Caffe Nero in Ashford

Terrible service. 1 classic hot chocolate with cream, 2 lattes and 3 cold mince pies. Shouldn't be too hard. The barista (slightly overstating the job title here) made the hot chocolate first, added the cream and then sat it on the side whilst getting and opening the milk for the coffee....by which time the cream had melted into the hot chocolate. I asked for the cream to be added when the coffee was ready, expecting them to pour it away and start again, doing it properly. No, more cream was added to the original drink, left to melt again, 45pence worth (8) mini marshmallows added, all the melted cream poured down the side of the mug, then it was put onto the tray. 2 coffees followed and I was asked if I wanted the mince pies warmed up. "No thank you". They turned around and started serving the next customer. I asked for my mince pies and was told they were in the microwave. "But I didn't want them warm" I said. So they got them out of the microwave, dumped them on my tray "they're not too hot". "Errrm no, I wanted them cold". Hence more slamming things around and 3 cold mince pies came our way. Along with a hot chocolate swimming with 2 lots of completely melted cream and not even an apology. £20! Wow, train the Saturday staff please.

Unbelievably DISGUSTING!!! Bought a ham and cheese panini (£4.90) and it came with 1 slice of ultra cheap supermarket ham (1 SLICE) and a cheese paste NOT EVEN CHEESE!!! HOW DISGUSTING and DISGRACEFUL. I will never again set foot inside one of these appalling Caffè Nero’s!!!! Photo is what I got (1 slice cheap ham, no discernible cheese as you can see). Called in for a coffee. Very friendly, helpful service. The coffee was tasty and served without delay. Comfortable seating and, an added bonus, dog friendly.

Regularly visit for tea, with or without snacks and the store is always clean and welcoming. Laura runs the store well and the whole team: Elise, Josh, Rory and Alice get the right balance between being attentive and getting the job done.

I really love the coffee and the staff are always really helpful and friendly, especially during the lockdowns when i ordered loads of click and collects!

The lady with the dark hair who was working as a barista in the Tenterden branch on Wednesday morning 11 August needs some customer service training. I found her very rude and abrupt and argumentative. Love the cafe Nero brand so this is disappointing as they have great competition in Tenterden.

ok, just your average over priced coffee chain like costa or Starbucks, not my preferred place to go because the independent chains are better and have a nicer overall feel however the staff were really sweet and its not their fault that I prefer the independent chains

Although this branch is part of a chain, it serves good coffee and is in a an attractive part of Tenterden's High Street. It is also dog friendly.

I gave a poor review in March 2019 as the service over a number of months had been terrible. I feel I need to update this as it’s been totally reversed, the new male member of staff is always engaging and friendly and makes great coffee. Thank you Nero’s.

This was a very pleasant experience. Fast friendly service from the blue-haired girl, a relaxed atmosphere and hot coffee with views of a very Christmassy street all lit up on a cold December afternoon. I rate on service, quality, cleanliness and all three were on point. Totally disregard the poor ratings one person gave this branch. It must have been a rare moment.

Called in for a coffee and a good cup of coffee it was. Very friendly staff and fast, efficient service. Lovely, amenable surroundings and an extra bonus, it's dog friendly. Would rercommend this coffee house to anyone in Tenterden wanting a good cup of coffee in pleasant surroundings.

We have been using this coffee shop for years. Recently we have noticed that only one member of staff has been serving and there are huge queues. One chap only ever appears to fill up the dishwasher and doesn’t assist the other staff with taking orders. Perhaps they are under staffed but Nero’s need to look at this as we along with others have gone elsewhere.

Staff more interested in mobile phones, not very clean and ripped dirty seating. Needs a deep clean throughout.

I live close by, so rely on this place for a good coffee and meet up with friends. The cakes are nice too

Popped in for a quick warming drink on a cold day. The reception was warm and we had a very good coffee and tea.

Staff generally are always pleasant, courteous and polite. BUT, often there are queues to be served with only one staff member on duty. I have seen customers walk away, including me.

Popped in for a coffee on my own. It's a bit charmless, cold. The staff are friendly n efficient n the coffee is good. There is the usual selection of coffee chain cakes n pastries.

Called in for coffee and cake with a friend on weds ,,,,lovely coffee and a good selection of cakes and cookies . We had comfey chairs by the window and the very nice young man whose name was Will very kindly brought or drinks to our table . Will definately visit again when shopping in Tenterden :-)

Only stopped for morning coffee. The coffee was good for a chain coffee house and the seating area is very comfortable and in keeping with the town. Helpful friendly service.

My partner and I went there for coffee with his two sons..it was on a Friday morning and the place is quite packed...

All you would expect from a chain coffee shop but with a little more finesse. Comfortable and pleasant atmosphere during our late morning visit.

My husband & I had come to Tenterden to have a look around but priorities are always coffee first. Him with his Expresso & me with my Americano with sugar-free hazelnut syrup.

I like Caffe Nero as a chain generally. However, on visiting this branch on a Monday morning, there was one person serving who was wearing a trainee barista tee shirt. There was a q and she seemed to be struggling, because not only was she serving, she also had to sign for a parcel and direct a cash delivery to the office upstairs-it is unfortunate that the person upstairs did not come and help-At least one person walked out while I was queuing and I was on the point of doing so. In addition, there were several trays that had been finished, but the tables had not been cleared because the person was on their own. I will not return to this branch.

Went here to meet a friend for coffee, was a lovely setting. A relaxing atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful; recommending a lovely drink.

My Wife, Wendy and I were visiting Tenterden on a day trip by coach from Surrey. We always look out for a Caffe Nero. The Tenterden Caffe Nero was a pleasure to visit, the Barista's welcomed us with a smile and we enjoyed a coffee and some shortbead biscuits. Without a doubt, the best coffee shop in Tenterden. I was given a tray to carry the coffees and biscuits to my chosen table. The tables were clean and tidy.

Really nice coffee and very good staff. I'm a fan of cafe Nero and this is one of the better branches. The cafe is always clean

Opens nice and early. Beats all other coffee houses in Tenterden. Management and staff very Friendly and best of all quick.

Not listed already so perhaps a newcomer. Towns divide between those with lots of chicken shops and lots of coffee houses. Tenterden is firmly a coffee town. I was pleased I selected the first café in from Ashford. The egg and cress sandwich was chilled, the own brand orange juice very orangey and the muffin completed the meal. The interior is on two levels but there is a ramp. Disabled and baby changing available and wi fi. Thoughtful staff who offered to carry my tray. Cannot comment on the coffee so others must comment later. . Very clean with tables of varying capacities. Maybe a bit dark away from the street
