Beach Arms in Basingstoke and Deane

Came in for breakfast with my family. the food was hot, tasty and great value for money Also the chef Martin made us laugh.

Firstly I would like to start with what a lovely bunch of people you have working for you. They are an absolute credit to you. Everyone we encountered here from your manager to the housekeeping staff were absolutely lovely. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and had breakfast and dinner with you on both nights and were surprised at the quality as your prices are very low, so expectations not the highest, but our meals were fab. We will definately stay again when in the area. My only critisism would be that I agree you are due a refurbishment, but that did not affect our stay in any way.

My brother invited us to join them for lunch at the Beach Arms-he was paying so another good reason to go!! The food was good, unlimited coffee and nice staff. A nice morning out

Went to the Beach Arms with the family and we had a lovely time. Carvery was fresh and the meat was tender and juicy. Didn’t have room for dessert but will certainly be sure to enjoy one next time.

We stayed here as we were attending Carfest which is just 4 miles down the road so ideally situated for it. Our rooms were nice and clean and welcoming. Nice white linen on the beds and a super rainfall shower. The hotel is adjoining to the pub, so easy access for food and drinks and they do a fabulous breakfast. It is 6.99 for all you can eat english buffet so we were well set up for the day. Also a big thank you to the staff who were all super lovely and even sorted us out an early check in - much appreciated

Having passed here a few times, we thought we’d give it ago! Staff were pleasant enough, but Jezzzzz the place needs a deep clean. The floor was filthy the decor needs updating and this was 12pm, so just opened. I’m sure the cleaner was off because if not? you need to get a new one!!

The Beach Arms is really good value formoney. Ww had 2 carvery lunches and a drink each for just over £20. Wehadthechoice of turkeygammon and beef with a good selectio ofvegetables. The puddings looked delicious, however i couldnt manage one as i was stuffed after my roast. I will definately have one next time! Plenty of parking available with a nice seating area out front.

The food is spot on and you can’t beat it for value for money. Easy to feed the family without breaking the bank. Nice bunch of staff too.

Frequently visit the Beach for great value meals and this was an impromptu visit as couldn’t be bothered to cook. Lovely meal as usual, lovely staff and we will be back soon 😊

We downloaded the voucher for the £5 pizza offer. They were freshly made and really tasty with plenty of toppings on. The service is order at the bar so really simple and we were amazed at how they produced their pizzas so quickly. We could see them make the pizzas next to the carvery and we’re very impressed.

The staff were lovely is the best thing I can say about this place. The rooms were tired, dark, slightly damp & musty. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable & the pillows lumpy. We stayed as we had a wedding to attend locally & so knew a lot of the other guests & the running theme of the rooms appeared to be dead flies, as every room appeared to have its own collection.

The help yourself buffet style breakfast was very good and a great price. Plenty of choice which was topped up regularly with fresh cooked food. Nice staff too

We stayed in the hotel this was very clean just a little tired in places ie paintwork needed freshening up. The shower tray was broken but was very clean . On the way to the room there was a horrendous smell in the hallway of our room it smelt like drains also the noise of the radiators coming on in the morning was so noisy . We ate in the pub the night we arrived and had a carvery which was okay plates were cold so the food went cold very quickly but the taste was good. I also ordered a cocktail at the bar showed them the picture but it looked nothing like it .We paid for breakfast with our hotel room this was not the best and the service was terrible . We had to wait for the chef to come out he kept disappearing also the plates were still coated in dried food when I asked for a new plate the next one wasn’t any better and the chef didn’t seem too happy about it me asking.The food didn’t get filled up very quickly people were waiting which then made the food cold .Seemed very disorganised.

The interior is poor, very run down and everywhere is simply dirty. I’ve come at all meal times throughout the day in various months, it’s simply the same. Although this doesn’t affect the review, I came for a late lunch/early dinner and got a standard large carvery and usually some things aren’t how I like it and oh well. Today but cauliflower cheese was hard and wasn’t very cooked, my potatoes were hard and burnt, I couldn’t even bite into my yorkshire puddings, I put into my chicken and there’s just bloody vain things (the chickens fault not there’s - I also may be picky with chicken) all this aside the gammon was nice. Every time I go it seems to just get worst, the servers were nice although I was interrupted whilst eating to be asked if my 1yr old was finished because she stopped eating? Although not everyone has been around babies so I think I understand how it may have looked?

