Indian food for non-indians, no flavour or authenticity, also the server arguing why an authentic Indian tea couldn't be served and gave us English tea instead. Very disappointing ,head to East Ham for good authentic Indian food. Skip this pseudo Indian place. There are many such fraud, overpriced Indian restaurants around.

If you want the real Indian food not the rubbish that is claimed to be Indian food try this place been to India 3 times this is the only place in the UK that serves the real thing and it tastes authentic and amazing. Great tapas concept. Great views over the docks and planes taking off and landing at city airport. Staff are brilliant the chef put a message and signed the recipe book we bought. Can't say anything bad about it go give it a try.

We arrived just as they opened and we were the only diners, this filled us with a tiny bit of trepidation... Our fears were quickly dispelled when the waiter took our order, and served the first dish.... very tasty indeed. The top quality service and the excellent dishes carried on throughout. A great way to spend my gf's birthday... many thanks. She was too nervous to ask for a picture 😂 Cyrus and his wife.... amazing hosts (in fact everyone was).

All four of us had a fantastic evening at the Private Dinner with Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala. We are regular diners here so thought we’d try this new experience. It did not disappoint. There were only 12 of us so it was very intimate and relaxed. The food was interesting, varied, plentiful and utterly delicious! Both Cyrus and Pervin were on sparkling form and told us everything we needed to know about the specially designed menu and kept us entertained all evening!! I highly recommend this experience.

As expected the food was very good but a complete change to when the restaurant was located in Prescott street. They now operate on what seems to be like a "taster" menu where the portions, while very good , are quite small and you can end up racking up quite a bill at the end without realizing. Excellent service, Mrs T always on hand to check that everything was OK, but actually preferred the ambiance of the old site.

My wife and I were staying at a hotel near London Excel for a mini theatre break. We found this gem. 3 stops on the DLR and a short stroll bought us to Cafe Spice Namaste. Amazing views and brilliant staff, so friendly. The food and the restaurant decor were the stars. Each dish had completely unique flavours. Even the cocktails were fantastic, with Indian twists. We finished with an Indian inspired Creme Brulle and gorgeous homemade ice cream. We both felt we had a wonderful experience, Thank-you Cafe Spice Namaste.

Excellent restaurant run by the celebrated chef Cyrus Todiwala and Pervin Todiwala. The restaurant is spread over two floors and is ideally located on Dock Walk waterfront. The main dining room is large, airy and spacious with great views of the water and distant Canary wharf. The menu is varied and they offer Parsee, Indian and Chinese cuisine. The food is excellent and the service by Cyrus, Pervin and the team is friendly and efficient. We visited for the special Chinese Lunar new year with a curated Indo Chinese 4 course menu. Thanks and special mention to Cyrus who visited our table and many others tables to engage with the diners. The ambience was great and we shall certainly revisit.

We asked the waiters for recommendations and they suggested lamb cutlets. They were absolutely amazing. Cooked and flavoured to perfection. Each one of us in our party of six enjoyed them. All the dishes we ordered were great. The cocktails were also very tasty and there’s a good selection of wines. The service was impeccable. I had forgotten my glasses so the waiter actually let me borrow a pair of reading glasses so that I could actually read the menu. The only downside is that it is a little hidden away and there are parking restrictions although the staff will let you know where it is ok to park. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We got to meet Cyrus and his wife so that was a bonus. We would definitely go back. Maybe in the summer and experience outdoor dining.

Visited with my father as part of a weekend away to East London. He had visited their previous establishment near Tower Bridge as part of workplace dinners. Tucked within a modern apartment development on the Thames you cross a small footbridge with views of Greenwich beyond. Once inside there is polished concrete flooring, big windows and a friendly atmosphere, popular music playing above. All staff we encountered were very polite & sincere in their warmth. The menu is not like a conventional Indian restaurant where they have flavours of sauces and you then choose the meat. This menu is almost to be treated like a tasting board, smaller dishes to be sampled and flavours to be mixed & compared. Padpads Chutneys (onion & carrot, fruit chutney, piccalilli, mint) Beetroot & Coconut Samosa Venison Tikka Aflatoon Lamb Samosa Chicken Tikka Peshwari Naan Mango Kulfi Mr Todiwala's Apricot Toffee A very enjoyable taste palate and garnishes adorn each plate we had. Not a scrap left behind and every bite savoured. Their chicken tikka in particular was a marvel in its succulent texture and flavour profile. We also had the joy & pleasure of meeting Cyrus Todiwala OBE and his wife Pervin. A nice, natural interaction between customer & owner let to a sharing of praise & memories of restaurants old. A pleasurable meal to share with my Father & somewhere I'd recommend.

