Great place, always great food and amazing atmosphere!

If you are beer and ramen lover, this is a must go place. Start from 12 pm to 9 pm for food - ramen, gokzi, chips, ... And 40- choices of beer!!

We booked a table. Then, months later, got an email saying our booking was cancelled because they don’t take bookings anymore. Then, got turned away at the door because we didn’t have a booking.

Amazing brewery, taproom and shop serving their own and guests beers. If you love craft beer you’ll love it here! Dog friendly. Huge taproom and beer garden with a small beer garden out back facing the river.

Loved this place. A wonderful place with a good atmosphere. Large hall and brew room with a great choice of beers and ales, with good selection of glass sizes and taster options. Yuzu eatery can also be found within the hall which complements the brewery perfectly. Nice selection of tasty food with good service. I will definitely be visiting again on my next visit!

We visited this fab place twice in a couple of days, both were a great experience although having just read some other reviews, didn't realise there was a downstairs tap room as well as the upstairs beer hall! A good excuse to go back! Excellent selection of their own beers and a guest beer menu. Our first visit there were only 2 cask beers in the beer hall, but 6 cask on the next day. Seems some other reviews suggest there might be more cask in the downstairs tap room. Food was Korean style Asian and yummy, they also had an offer this week for free kids portion with an adult one but this wasn't advertised anywhere. Fab place and experience, we've visited quite a few tap rooms and personally this was up there with the best. We'd return for sure 🍻 🍺 🍻

Couldn't get in because I turned up with a group of other men, so the bouncer was "suspicious" we were on a stag do. Somewhat baffling to kick out a bunch of mid-30yos talking about their kids, but I suppose I don't understand the danger we posed

Sadly matey boy on the door wouldn't let a group of us in. Mid thirties group looking for a quiet drink (something our friend was really wanting) who really wanted to come here, but because tomorrow was a stag, not allowed to come here. Honestly. Absolutely nuts.

Love this place .. had yummy fries and great beer! Service was amazing, the beer was cracking- Coney. Ventured onto the dark lager … ooooo delish! Great to be on beer garden again!

Cool and quirky venue with a buzzing atmosphere, wide beer selection and great accompanying street food. Your around the small brewery was also great, with a very friendly and informative guide.

Incredible selection of different beers.

Great selection of beers here (I would have loved a couple more guest ciders, but the 1 they had was nice) and a really cool venue. Unfortunately a couple of the taps weren't working so some of the lines we wanted to try were off. The atmosphere was a bit dead, but I appreciate we went on a Thursday so it wasn't going to be super rowdy! A good place to spend an hour or two with friends.

Great product, some fine ales at reasonable prices. The place was packed, lots of kids running around, very noisy. Not the usual ambience of a tap room.

A 5star establishment! Open cavernous area with a huge choice of their craft beer - plus a shop at the front too! Definitely a recommend!

Very rude staff in here couldn't believe I was insulted at the bar before I even gave my order! Haven't been back, it wasn't for me anyway I didn't enjoy their beers at all.

Wonderful venue offering a great range of interesting beers. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Nice and unusual to have a spacious venue in the centre of York for bigger groups. Can’t wait for our next visit

Been several times to this bar! Great atmosphere, great selection of beers (big words from not a beer lover) but also cocktails and other drinks etc. The staff are great fun and friendly, and the beer tour is fab - James conducted the one I was on. Funny chap and knowledgeable about his beer.

A great drinking venue and the food was great too. This is a very popular independent brewery with its own bar.

Absolutely superb, excellent selection of beer, in great condition. Food also excellent and quickly served from order. It is an absolute gem. Well done.

No ones going to have any sympathy for hospitality businesses when they're treated like they are here. 8.45pm and we're loudly told its last orders before 9pm rolls around and it's bellowed that we've 10 mins to vacate the premises. The place has 40 plus people in here, assume brew York are doing well and don't need people about. Nice last ten minutes whilst the two staff stack chairs like they're trying to break the world sound record. Won't be back and makes you wonder how plenty of better tap rooms have already gone bust.

