous tea room. So quirky & lovely atmosphere. The staff are very good & really friendly. The cakes are delicious, and their cheese scones are the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend a visit.

Pleasantly impressed with this lovely tearoom. We checked out 3 others before deciding to have lunch here. We both had jacket potato with tuna mayo and coronation chicken which came with plenty of salad. The vegan raspberry and chocolate cake was moist and delicious. There was a great selection of yummy looking cakes including gluten free and vegan options which was great to see. I would love to see if they could bake vegetable based cakes like courgette or beetroot. Heard they bake them freshly on the premises. The loose tea served in cute English teapots and china cups was a lovely way to drink tea. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning and trying the other cakes.

I can not get over the feeling I had when I entered this wonderful old fashioned Tea Room .. Staff so friendly and atmosphere just made my friend and I and Teddy the dog !! Want to go back and keep going back.

Great little Tea, cake, quick bite shop. Lots of nice decor which gives this place a lovely experience to relax and enjoy a lovely cuppa of your choice and if your up for it a large slice of cake to compliment everything. The shop front window attractions says it all really.

I have just been for Afternoon Tea with my family at the Cockburn Tea rooms...It was amazing...the service was great and the food spot on..they even brought a slice of cake out with a candle for my Birthday which was very sweet of them...I can see why it's such a popular place...would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.

Delightful traditional tearoom. Tea served from nice old fashioned pots with beautiful little chinacups makes it taste even better. The scones are the best ever tasted. Lovely atmosphere. Cakes really good, but very large slices, so would advise sharing. Have not had lunch here, but food looked great. If you visit Arundel, this is a must for afternoon tea.

We came to Cockburns yesterday for my birthday, just myself and my husband. We had a lunch and then a cheeky scone with clotted cream and jam ……. OMG it was heavenly, all of it, lunch too. The guys there are lovely, nothing was too much trouble and at the end even bought me a big slice of something gorgeous with a candle in! If your in Arundel make it a "must visit" you won’t regret it.

An amazing relaxing place and the best cakes ever. We loved the cakes so much with my daughter and will definitely come back at some point when visiting Arundel again in the future.

Lovely tea rooms and mmmmmmm cake...

The settings were nice however the food wasn’t a great standard. There was no welcome or ask for any requests so the afternoon tea just arrived. we received fish that no one eats. The cakes were so cold they were still semi frozen. Scones were very hard like rock cakes. Apparently you have to request to have them warmed before you eat but we were not informed. Overall not the best afternoon tea experience we have had. Wont return.

A lovely little teashop where I could actually get a pot of tea with a China cup and saucer . Homemade scones served with jam and cream went very well alongside it. I didn't have my pup with me but was pleasantly surprised that they also welcome four legged friends too. The decor is perfect for this setting and provides an excellent tranquil feeling. The staff were efficient and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will definitely return if I'm nearby in the future.

Very busy, lots of cakes to choose from for taking out or eating in. Various teas and coffees, with waitress service. Well presented, tea in teapot and offer of top up with hot water. Nice staff, cleaning and homely

Love Cockburns. Whether you just want a cuppa and some cake, or breakfast or lunch, food is always good. My favourite is porridge, banana and honey - deliciously creamy. Friendly staff and comfortable surroundings.

Popped in here with my wife on her birthday while visiting Arundel. Great choice of cakes, teas and coffees. We had Sussex cream tea each which was very enjoyable. It all felt very homely with lovely friendly staff. Recommended.

Such a lovely quaint place for tea n fab cakes. All lovely matching bone china cups saucers n teapot n you get about four cups from a pot n proper tealeaves too. Staff really friendly and such a nice atmosphere. Been here quite a few times now n will certainly go back.

A place to relax The front looks small but goes back a long way and there's an upstairs too. Plenty of comfortable seating. Dog friendly and water bowl by door. Tea/coffee and food all good

If you visit Arundel a visit to Cockburns Tea rooms is a must, to experience a true English afternoon tea. The choice of teas and freshly home baked cakes is impressive. The staff so friendly and make your visit truly a personal experience. I love the cosy english cottage vibe .Quaint decor. Tea cups and saucers..delightful experience. Highly recommended and they also sell their gorgeous cakes online.

The Sussex Rarebit is excellent. A wonderful selection of cakes available. Loved the Victoria sponge with real cream. A busy place but the staff are very efficient and really nice. Our little dog was made very welcome. This lovely venue is well worth a visit. We will definitely be back. Thanks for the wonderful lunch and warm hospitality.

Great selection of cakes and hot drinks, especially if you like tea. 19 different types of tea. I had strawberry and kiwi tea very tasty.

