Caffe Pausa in Basingstoke and Deane

The amazing ladies (Debz & Lucy) who served at Pausa Basingstoke (in Oakridge), were brilliant. Thank you for the service you provided for us. Food was good. We will return for Mulberry Scone! Delicious.

Visited on my way to see family in Basingstoke. It wasn't very busy. I had a panini and coffee. The panini arrived quite quickly and was very tasty. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Great place to watch people spending money.

First time visit for quite some time. Quality is good, although they do seem to be understaffed, which is a shame. Excellent coffee and toasted sandwich. There was little to choose from on display in the chiller cabinet, which was a bit annoying.

I went here lunch time today for a coffee and a lovely young man served me, very polite and smiling which was welcoming. Another young person helping out (young girl) but no management on scene. These poor staff members were left on their own doing EVERYTHING! I have seen young staff left on their own for ages whilst I have been sat there drinking my beverage- doesn’t seem fair to be honest. There was one miserable looking older woman who appeared to be senior staff, face like thunder and very unapproachable looking.

Terrible service. My husband stood in the queue for 26mins before being served. The young lady was very sweet but surely an experienced member of staff should also be there or just another person. They still have ‘ festive flavours’ above the sandwich fridge and it’s the 15th Feb. The cafe just seems neglected and an after thought. The whole experience was painful.

I stood waiting to order for as long as it would have taken me to drive to another coffee shop park and order!! Terrible service. Also table were not clean and the shop was dirty! Will not come back here!

On my way to Basingstoke, decided to stop here for lunch. It was quite busy, but the staff were friendly and cheerful. There was a good choice of sandwiches and toasties on offer and the coffee is good.Seems to be a popular stop and is very convenient if you are shopping in the main Dunelm store. Prices are very reasonable.

Stopped here for a lunchtime sandwich and drink. It wasn't very busy. The sandwich was excellent as was the coffee. Not a great atmosphere; it is what it is, a cafe in a department store, however it is fun watching the shoppers. Quite often feels that it is understaffed, however staff are always freidnly even when stressed.

Stopped here on my way to the town centre. I have been here a number of times before and the standards are always very good. There are always offers on cake and coffee. Good place to sit and watch the shoppers down below in the main shop. The staff are good but can get a bit swamped when they are busy. Recommended.

OK for coffee whilst visiting the store but lacks character of the main specialty coffee shops. Waitress on our visit appeared to be trying to do everything herself including food preparation and returning to make coffee which kept customers hanging around for longer than necessary. They need to keep coffee preparation and food preparation separate as M&S do. Also on our visit a customer asked for the mince pie offer which came with a regualr drink. She asked for a small drink ( smaller than regular) and was told, sorry only comes with a regular one !!! Dohhhh. Coffee and mince pies good but all seemed a bit odd with furniture a bit bland.

I'm a regular visitor when visiting Basingstoke. The cafe is part of the Dunelm store, so a good place to stop while shopping. The coffee is good and the cakes and pastries are just as good and reasonably priced - there are quite often deals on selected items with a drink.The service is good and the server was very cheerful and friendly. I'm not sure what it would be like if there was a rush as there often only seems to be one member of staff on duty when I visit. Good coffee shop..

Good coffee and tea. The salted caramel flapjack is delicious and worth making a visit for. Can get crowded though.

Stopped off with my son for snack. Food was ok for my son, nice lunch box and coffee was ok however my cake was frozen inside. Took it back to exchange but they were all frozen. No happy

Empty when I arrived, so service was good. Had coffee and hot cross bun which was on a deal. Very pleasant staff. The coffee and bun were very good and reasonably priced. It's a relaxing venue where you can sit and watch the shoppers below.

Stopped off for a cup of coffee and a cake. I have been here before when service was particularly slow. It has much improved. Service was good and the staff friendly. The cafe is very peasant situated in the second floor of the Dunelm store, where you can watch what's going on below. Being the time of year there was a 'deal' on a beverage and mince p[ie, which was good value.