The food is spectacular, and the passion and care that encompasses each dish is palpable when speaking to the owners, who were on the restaurant floor, engaging with their team and guests. There is a real family feel to this place, but the quality of decor, food, and service at no point is compromised. We shared dishes such as the lamb cutlets, the samosa chaat, peppered beef tikka, chilli cheese naan, and parathas. Also, the parsee lamb dansak (pictured) is divine. Each mouthful was as delectable as the next. A must visit restaurant if in London. Our party was 18 people, and the experience was that of being a much smaller party. This restaurant is becoming one of our go-to regular restaurants. The food is absolutely outstanding and, for a restaurant owned by a 'celebrity chef', the welcome is homely and unpretentious. Mr & Mrs Todiwala are fantastic, always welcoming, and circulating through each table regularly to ensure everything is perfect. The food is cooked to order and mainly comprises of a mix of smaller dishes with plenty of variety. The hosts are honest with how much to order and readily willing to offer advice on selection. Yes, it is a bit of a trek to get to the restaurant but it is worth it as the location is beautiful, set by the waterfront where you can watch the aircraft arriving and departing from City Airport (as well as the ducks, geese etc. in the water). Price wise, at approx. £50 per head including drinks, this is very reasonable for such a high quality of restaurant in London. The area is currently going through regeneration so I strongly recommend going to this hidden gem before the area and the restaurant gets very busy!

We booked this table as it's near a relative's house in London's Docklands and we knew of Cyrus' reputation from TV. I have to say the experience was outstanding. As we went in the period between Christmas and New Year it was quiet but we were amazed it wasn't full. It should be! This is better than a 'neighbourhood gem' and is a destination restaurant. The food, served in a contemporary fashion mostly on small plates, is refined and seriously delicious with real balance. Inventive cookery means that you build slowly towards satisfaction, rather than being stuffed early on. Delicious duck and venison dishes pair with classics such as a very tasty Biryani and the most delicious breads I've perhaps ever tasted. I finished with a mango lassi and my partner and cousin shared a house made kulfi. We were welcomed warmly at the door and our table by Mr and Mrs Todiwala, who are obviously lovely people. I cannot wait to return.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Michelin guide Indian restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights of my dining experience was the tapas style menu. It allowed me to try a variety of dishes and flavours without feeling overwhelmed. The lamb chop was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with just the right amount of spices. The beetroot and coconut samosa was a delightful surprise, with a crispy exterior and a flavourful filling. The lamb dhansak was another standout dish, with its rich and aromatic sauce. I also had the pleasure of trying the papaya salad, which was a refreshing and light option. The combination of flavors and textures in the beef fry with paratha was simply divine. The dish was packed with bold spices and the paratha was perfectly flaky. For dessert, I indulged in the crème brûlée and the apple crumble samosa. The crème brûlée had a perfectly caramelized top and a creamy custard underneath. The apple crumble samosa was a unique twist on a classic dessert, with a crispy samosa shell filled with warm apple filling and topped with a crunchy crumble. The selection of wine at the restaurant was impressive. The sommelier was knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect wine to complement my meal. The wine list had a great variety, catering to different tastes and preferences. The customer service at the restaurant was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were always ready to answer any questions and provide recommendations. The waitstaff ensured that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Chef Todiwala and his wife Pervin create a welcoming ambiance at their restaurant, enhancing the dining experience. After savoring my meal, I couldn't resist buying a selection of the chef's pickles, chutneys, and spice mixes to enjoy the delightful flavors they add to every dish. Overall, my experience at the Michelin guide Indian restaurant was exceptional. The tapas style menu allowed me to explore a variety of flavors, the selection of wine was impressive, and the customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

And the rich fruit cake with the desert – oh wow, that really was amazing. Also loved getting to know the other three couples to the table. Can't wait for next time!

Amazing! We went for one of Spice Namaste's Khaadraas evenings, it was amazing - you can tell that a huge amount of care and experience went into the preparation. Each dish was absolutely delicious and perfectly spiced. Cyrus Todiwala and his wife are great hosts, talking us though each dish and generally chatting with all the guests. Yes, it's not cheap, but at around £50 a head for a four course meal prepared by the best I reckon it's pretty good value.

Went as a group of four last night. Great food, lovely owners that reviewed the menu with us and great value! We shared the dishes so we could sample the menu and some of our favourites were the prawn curry, chicken biryani, lamb dhansak, chilli cheese naan and the outstanding pistachio kulfi. Higly recommend adding this restaurant to your London eating!