Wonderful old tearoom. Real china cups and saucers. The afternoon tea was to die for. They were very accommodating when I was finding it hard to book so do message. Think the booking system needs rethinking. You have to book for afternoon tea but other things you can drop in for. Always pretty busy though

Great little tea place with plenty of seating inside! The decor is a little outdated but the sussex cream tea and the cheese tea we tried were yummy! the best we had in years! Definetely going back! Staff were so lovely and it is also dog friendly!

Real nice cozy place with friendly and attentive staff. Superb collection of cakes. We just so happened to get talking to the owner's husband who happened to be sitting nearby with his cute dog (who nobody passing could resist stroking) and ended up having a great conversation with him throughout our meal...he was a real top bloke ! A nice end to our day in Arundel.

Lovely coffe with soya milk available. Good selection of cakes with vegan and Gluten free options. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere.

This is the sort of tearoom I dream about, full of character, China teapot and mugs with excellent. tasty cake. Cannot be beaten and even a good view from the window. Service was quick and very friendly.

The staff were lovely and the building was beautiful inside. The reason for my 2 star review is because of the pricing model. We went for breakfast and I only wanted a sausage and bacon sandwich. I was charged for a sausage sandwich AND a bacon sandwich! I questioned this at the till and they said that’s how the manager wants it charged!! So… I paid £8.50 for one sausage cut down the middle and one rasher cut in half between 2 slices of bread!!! My one sausage and one rasher cost more than my wife’s full English breakfast!! Not very happy and certainly won’t be back 😡 After seeing your response, then how do you explain the price of the bill for 2 sausages and 2 slices of toast, an English breakfast, the 1 sausage and 1 rasher of bacon between 2 slices of bread, a latte and 2 glasses of orange:

Food was well nice. I had a lovely sandwich and a massive pot of tea that contained about, I dunno, I want to say roughly, 6000 cups in it? All I know is I couldn't drink it all. I ordered a slice of cake because I'm greedy and couldn't eat it so they put it in a bag for me, bless 'em. Staff were nice. Would come again if it wasn't so bloody far away from where I live.

Lovely old fashioned tea rooms with jolly good cakes. Proper tea pots with loose leaf tea and strainers. Other food good too.

Sept 2021: happy to be back and had a wonderful cake and sandwich dogs are very welcome here Sept2020: Unfortunately we was late today and we didn’t get any cake nor tea 😭😭. Hope you are doing well and see you again next year.

Such a wonderful surprise. We hadn't booked but they were able to accommodate us for a while in a gorgeous table by the window upstairs on the first floor. Stunning tea pot and china. Such a simple tea service but served with such care as to make you feel special. 10/10 would recommend

Very nice cream tea, very popular.

Had lunch here after looking for somewhere that did cream teas. We were however side tracked by the lovely selection of cakes and so ordered Cheese Scone Tea and Earl Grey, White Chocolate & Lemon cake with tea. The cake and assam tea were lovely however the Cheese Scone Tea could have been presented with a bit more care and perhaps some more Cheese with the chutney! That all being said it was an enjoyable lunch with friendly staff so would recommend people trying this place for lunch.

Ok so Covid has stopped us all from doing what we have taken for granted, but the simple pleasure of a dam good cheese scone, coffee and walnut cake and a latte can't be underestimated!Yes the surroundings and decor are not the Ritz but we didn't expect that but we did want dam good cake and we got it, whilst being well cared for by attentive and pleasant staff

We have been to these tea rooms a couple of times while passing through Arundel and i absolutely love it amazing cakes and they make you feel so welcome there as well, nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel at home, its just like sitting in your own front room, would return time and again highly recommended

While paying a quite visit to Arundel, en route to a family occasion, we popped into Cockburn’s for a bite of lunch. We both had their Sussex Rarebit, followed by Strawberry Sundae. First class food and excellent service. Definitely recommended.

We visited at lunchtime and the cafe was busy. However, the service was fast and friendly and the food reasonably priced. In the very centre of Arundel this place is well worth using for refreshments.

What a great place, comfy chairs in very pleasant surroundings, attentive service from friendly staff, excellent food and drinks. One of the best tea shops I've been to in West Sussex.

I booked afternoon tea for a surprise for a wedding anniversary celebration for my friends 60thWe turned up early and they were so accommodating We were given a lovely table in the window which was perfect The staff, food and service was exceptional.Cannot wait to returnWell done!

