Blue Lotus in Tandridge

To be honest I had been put off by the prices , but my error was comparing these to other Indian restaurants. This is like no other local establishment. First of all , the service is faultless. Secondly the food is outstanding quality and with unique ( for me ) presentation . My seafood byriani came with a puff pastry topping like a pie , which the chef explained let the byriani cook in its own steam. Beautiful. Every dish was a delight. And cost wise, we brought enough away for a light supper tomorrow. Thoroughly recommend.

What a lovely restaurant. The food is exceptional and the staff attentive without being intrusive. There is less choice than in many Indian restaurants in the UK but the quality, quantity and presentation is way ahead of the norm and the chef was happy to adjust one of the dishes (from lamb to chicken) to suit us. He even came out of the kitchen to check the restaurant guests were happy. Friendly manager. Charming waiter. Brilliant chef. Nice surroundings. Excellent food. Very happy customers. We will be back.

Surprised to see so many positive reviews after visiting here. Curry was bland and quality of meat low. The ambience of the venue has always been odd given the layout, but the bottom line is the food wasn’t great. Would not go back there and there are better curries in Caterham.

Highly recommended- we have been to this restaurant several times with family and friends and the service and food is consistently excellent. My personal favourite dishes are the tandoori prawns, kofta and chilli naan! I this this is one of the best restaurants in th area so please try

I don't often eat in Indian Restaurants very much, and I came here for a nice work- do and it was so lovely and fresh! such an amazing atmosphere, food was incredible and the service was outstanding. I would love to come here again!

This is the best restaurant in Caterham - I’ve been to the Blue Lotus for dinner five times since it opened and every time the food and service have been excellent. The staff are always friendly and attentive - they are happy to explain the different dishes on the menu to you if you need help deciding what to order. The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are generous. The prices are very reasonable considering what you get. My personal favourite on the menu is the lamb biryani - I have ordered it several times and it is one of the best biryanis I have had. They also have a well-stocked bar in the restaurant with a nice selection of drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend the Blue Lotus to anyone who likes Indian food. I have been living in Caterham for 17 years and have tried all the restaurants here - Blue Lotus is definitely the best.

Been there second time and was very impressed with amazing flavours from starters to mains. Lamb Biryani was one of best the I ever had. Will be back soon.

I dined hear last night 15th of September after a friend of mine told me he once had a carry out from there and how good it was and how all the staff were helpful and extremely friendly and I’m pleased to say that was exactly my experience, after the poppadums and pickles (the pickles were very good and spicy) I had the chicken lollipop to start, gorgeous, and the dip that came with it was good, for my main I had the pork cheek vindaloo with mushroom rice, it was really good and tasty I also had the aubergine bharata as I side, again a very tasty dish, the place itself is big and bright with a modern twist to the furnishings, the toilets were very clean which is always a bonus, all in all it was a very nice experience and one which I will be repeating very soon. Excellent

Excellent and friendly service - staff are very keen to share their knowledge of the food. Flavours are sophisticated and beautifully cooked, especially the vegetable samosa starter with yogurt and chickpeas. The peshwari naan was also a real hit on the side of our meat curries. We were given 10% off with a Miller Centre theatre ticket, which was an added bonus. We will be back!

Amazing authentic food in Caterham We were looking at the menu outside and the owner persuaded us that the good would be very good . The food was fantastic we loved it . From the salted Lassi, street food starters, spicy mains, dum biryani and masala chai it was a very special experience. Everyone was attentive and we met the chef. By far the best Indian food ever eaten in the uk. Wonderful attentive and friendly staff, comfy chairs and a belly full of food. The experience of Indian tastes comes as well with the puddings. Enjoy!

The staff here are so so lovely and the food was seriously delicious as well. We got to meet the chef after our meal and you can tell everyone really cares about looking after you and are passionate about the food ingredients too. Loved it!