I ate here on 20th December with some family. We had 8 main dishes and shared them all, the chilli cheese toast, goan prawn curry and chicken cashew curry were absolute stand out dishes as well as the pistachio kulfi for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious and of the highest quality. The service is fantastic and we were well looked after. Can't wait to come back and try different dishes!

I can’t remember eating a meal more delicious. Chef Cyrus Todiwala and his wife Previn, and their team are welcoming, attentive and happy to explain the menu, so don’t be afraid to ask. This is Indian tapas which means you get to eat, share and enjoy multiple dishes. And believe me, you’ll want to try as many as you can. I loved the lamb cutlets, the five cheese chili toast, the roast chicken cafreal zambeziana (my favourite - Marinated chicken on pressed potatoes), flaky buttery parathas, goan prawn curry and the ultimate dessert, apple crumble samosa! The restaurant is informal, airy and beautifully decorated. The location is on the river at Gallions Reach, which is easy to get to on the DLR. It’s well worth the trip, and feels like an adventure but one I would be happy to take again and again for a meal at Cafe Spice Namaste.

Food was overpriced for small portions. Service was okay. Gave a tip to our waitress and that got taken off her by management.

The best Indian restaurant in London in my opinion with the most beautiful hospitality of the owners Chef Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala.

As regular visitors to Cafe Spice over many years, our meal was excellent and although we've never had a bad meal, the food was exquisite. The service was well up to its usual high standard; Cyrus and Pervin's restaurant never fails to meet the same high standards we receive each visit. We are amazed that that we rarely see reviews by food critics: it's about time their absence is rectified so that this gem of a restaurant gets tha accolades it deserves!

Originally booked for dinner but an offer of tickets for the Royal Albert Hall was too good to miss. I was delighted that we could amend our booking at such short notice to make it a lunch date. We chose 4 dishes between the 2 of us and each was beautifully presented & rich in flavour. The smell of Indian spices, the great soundtrack playing as we looked out across the water as the planes came in to land overhead made it a great experience. Worth the journey!

It was my first time at the new location and it was better than previous dining experiences at Cafe Spice Namaste. The staff were great, the menu filled with things I hadn't had prior and each dish was fantastic! It was my girlfriends birthday and they even gave us some complimentary Champagne. The Garlic Chilli and Ginger Prawn balls were exceptionally good. I had accounted for the bill to be quite large and was pleasantly surprised it was a good deal under my estimation. We will go back again, thank you.

Managed to get a reservation on a themed night, We wern't part of the special club who were told about the food that had been prepared for them, but was able to order from the set menu. Food was tasty and the ambience was good even though it was raining terribly outside. Inside the atmosphere was warm and delightful

The restaurant is difficult to find in London Docklands on a dark, wintry night. Parking is difficult but the restaurant has several reserved spaces across a bridge. Collect a permit from the restaurant otherwise risk a £100 fine. It’s dark and remote out on the dockside. No bars or vibe around the area. The restaurant is an attractive box of metal and glass. We were welcomed pleasantly and seated by a window. It was very cold. The menu is large and varied with mostly small plates - Indian tapas. My husband had to move the car to a designated parking space, with a restaurant permit. When he returned he said it felt even colder inside the restaurant. We asked to be moved but, to be honest, the whole restaurant was freezing. Customers were sitting with hats and coats on and one local customer said to my husband, “it’s f…….g freezing in here”. The head waiter tried adjusting the air-con unit with no luck. He then produced a small industrial heater, which didn’t really work properly. We were still cold. However, the food was superb. We tried all the specials (tapas plates) - all absolutely delicious. We then had lamb dhansak with Keralan potatoes. Yummy. With a bottle of wine and tap water, our bill was £118, including service charge. So definitely not cheap and enough profit to put the heating on. We would give 10/10 for the food. 9/10 for the service. But only 5/10 for the overall experience given the difficulty of finding the place, the draconian parking restrictions and the freezing cold environment. We said we’d return on a warm and light summer’s day but we wouldn’t return during the winter. Brrrrrf.

We visited for the tasting menu on a cold Thursday evening in November so not surprisingly, there was a limited clientele in the restaurant and by the end of the evening, we were the only diners (before 9.00). The food was very good, as was the service, but the restaurant was very chilly indeed and not conducive to a relaxing evening. The 8 courses also came very quickly one after another - suggesting the staff were keen to close the restaurant and get home - and there was little "wow factor" in the food. All very pleasant and very well presented but not spectacular, as we would expect from a £70 menu.