This is a very good tea room which unusually allows dogs which was very welcome for usI had a coffee which was delicious any my partner had a poached egg on toast and by the colour of the yoke you could tell it was free range. The staff were very friendly and I will definitely return again

Lovely 3 storey building in the centre of Arundel. We booked Afternoon Tea (for 2) in advance and warned them one of us was veggie. This was not a problem. Arrived to a warm and safe welcome. We were given a fantastic window seat upstairs and service was fast and friendly. A wide range of teas is on offer and cold drink alternatives are not a problem (my wife who is veggie doesn’t like hot drinks and so had raspberry iced tea instead - very nice). When Tea arrived the sandwiches were on two stands, one for the veggie and one for the meat (handy as not possibility for cross-contamination) (allergies were also queried). Excellent range of sarnies; warm scones and a 6 cake selection to finish (we couldn’t eat them so staff happy to box them up to go). Given the excellent quality of the food and the lovely service the price was great value and we’d come again! Silver tea pot was large and robust, perfect for keeping the tea hot (extra hot water was offered). Nice to be back out and about and do a bit of people watching (we’d forgotten how appalling some people could be - man on table behind was rude and complaining - to his wife and the staff, who coped admirably). He thought £16 was too expensive and then we noticed his wife paid anyway.... god bless ‘im.

My mum and I visited this tea room and we were very impressed. We sat upstairs and there was a lovely view. It felt so cosy and the staff were very friendly. They are dog-friendly too which is brilliant.

My husband loves the cakes at this place, this time we ordered a rose and raspberry cake. It was good, however they used to have an elderflower and raspberry one, I think that is still our favourite. Service is good, love the ambience and music. Did make some serious mistakes on my order with food/dietary specifications, thankfully they did replace it after I noticed. Had to minus 2 stars because of that mistake, cause that's not something to be taken lightly.

We booked afternoon tea for our anniversary.We have had afternoon tea in several establishments over the years including the Ritz and the Shard,We found that Cockburn's was well up there along the best and was superior to the service and food we had at the Shard when we visited it.All of the staff were extremely polite, friendly and courteous,there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere,and the food was excellent and plentiful

Whilst strolling round Arundel my mum and I were drawn to the beautiful crockery and amazing looking cakes in the window. When we entered we were met by very friendly staff who served us quickly and efficiently. The tea was served in a huge pot amd after a few minutes we were offered some hot water to top it up which was a lovely touch. The millionaire's shortbread was delicious (with dark chocolate rather than milk) amd my mum said her scone was equally delicious. There was a relaxed atmosphere amd we didn't feel at all rushed. In these strange covid times it was spotlessly clean with great signage reminding the importance of social distancing. We are already planning our next visit in the October half term!

Hoorah. A tea shop with loose leaf tea and proper cups and saucers! Stopped here for tea and crumpets after visiting the castle and sat in the upstairs dining room. Lovely surroundings with helpful and pleasant staff. Tea and crumpets excellent. Should have made some room for some of the lovely looking cakes on sale. Maybe next time!

Had a lovely visit here with my Granddaughter the other day. Staff were lovely and everything was safe and clean. I had a sandwich and my Granddaughter had a vegan piece of carrot cake. Both were delicious! Very twee and pretty little English teapots and cups and saucers. The little tea shop is very old and the decor and low lighting just added to the ambiance. Always meant to visit and glad I did and will certainly go back.

Excellent selection of tasty cakes and loose tea. This tea room has everything you would expect from a proper place like this and even thought the staff is occasionally slower and tired towards the end of the day they genuinely try their best to look after you. It has a brilliant atmosphere with a lovely music and warm feeling. The cakes are great and their afternoon tea is brilliant. I cannot wait to be back again.

We had breakfast twice here during our stay in Arundel. A lovely relaxing old world charm of a restaurant. The upstairs being most delightful. Lovely staff. Vegan options. I had porridge one day and GF toast the next. My family had full English which was well cooked, not huge quantities but they were happy with the quality.Would recommend at least one visit here if you're staying in the area.

Tasty stones. Had afternoon tea and lovely warm scones. portions were generous and yummy. Doggy friendly as well. A range of cakes, vegan and gluten free as well. A very quaint tea room.

We had two excellent breakfasts and a lunchtime snack at Coburns and could not fault the food or the service which were both excellent. Helpful, friendly staff, cosy environment, delicious food and excellent value for money - what more could you want?

We were so glad we chose this tea room. I had the most delicious cream tea I've ever had! The scone was so fresh and warm and crumbled when I added the strawberry jam and clotted cream. My husband had the cheese scone tea, which came with slices of cheddar and a pot of chutney and he said it was just as delicious. We had a pot of English tea for two and there was plenty for several cups each. This is such a quaint tea room with wooden beams, cosy table lamps and cute furniture and we sat upstairs at a small table with comfortable chairs. It felt like we were sitting in my grandmother's sitting room. The service was a little slow but it was certainly worth the wait!

Although busy,the staff were welcoming and service was quick. The food was freshly cooked and delicious and great coffee. That's why we keep going back !

Wow delicious food food and brilliant service! I booked for my husbands birthday for afternoon tea, the table was set nicely and the food came out promptly, staff were lovely. We were full quite quickly and as we were off the the castle the kindly kept the food in their fridge. We ended up going back and sitting in to finish the food and ordered more drinks. I would really recommend going here 😊
