Clifftop Cafe in Shepway

This café has a great view and convenient parking, but the service level is quite low for the price range. We had an unpleasant experience: when the waiter was bringing us coffee, he tripped and spilled some near our table. He didn’t check if anyone got splashed and just walked away with the cups. Another lady brought us the coffee, but the cups were dirty on the outside. When I commented that the cups were dirty, she exclaimed, "Well, the waiter tripped and spilled the coffee! But if it's not okay, we'll replace it." She took the coffee away, brought it back in clean cups, and there was not a single word of apology. I am sure this place will always have a lot of customers because of their good location just be ready to get poor service.

Revisited on a hot Friday afternoon, in the suntrap cliff top garden sat on a bench picnic table, with a parasol which was welcome. The free Car Park notice clearly states opening times. The gate closes at 4pm and also reminds visitors they only take £Cash. Luckiky we managed between us to have enough on us. Ordered and paid for inside, a cold drink, a fruit shake, a sausage and bacon bap, but they had run out of eggs by then, and a tuna sandwich. Freshly prepared and bought out with a smile to the numbered table. The cliff top setting with glorious sea views make a pleasant way to spend a couple of relaxing hours.

This has to have the most beautiful views in Folkestone. It's breathtaking as you come around the corner to the cafe . We were there early this morning. The sun shining across the sea . Bliss ! I had the vegetarian breakfast £10 ! Such good value . Huge plate of great food including two fried eggs , mushrooms , tomato,veg sausages etc . Such a lovely place . It was pretty packed when we left ...and lots dogs too .

Beautiful views very relaxed service first class. Had little Ken breakfast such value for money. Going back again today

Luckily discovered this place before heading back to campsite. Only had two coffees but nice looking menu, catering for all including gluten free and veggie. Fantastic location with outside seating and dog friendly. The food that was being served looked lovely.

Formerly the worst cafe in England, now under new ownership - and all the better for it. Great views across the Channel, decent coffee and simple food. Just what you need on a clifftop walk.

A nice place for a drink and something to eat with stunning views across the English Channel towards the distant French coastline. There are a few tables indoors but mainly the seating is outside. Extensive breakfast menu or various sandwiches are offered. Dog friendly, on a lead, but outside only.

Arrived one hot sunny day at 3:20 to two sullen teenagers behind the bar looking at their phones and completely ignoring me. Another member of staff appeared and the first words out her mouth were “we close at 4”. Nice. “Can we order a drink?” “Yes, but we close at 4” . Got our drink, sat down, and at 3:40 they closed the doors and started clearing the tables round us and taking the parasols down. It’s was 32 degrees. Got up and left. Never again