Jorvic spotted this venue, one we have never visited before although we have had their beers elsewhere. Disappointed that there are only two real ales amongst a huge array of fizzy beers. Went for a half of Gyle at 4.9%. A hazy Pale Ale. T'other beer being 5%.. OK but no cash accepted. Similar for interesting Korean food selection. Beer Hall popular with families. ( Some sugar rich sweets on the menu.) Paulicarus likes the loud music, me not so much.

Fabulous selection of beers, the beer float of 4 x 1/3 pint of beers is a great way to try them! Excellent food from Yuzu as always, quick service - recommend the Bao buns & Duck Gyoza - delicious! 😋

Unquestionably the best location in York for trying craft beer. Fantastic and informative tour. Beer garden with all round good vibes. Went with a mixed group as part of a visit to York on the recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. Everyone had a good time. Greeted by cheery and welcoming staff who look the part, and seem to know everything about brewing. Beer selection was solid, even for fussy drinkers. Would recommend to others and will go again next time I'm in York.

Went to visit with a friend after getting a recommendation. Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. Not much of a fan of beer usually but was wonderfully assisted by one of the staff James who pointed me towards a sour beer that I actually really enjoyed and gave me some recommendations for others. Definitely going to make a return visit.

Visited on 3 Feb with my BF and a friend for beer and food. Cool place, was lucky enough to get a booth seat which had become free. Beer was great and reasonably priced. The food was insanely good (I had the chicken and veg gyoza and chicken fried rice) Will be back on next trip to York

Terrible visit this time. Normally good and enjoyable. We sat down on a table with movable benches as we had our 2 year old with us. After ordering on the app for the food and using our table number. Some absolute idiot that was the organiser of the speed quiz came over to the table and placed a reserved card on it for half past six this was at 20 past six after ordering our food at quarter past. There was no spare tables to move onto upstairs. I asked the quiz master in question why he would reserve the table we are sat on without coming and speaking to us and his reply was it's always the quiz on a Sunday and then walked over to other members of staff and gave us funny looks and pointing. One of the brew York staff came over and told us we needed to move for half past and there is tables down stairs. Don't go down stairs as it's freezing down there even with the patio heaters on. Although the food is not the same company. This was poor and had to be returned all frozen food and the first attempt had to be returned as it was cold. The beer was good but for the price you would expect it to be. Think the venue needs to look how they interact with the customer and advice the quiz company that it's not their reputation on the line after bad interactions. Such a shame that I won't return as I really enjoy the beer. REPLY thanks for the reply I appricate your time. We were offered seating after being asked to move the second time by the quiz master not in a tasting room but down stairs and although they are heated by the means you are saying they are still cold maybe after some time being on they get hot but I've been down there many times before and i don't feel it would have been suitible but understand that's down to opinion thankyou. I spoke to the food team on the day they apologised straight away removed the food and remade the order straight away. Dealing with the review and Rectifying the issue directly by replacing the full order. I'm my opinion good quality customer service to make the customer happy and feel happy to spend their hard earned money with them. Thanks for your response I don't review to upset owners I review to help them and help people understand the quality of the establishment and owners respocnes to problems they they know what to expect. Didn’t get within 20 metres of the place. The bouncer shouted that we weren’t welcome and to turn around (there was 6 of us). Didn’t give us any option to understand what his issue was and the bar lost out on £150+ of business. Wouldn’t bother trying ever again. Shambles of a bar, would give it no stars if possible

