Bucket & Spade Coffee Shop in Shepway

Many thanks to Steve and the team at the bucket and spade who always make us feel welcome , it's normally at half way stop off for our weekly walk but we're parking closer and staying longer , they have a great choice of food and drinks at a very reasonable price, with comfortable sofas and tables for bigger groups ( dogs included) . We came for a tea and a rest but now it's tea , toasted pannis and a slice of cake . Many thanks to all at the Bucket and Spade. definitely see you soon

Wow. What a lovely coffee shop. My two dogs and i had a lovely time relaxing and socialising with mother and her 2 dogs. The place is nicely decorated and well laidout for foot and paw fall.

This place is fabulous, the presentation and quality of items to eat is amazing. Highly recommend!

We stopped for a light lunch. Very good choices of sandwiches and cakes. We settled for a Coronation Chicken on granary bread and a slice of Victoria Sandwich cake. We enjoyed the food immensely. Staff very polite and attentive. A small gem of a place, very clean plenty of seating areas. Dogs welcome. In our opinion well worth visit.

Such a nice friendly comfortable coffee shop. Delicious cakes and drinks. I would really recommend it. The only downside is it is not open on Fridays and Saturdays

Beautifully decorated and comfortable little cafe a stone’s throw from the beach serving excellent home made snacks and cakes. Such a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee.

We often call in here for a take-out drink and cake whilst out on a long walk along the seawall. The Cadbury's chocolate Brownies were so good: gooey with big chunks of dairy milk and enough for us to share. Scones and bread pudding are also pretty tasty! It is popular and can get busy so be prepared for a little wait, but we find it worth it.

Delightful place with friendly and kind service

We visited Dymchurch to take the dog for a run on the beach... Afterwards we thought we would have a coffee and maybe some food...brunch What a great discovery. Delicious food, personal service, good choice of toasted sandwiches. Dog friendly. We recommend!

Very tasty snacks (no eggs??) and good friendly service. MANY thanks for catering for 7 hungry, thirsty cyclists at short notice on a busy weekend.

We have a holiday home at Dymchurch and walked to the sea side. First time we discovered Bucket & Spade and it looked promising. Allergies and ingredients displayed well. Nice comfy atmosphere and little extras like take away trays, dog biscuits and in general well presented. We ordered 2 milkshakes and we were really looking forward to them HOWEVER the sugar contents were way too high and they were given to us unmixed. So we had to use our paper straw to mix the ice cream with the syrup etc. So bit odd. Also find the prices way too high for the area. Dymchurch is for a cheap and cheerful day yet this café charges £4.95 for beans on toast. So definitely worth a try if you are willing to pay over the top for mediocre quality food/ drinks.

Visited with my elderly parents and my little dog (who was made very welcome). We had coffee and cakes and all were delicious. Service very warm and friendly. Really good value.

Lovely family run Coffee shop, always made to feel welcome. We usual book via FB Messenger, and so far always had a table reserved for us. Very nice food, at a reasonable price even with the cost of living increases.

Went there this morning coffee was OK but sandwiches disgusting cold bacon as seems precooked lucky we was only passing through and very dear 2 coffees and 2 plates of bacon cold sandwiches £12 40 outrageous prices next time we up there won't go there again

we stumbled on this coffee shop by chance it looked clean and very inviting so thought we’d give it a try and what a find it was they do the best milkshake I’ve ever tried and the food was delicious too so good we went back next day what a lovely coffee shop and the staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome if your ever in dymchurch find this gem of a coffee shop 5⭐️plus home made cakes are a must we will definitely be back thanks all at bucket & spade 👍

This is an ideal cafe to just chill in. Very friendly warm atmosphere and lovely drinks. Especially welcoming to dog families, with free treats and poo bags, water bowl and doggy ice cream being offered! Beautiful environment. Wonderful prices and a wide variety. My favorite cafe!

Me and my boyfriend always come here when we get days off work. Such lovely staff and friendly environment. Amazing milkshakes and lovely paninis. The Brie and cranberry is my favourite! Also have a great selection of sweet treats as well. Definitely recommend!!

Have visited several times but today was our first sampling of the home-made lemon drizzle cake. Delicious! A friendly, unpretentious café where the focus is on quality food at sensible prices. We'll be back! Recommended.

Our regular coffee stop when we go to the beach at Dymchurch. Love the scones - cheese scone in the morning, fruit scone with jam and CLOTTED cream in the afternoon. Sausage rolls are excellent. Nice range of snacks and cakes. Coffee is excellent as well.

Regularly visit for a great coffee and snack. Good clean interior and welcoming staff. Owners, Rachel & Steve always pleased to see you. In my opinion the coffee is the best in Dymchurch. I can't praise Bucket and spade enough. Do visit if your in the area, enjoy.

