Bryherstones Inn in Scarborough

Absolutely lovely Sunday lunch. The place was packed to the rafters however the service was calm, courteous and timely. Our Sunday roasts and puds were delicious. A superb pint of Landlord and a good wine to accompany our meal. All in all a super experience and thanks to Paul and his wonderful team. Hugh Hendry

Staying locally so decided to book here. It was Valentine's evening but the atmosphere was nice not over the top. Good was outstanding we both had Halibut Steaks that were delicious. Reasonably priced as well. Staff were friendly but not intrusivr. Would highly recommend and we will be back when I'm the area.

After calling ahead, and securing ourselves a last minute table, Paul and the team made us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped in the door. Both dogs were greeted by staff and we were shown to a lovely table near an open-fire, with plenty of space for the dogs to spread out and have a snooze (well needed after a long walk). A bowl of water was brought over to the dogs, before we’d even asked for one, which was really lovely. 🐾 We were given recommendations based on our preferences and my husband’s nut allergy was no problem for the team. The pie was delicious and my husband enjoyed a chicken dish from the specials board. We finished our meal off with a lovely chat with the landlord and then a hot chocolate fudge cake 😋 It was nice to hear about the history of the pub and about all its recent renovations. All staff that we came into contact with were friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. Thanks for a lovely meal! One thing to note is that last orders for the kitchen tonight were 8pm so do make sure you ring ahead to check to avoid disappointment!

I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The landlord squeezed us in as it was extremely busy. Beautiful pub. The Landlord was very welcoming as we waited for our table even informing us that that a Barnsley FC Legend frequented the bar none other than Phil Chambers. The food was superb and portions more than enough could not find fault with anything even the price was good. Maybe a bit out in the sticks but we'll worth a visit you will not be disappointed.

Wow, what can I say! We had the most perfect meal at the Bryerstones Inn. The landlord was attentive, personable, and present. The waiting and bar staff were warm, funny, and provided exceptional service. We had garlic mushrooms, pate and prawn cocktail to start, great sized portions, all to die for. The pate especially was excellent. Sally's steak pie lived up to its reputation, wonderful pastry with unctuous gravy, and the gammon was delivious. Fabulous chips and salad. We would definitely visit again. Great atmosphere, lovely authentic pub with amazing service. We could not wish for better. Thank you ever so much.

Came for early meal NYE. The ambience, staff, and even music were spot on. My husband had the Halibut steak and I had the Chicken in Stilton sauce, we had half of each and I have to say it was the best meal I have had for a long time. A warm welcome on a rainy Saturday evening. We had booked as we know how busy the restaurant can be and true to form it was buzzing. The food was amazing and portions really wholesome - just wished we had enough space for desserts! Friendly host and staff, dogs welcomed and they also have a ‘dog free part of the pub’ for those strange people who don’t enjoy the company of furry four legged friends.

A very friendly and welcoming pub with a lovely roaring fire on a miserable day. The food tasted fine and hot but not the greatest quality or standard, bread rolls were dry, All in all friendly and lovely welcome with average food.

Great welcome from publican Paul, lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. We dined there on three occasions and the food was excellent every time. The place is so popular it is advised to book in advance for dining. We spoke to several customers from various parts of the country, who all agreed that it's a fantastic venue with superb food.

We had sunday lunch on 29 October. We were a family of 15 with 8 adults and 7 children ranging from 16 yrs to 2 yrs old. The menu was excellent and the food even better! The staff could not have done more to look after us. We booked a week before and the table was ready for us as we arrived and the food was presented well and extremely tasty. We will be back!
