Bosham Inn in Chichester

We have eaten at this in tonight, greeted at the door, lovely atmosphere. However our food was decidedly lack lustre, especially my fish and chips. The batter was undercooked and had to be scraped off the fish, it was a gooey mush. The staff were very busy and didn’t come to ask if everything was ok until my family had finished there food (not there fault) however when I pointed out the batter remains that were inedible it was met with indifference. I don’t think we will be returning to eat there.

Went for a quiet date night with my wife. We were shown straight to our table and drinks brought while we decided what to eat. Our waiter Brian was friendly and chatty, and advised us about the dishes as he had eaten them himself and obviously knew what he was talking about. We shared the sticky platter, the minted lamb koftas were the best, but please, a platter for two people should have EVEN numbers of items to avoid the awkward situation of “you have it. No, you have it!” Mains were Duo of Lamb and the Ham hock leek and cheese pie. Brian kept a watchful eye on us to make sure we were happy with everything and keeping us topped up with drinks and funny stories. We weren’t going to have a desert but with barely an arm twist, we had the meringue and the honey pot. The cute little honey pot which the pudding was presented in was so perfect, it was hard to believe that it was actually edible and made from chocolate! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and it won’t be long before we are back with our friends again. Thank you

A nice welcome looked a nice vintage inn Our waitress clearly did not want to work sundays.. and the drinks she gave me was wrong. When questioned she said same as you had before/#. We were maybe just unlucky

This is a lovely little pub/restaurant. They serve a wide variety of food and the staff are always friendly. There is a dog friendly area and also a dining area which is dog free if you don’t want to be by dogs. I have been a few times and food is always served quickly and it’s good portion sizes. Their fish and chunky chips are especially yummy.

Food was good however waitress had a bad attitude! I felt it was an effort to serve us and she showed little interest from the time we were there. We had to go to the bar and order coffees as she didn’t come back to ask us .

Such a lovely night, gorgeous food, lovely waitress, nice warm friendly atmosphere. Server Sophie L was really great advising on menu and making us at home. Music background level, chatter was a nice buzz around us, just good night.

We visited the Bosham inn for a business lunch, Carmelle greeted us (and my dog) with a warm smile, offer of drinks and great food advice (we both have allergies). We sat in the window, and ate the best steak and chips that we have eaten in a while. We often frequent high-ems chain restaurants locally but today’s food topped the bill! Carmelle was fantastic

We met friends at Bosham Inn last evening (16 Oct 2023). We have been there previously several times because the menu is excellent, setting and atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable, and staff are friendly, professional and amazing. Sheila served us last evening. She was very good and polite too, and also the gentleman who showed us to our table and was serving too. Thank you to the Bosham Inn and your wonderful staff, and brilliant Chef. The food is delicious and great value for money.

I dined at the Bosham this evening enjoying the excellent Orange Parfait followed by an equally delicious Fish & Chip main. The service was absolutely superb, incredibly attentive & great conversation. I was served by the extremely artistic, articulate & charming Sophie. Ask about her Art. Will definitely return.

Not the best food, my dinner was overcooked, the chicken was very chewy, bacon was cremated, I left half of it. Very small portions. Puddings were nice. Service is very slow, it took two and half hours for lunch, we waited nearly an hour for our main course. Would not go back.

We met friends, who were holidaying in the area, for lunch and since they have a dog we ate in the bar area. This was perfect and relaxed and a nice touch for dog owners. Our food was good, everyone liked what they had chosen, though our waitress was lacking in any social graces, with “What do you want.” This didn’t spoil our meal since the person at the bar was excellent and friendly, but I’d like the server at least to be interested and polite. However, we have been here many times over the years and know that this is not the norm. Having eaten in many local pubs and restaurants, the Bosham Inn is one we will return to for relaxed and reasonably priced pub grub.