Lovely Cafe. We had a very tasty cake and cup and mug of tea all served up by the very friendly proprietors. We will definitely be returning. We love Dymchirch and this Cafe is an added bonus for a pit stop from walking on the beach.

Great value for money everything homemade. We had milkshakes topped with cream absolutely delicious along with carrot 🥕cup cake and bakewell tart. Staff friendly and it is very clean there, will definitely be going back heard that the coffee is good too!

My wife, daughter and me went for lunch yesterday. It was the first time since November lockdown It was as if we had been going regularly. The food and staff were excellent. It’s great to get back to normal.

Bright, clean environment and exceptionally friendly proprietor and staff. Lovely food. Very reasonably priced and good size portions. Extremely convenient for the beach, amusements and shops. Very child and dog friendly. Best place to eat and drink in Dymchurch by far. Highly recommended

I absolutely love this coffee shop. Rachael and Steve the owners are always very friendly and welcoming. Takeaway only at the moment due to covid - had a lovely takeaway cream tea. Enjoyed the very fresh sweet and savoury scones. Can't wait until we're able to sit inside again and relax in there, enjoying the many other lovely things on the menu. Never been to Dymchurch before and found this beautifully thought out coffee shop. Spacious, everything considered to meet covid safety guidelines. Great coffee and friendly too. Would definitely recommend.

I visited Dymchurch for the day with my family. The coffee here is amazing and the home made cakes looked so good. I went to the loo there and they took my name and number due to COVID19, very organised and I felt safe there too.

Ordered a crab flake baguette turns out it’s crab sticks with a lashing of margarine... anyway apart from the overly bland baguettes and paninis we had ordered the cafe was very clean !

I brought my family in, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The food was spot on and we really liked the atmosphere and decor, and was competitively priced. We had milkshake too, and it brought us to thier yard.

Such a shame as the perfect location. But have tried a couple of times and found to be uncomfortable and very unwelcoming. Overhearing staff (dark haired lady. Possibly the owner) discussing fellow local eateries very loudly and rudely in a negative way whilst customers in the shop. Far from professional. Staff found to be quite rude and it seemed too much trouble at times when asking questions regarding their menu. Food looked ok but very basic. Not as welcoming as many have said here.

Walked from Littlestone and wanted a coffee. This place has a proper espresso machine and serves a good coffee. We had Homemade banana and walnut slice which was superb. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. Some inside seating.

Today John and I had our first meal out since lockdown. Must admit to feeling nervous. Nothing to worry about. We arrived for 12 noon sitting, although early. Did not mind waiting while Rachel completed sanitising our seating area. Seated at our table feeling safe being shielded by screens. Meal ordered and brought to our table by Steve and later Rachel wearing a face covering as closer to us. We were asked not to leave our table unless using the toilet or leaving at the end of our meal to avoid unnecessary contact. Small price to pay. If we needed anything more to please ask and it would be brought to us. Every guideline had been met for our own and staff safety. Everything was spotless as it always was if not more so. Sanitiser available everywhere. Our food was delicious as ever. Rachel and Steve were their usual friendly, chatty and caring selves. Can never fault them or their team. What a wonderful place, the cakes was far to tempting to miss out on. Lovely friendly ladies and super fast service . Homemade cakes was truly amazing and very filling . We even took some freshly baked cake 🍰 home . The cleanliness of the inside was outstanding and dog friendly which was a added bonus . Service Awful.waited 40 minutes for 1 coffee.tried it again,2nd time visit,another 40 minutes,3rd and final time 2 weeks ago,had to wait another 35 minutes not busy,only 3 tables being used!They need to get there act together!,I definitely WON'T be going back there and would not recommend the "bucket and Spade"cafe to anyone!

In an ideal position,the staff are so lovely.it is dog friendly as we always have our dog with us, they always give him a bonio. The coffee and cakes are the best.the scones are always fresh home baked. My husband can`t resist taking an extra piece of bread pudding home. Stopped by for a quick bite to eat + coffee. Food was freshly prepared and served promptly.They had a good selection of homemade cakes, which I highly recommend sampling!I was educated on the various styles of coffee and what they actually mean - see attached photo. Friendly service, comfortable venue, look forward to visiting next time we are in Dymchurch.

We had a couple of breakfasts here and the welcome was fab. Despite not being local the owners were very friendly and accommodating to us and our 2 dogs. Enough on offer for a good breakfast without lots of fried food and very reasonably priced. Husband said this place had the best flat white coffee. Thanks for the hospitality Bucket and Spade.

Super cafe by the sea wall and slipway. It’s easily missed so seek it out. Great menu, great value, great service. Lots of room inside plus some little tables on the street. Well behaved dogs are welcome. We usually have lunch there, my niece 13 always asks to go there when she visits. I have the mozzarella panini and coffee, really good portion and reasonably priced. The cafe is clean, staff always friendly it’s perfect actually.