Brew York is a showpiece craft brewery and beer hall, it has 40+ beer taps (slightly excessive) and street food. It sounds like a dream come true for any beer lover, and indeed, the place has a great room and cool vibe. The beers are varied, quality, and tasty, as one would expect from a brewery. Too many beers but in fairness its a decent place However, not everything is rosy at Brew York. On a recent visit, I encountered very poor service, a rude manager who seemed to have a problem with me and my work colleagues enjoying our drinks at the bar. He slammed his hand on the counter and shouted at us to move away, claiming that we were blocking service. This was absurd, as there was plenty of space to get served and it was a quiet Tuesday evening. I tried to reason with him, but he was rude and he "cut us off". I wondered if he had mistaken us for some rowdy hooligans, or perhaps he was just having a bad day. Either way, it was a very unpleasant experience that spoiled an otherwise enjoyable visit. I wasn't that bothered as we had to vacate to go for a delightful meal at a local tapas place. don't want to state the obvious but we went for a meal and further drinks in two other establishments and we didn't get kicked out of any of them. As I was leaving, I spoke to a member of staff downstairs and she apologised for the manager's behaviour. She was in agreement with my comparison to an appendage. I hope that Brew York will address this issue and ensure that their customers are treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of where they choose to sit or stand. Otherwise, they risk losing their reputation as a great place to drink and dine in York.

Great, buzzy venue. Loads of beer choices. Industrial decor as befits the building. Tasty food (beware the Jumbo Wings are.. Jumbo). A bit cold on our visit, as most places are these days.

Absolute gem of a place to drink and eat. Pretty good value and the beers and food were great too. It's dog friendly too which makes it all the better. Also the staff were super friendly as well, offering our dog treats when we arrived. We were recommended this place by the guy in Little Blondie bakehouse just up the road. All the pubs were packed and we had a golden retriever with us so had trouble finding anywhere to go with him.

Really great choice of beers and the food from YUZU is delicious as well! The atmosphere is best upstairs in the Beer Hall, or in the spacious outside area when it's warm. The staff are always very friendly and polite

A very unique drinking experience in York. With an upmarket crowd and friendly staff. A great selection of interesting house made beers with unique branding and styling. Definitely recommend checking out the dining hall upstairs for some delicious food and the shop for brew york beers and merch at reasonable prices.

Looking for somewhere to have a beer, away from the crowded streets of York; we stumbled upon the place by accident but were pleasantly surprised by the plain, yet cosy and welcoming vibe. It’s quite big and can fit many people. Great choice of beers brewed in-house.

The bar only delivered keg beers - very little craft. Beer was ok.Be wary of the food concession! If you.like salt, this is the place for you! Not the place for a quiet pint or a cosy chat.

Such an extensive beer choice at this Verified Venue it’s advisable to do your homework on the Untappd Beer App beforehand. First time I’ve eaten from Yuzo Street Food - the scran is marvellous and compliments the beers.

We went on a Friday night so was fairly buzzing. We found a spot in the corner and ordered food using the qr code. Between the 2 of us we ordered a katsu curry, 4 jumbo wings and a serve of fries to share. It was busy so food took about 45 mins, and when the food came the fries were cold. Really the should have served the fried when they first came up (would have made the 45 mins go faster too) or not put the fries in the fryer until the wings were going in.

Great place to have a drink. In house Yuzu restaurant is good as well.

First time and great place. So many beers to choose from and the food was also excellent. The only downside for me as an older man was that it was very noisy and difficult to hear my friends.

Fantastic little find and well worth a visit. Based in a part of the city that isn’t too crowded. It’s what I’d refer to as a hidden gem of the city.

Great fresh environment serving a big range of beers and food.

Had to track this down. Very good selection of beers as expected. Very good tap room that is rustic in places but on the whole very comfortable and inviting. Over 30 taps of Brew York and guest beers. Juice Forsyth on draught is superb. Then we have Yuzu street food to compliment it. The Gyoza’s and the boa buns are out of this world. For me this is York’s hidden gem.

Good interior, staff seem to be unarsed about your existence or the sense they would rather be somewhere else. Which I get, but a smile goes a long way.

