Caffe Nero in West Berkshire

Went for a coffee in neros 11am this morning , Waiting in the que for ages,as there was only one young lad serving ,,wkilse two other staff members were hiding elsewhere . Not the boys fault he tried his best on his own. I've said it before and I'll say it again,while the cafe Nero boss is on his boat sailing around the world having the life of Reilly,he should be putting customers before profits. Get more staff that actually do their job correctly

Dreadful. Long wait. I was looking forward to an iced pistachio frappe - the ice was not crushed tge drink wasn’t blended just whipped cream pushed through the top. The blueberry muffin had a best past sellby texture to it. I sat at a dirt uncleared window seat.

If you like a dirty rundown coffee shop which serves your drink hotter than the sun then this is the place for you. Nice staff but the place should likely be shut down, filthy and partly feels like a building site…

Improved since my last visit. Coffee was good and it's dog-friendly which is such a nice change from the hysterical response you get from some businesses if you happen to have a dog with you.

Coffee was nice and the guy behind the bar was friendly. He wasn't listening properly though and used the wrong milk Because he was lovely I didn't actually mind too much

There is not enough room for the pedestrian to walk in front of the shop, sometimes the car parked in front of the shop and there is room for only one person to pass trough. If Nero would not be there, their terrace and the car parked in front of the shop, you would have enough room for 6-7 people to pass through. Thank you.

Has potential to create an enjoyable ambience but unfortunately fails. Scruffy feel and disjointed seating arrangements which fail to meet the standards offered by Nero in Bath and Bristol. Do like their coffee however but better ambience available in cafes close by.

The cafe is expensive and the staff is unwelcoming - they don't give you a receipt by default, you have to ask for it.The place itself is not well decorated.

We visit on Thursdays, we have a grandson of 3 years and Nero is the only cafe that has a few toys for the children to play with. The coffee is fabulous...the cakes are great....the staff are first class.

Excellent latte, strong with lots of taste, hot and frothy too. Restaurant layout and furnishing's make for a relaxed environment and the staff are a credit to the shop. All in all a very fine experience.

I was leisurely having a drink with a friend when alarm bells kept going off, it really disturbed the weekly meet with my friend. We couldn’t complain about our drinks as they were very nice. The toilets could do with some more attention as they were dirty. The rating is influenced by my experience today.

Popped in to try as probably one of only coffee shops we haven't tried. Quite busy, but hard to tell how busy, as the tables were dirty so it was hard to tell if people were sitting there or not. Service was ok, nothing special ... Didn't get offered a reward card. Cappuccino was well made, baby chino was well made but my daughter complained it was too small. She looked forward to her bacon roll, but was disappointed as it was streaky bacon and wasn't crispy so was really fatty and made her heave so she just bare the bread. The brownie did get a thumbs up 👍 by the other daughter.

I always call in here for a coffee while visiting relatives in Newbury. very nice comfy chairs and lots of seating .

Had a lovely time at Neros. Staff very nice. Coffee was very good made by very polite young man called Roger. My favourite coffee shop in Newbury.

Wasn’t really sure about calling in here but glad we did, good service and reasonabley priced, atmospher was really nice.

Went to Caffe Nero yesterday for the first time. Was not impressed so won't be back. Stains on some of the seats. Plate I was served my toasted sandwich on had a crack in it. Teaspoons were not clean and gents toilet looked as if there had been a flood.

The coffee is really good and I always like the atmosphere in here - the café feels spacious and is not too noisy. The staff are also friendly and professional.

Popped in for drink to meet a friend as an easily recognisable place. Bought two hot chocolates and two large gingerbread men. The two lads behind the counter were busy but polite and efficient. (The younger one seemed to have arthritis in his fingers, but carried on regardless, Trooper) The chocolate was delicious, the decor normal cafe Nero style, it was a warm, dry and welcoming place and Full. Then at ten minutes to eleven they stopped the music. Around 8 minutes later they announced there would be a 2 minute silence for Remembrance Day (which I would’ve done on my own) but was so touching and emotional to have a roomful of strangers Willing to participate. You could have heard a pin drop, amazing. Whether these young staff were told to do it or off their own back, they were very respectful, it was humbling. Lovely lads. Will be visiting again, such loyalty in staff cannot be bought and Shows in their performance.