Fantastic brewery tour on Saturday afternoon - James (Jamie ?) the bar manager was a fantastic guide. The sample beers were excellent - we even had a couple more from the bar afterwards. Great atmosphere and the food looked delicious as it went past (wish we’d have had some) Definitely recommended and great value at just £10 for the tour and 4 sample ales

Good range of beer with something for all tastes, food from Yuzu was tasty although some portions (gyoza for example) were on the small side. Atmosphere is lacking and downstairs taproom is definitely on the chilly side! Bar staff lacked engagement/seemed not to want to be there. Saying that we would still visit again if in the area.

Wanted to go to the bar but only the shop is open on a Tuesday which isn't clear on their Google opening times, so wasted a trip. Will call ahead next time to save me wasting a trip again! Edit: we'd gone to visit the taproom but didn't realise they had different opening hours (not mentioned on Google) until we got to the empty outdoor tables, closed door and saw these opening times. Had been in the shop first but the staff didn't say anything at all so we left. Another couple also arrived at the same time as us and left too once they realised it was closed.

Great taproom room with good beers one. Wonderful set up for watching sport with a whole room with sofas facing a massive screen, definitely the place to go in York when beer and sport are aim of the game

Vast choice of Craft Beer but lacking in Real Ale upstairs in Beer Hall. Head downstairs to Tap Room for Real Ale. Good value Asian Street food. Would have to disagree with response from Brew York. No gas comes in contact with Real Ale. Keg uses CO2 to dispense which adds fizz. It also lasts longer and is easier to dispense which is great for the Landlord. Key Keg is a way of dispensing Real Ale using CO2 without it coming into contact with the beer. Craft beer can be wonderful with myriad flavours but it is not Real Ale.

Bloody gorgeous. 'Lupu Lion'. Came across this beer quite by chance, details of which we won't go into. As IPA/Pale Ale drinker both at home & out, I can honestly say this is up there. Absolutely delish!! And at 5% not to be sniffed at. My hubby & I love craft beer & craft beer places, & regularly visit one local to us (who's name we won't mention, we don't live in york, but visit a bit & we will defo be visiting this place, it looks amazing. Cannot wait. 😃. See you soon

Love it!! We weren’t going to miss the chance to have a drink here while visiting! We love Brew York beers 🍺 they’re dog friendly too and we’re so cute coming to say hi to our poochy and bring her yummy treats. We feasted on the pop up YUZU too - so delicious 🤤

Brewery with gift shop on ground floor and beer hall on the first floor. Hard to realise there was a beer hall there, but nice casual place to taste their beers.

Just dropped in for a beer after a trip round York. We're coming back soon for the brewery tour in a few weeks and I cannot wait! The place has sooo many beers, an amazing bao/noodle bar and the vibes are just great!

Wonderful location. Spacious beer hall upstairs serving well over 10 lines of beers. Korean street food vendor that smelt amazing (sadly didn’t get to try). The downstairs tap room is spacious and has more cask lines with and outside space overlooking the river

Best beer in York - possibly best beer in all of Yorkshire.

Amazing beer selection! Quite loud atmosphere.

I mean the beers here are incredible as I'm sure you know. We did the brewery tour and while there is not much to see, 4 thirds and a very entertaining tour guide in James for £10 is astounding value. The beer hall hosts about 30 taps with everything on offer plus some amazing on site street food of Korean noodles and katsu curry. If you're in York and like beer do not miss this place.

Very nice beer however place totally let down by staff. Noone seemed to show any enthusiasm for customer service or knew anything about the beers on offer. Then to top it off only after my friend had bought some beer glasses downstairs was he told that they no bags or tissue paper by receptionist who was glued to her phone. Will not be returning.

It is a unique Brewery experience! I have done the beer tasting and the brewery tour and it was totally a fantastic experience. I would encourage to have a microphone when conducting the tour but besides it an unforgettable visit!