Whilst walking passed we noticed you were advertising "dog friendly" which is most unusual for a cafe. As we had 2 dogs and it was cold outside we took this opportunity to come in and warm up. I had a gingerbread latte and a mince pie, both were delicious. Great to know you are dog friendly for the future!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn dogs were allowed in the store.It was a freezing cold day and I was out with my husband, daughter and two dogs looking for somewhere warm to sit for a while. How wonderful that dogs are allowed to sit with their owners. I enjoyed a caramel latte and a mince pie in the comfort of the store. Thank you for being dog friendly! :)

Not only are we welcome, but also our very well behaved dog. I think this is the only coffee house in Newbury that allows dog inside and even provides them with a bowl of water.

Myself and my other half popped into the cafe for an early morning coffee. We ordered two flat whites. When we tasted them they were Luke warm and just a hint of coffee. It was obvious that the milk was put in cold and that there wasn't a full shot of coffee in each. Most dissatisfied.

Friendly Staff but how hard can it be to get the order right when you are only having to serve two drinks and one cake? How can you forget one? Service very slow despite a near empty cafe. I think the poor staff need more training.

Reliably good coffee at Nero's....lovely staff very friendly and nice selection of edibles. Nice choice of seating and provides high chairs for toddlers.

I have to confess at preferring the Caffe Nero chain to Costa and Starbucks. Good mix of seating with easy chairs as well as more formal ones.Having whipped cream on hot chocolate doesn't add anything to the price.Will go again.

Its a chain so you should know exactly what you are getting. Larger than expected coffee shop and a good mixture of seating at tables, comfy sofas and armchairs.Service was slow even when no one in the queue, staff uninterested and not willing to engage with the paying client, it is a service industry so the staff should be making the effort.The worst thing was over half a dozen tables still had not been cleared and despite very few customers coming in, there were no spare tables as the staff (who had plenty of opportunity) just didnt bother to clear.As we know, high street coffee shops are not cheap options and there are an abundance to spend your money in, I'll be spending mine elsewhere next time!

I would not recommend Nero in Northbrook Street. If you are lucky and the right person serves you your drink might be ok. Sadly my last experience not pleasant, after querying why I was overcharged I eventually got my money back but was not offered an apology or any compensation. My drink was not up to the expected standard. I left very disappointed.

Caffe Nero is a comfortable place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee although my wife says their iced frape is to die for. Good mix of customers; business shoppers, mums young and not so young. Simple but pleasant decoration makes for a café to return to

I used to frequent this place for my take away of coffee or hot chocolate. Great place but there is nothing special or different about this outlet. Service was always quick and with a smile..

I love Nero! you can rely on the quality of the coffee which is one of the best on the market. The cafe is not large, there is limited comfy seating as opposed to hard chairs. There are some chairs outside but mainly used by smokers. Nice pastries and cakes. Its in the Kennet Centre which has become a bit of a white elephant with few open shops and it badly needs a makeover, but this cafe is worth a visit.

Sadly not up to the usual high standard of Caffe Nero in most Nero's the staff are exceptional. Not so in Newbury it was less than welcoming and rather dull. Probably the worst I've been in.

Always great chai tea, frappes and coffees - managed to avoid the yummy cakes this time! Always worth a visit - friendly staff.

Inattentive, slow, no warning of extra costs for ordering different milk, the sugar is hidden round the corner, yet no one tells you...? Coffee was too frothy for a latte, not hot enough and over priced!

Regularly use Nero in Newbury and anywhere else I am for an afternoon coffee. Love their coffee which is tasty, strong and how I like it. Service is always good and effective and polite. One of my favourite chains.

Cafe Nero makes very good coffee and sells nice pastries and cakes.However,all the upholstered seating really needs a good clean.The seats are very stained and it makes you feel loathe to want to sit in them.They really need a deep clean or better still the seating should be replaced.Apart from this,the service is good and the staff pleasant.