The decor was depressing and in need of redoing, there were cracks in the ceiling, marks were things must have been hung up. There were patches missing on the wall and it looked like wallpaper must have been plastered over, the carpets looked dirty, the tables and chairs were old looking and uncomfortable. We had carvery on our visit and it was not enjoyable, the meat was cold, dry and had over cooked hard bits, the chef that served us was very stingy with the meat, It was a portion i would give to a 3 year old not an adult. The sides ie vegetables, potatoes, gravy etc were cold. It really was unpleasant and very disappointing, i would say one of the worst we have had. The staff were pleasant enough but they really looked unhappy.

Regular visitor to the Beach Arms so know exactly how things work and the menu. We booked for a family lunch on Sunday and as good as always. The staff are always so friendly and the food is really good value. It is our go to for a family get together as the youngsters can have one of their pizzas or burgers whilst we enjoy the roast.

Food was decent but the guy serving was miserable and very unfriendly. The rest of the staff were nice but the guy serving breakfast needs some serious lessons in customer service.

Booked a table for mothers Day as we knew it would be busy (we usually just pop in). The meal was delicious as usual and the staff really friendly. We use this place quite often, and it never lets us down.

Family visit for the young man’s birthday. The pizzas were great with lots of toppings, and a good choice for drinks

We had a great visit on valentines evening. They were running unlimited pizza a Prosecco. The pizzas were amazing and I think we definitely made a dent in their Prosecco stores😂 really good value for money

Haven't been here for years since we moved away, but back in the area to visit friends so thought we would call back to one of our old haunts. It has definitely changed a bit since our last visit and now has a pizza bar and a much more extensive menu whereas it just did the carvery on our last visit. We stuck with the carvery choice as that is what we had gone for, and it was bloody lovely!! They had this really delicious cheesy potato mash as one of the vegetable choices and that along with the roasted onions made for a really tasty meal. We all said how lovely our meals were. It would have been rude not to have had a dessert after travelling all that way, so we did and they didn't disappoint wither. 10/10 - well done Beaches Arms

Would not recommend with family especially if you have older relatives. We booked for the carversy for my disabled uncle (60...his birthday) and my grand mother (82) we were given a table which was virtually impossible to eat on due to the amount of wobble. Bless the staff they tried to even this out but even after 10-15 minutes of fighting with serviettes it was still extremely wobbly. Not ideal for two family members with mobility /disabled/co-ordination issues. As it was fully booked there were no spare tables or accommodations that could be made. (Again this is not an issue for floor staff but the pub manager as this is obviously a known issue) Either move the table. Find a more permentant solution so your floor staff are not having to spend time dealing with trying to.ammend the situation with menus/serviettes.

This is my fav stop when cycling Hampshires pristine country roads. Ordered the Iced latte, passionfruit soda, hot honey porker pizza, philly cheese fries side, home baked sticky toffee pudding & the crispy fried chicken carolina reaper, whitby scampi main, home baked brownie. The service was nothing shy of epic, always feel welcome like an old friend or family which really is nice. Charles & Reece were making sure the meal was perfect, and sharing fun stories about hot sauces when they brought out the new Carolina Reaper crispy chicken. Staff here are golden!

We as a family love to spend Christmas Day at The Beach Arms, the service we receive is always really fast and friendly and the food always looks appetising and tastes great. Being able to get our Carvery meal when we need to helps as sometimes time isn’t always on our side. The whole family enjoyed their meal this year and we had a lovely time together. Thank you to all the staff for making our day that extra bit special.

We booked our family Christmas lunch here this year. It is the first time we have ever eaten out on Christmas Day and we’re really looking forward to it as we enjoy our visits to the Beach Arms. The meals and service were absolutely fantastic, I really don’t know how they do it-I struggle cooking Christmas lunch just for my family!!! Everyone really enjoyed their meals, and the staff did a great job keeping us all fed and watered. Well done guys, we will be booking again next year 🤗

My visit to the beach arms turned out to be quite possibly one of the worst hospitality experienced I’ve ever had. First of, it was 18:00 on a Saturday and there were literally 3 other tables. It is a bit out the way, so I gave it benefit of doubt. I used to come here as a kid and Saturdays would be RAMMED from 9-9 open to close and food was really good, as was the service. Now, I don’t know what they hire the staff for. They literally pointed us to our table and then completely left us to it. The only times they communicated was to bring us drinks. The roast was okay, but the veggie chicken I ordered took 40 minutes to arrive… did I mention there were 3 other tables? Either the chefs lost the ticket, or they just didn’t care even slightly enough to get food sent out. The quorn chicken they use is literally microwaved, so how in gods EARTH it took 45 minutes to get to the table, is absolutely beyond me. The staff just seem careless, purely there for an easy time and money. The ONLY reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the manager gave us a minor discount and apologised. I would certainly never return here. Sad because I have a lot of family memories here. I don’t know how a place that used to be BOOMING with business, is now a sad, empty place. The photo I took of the check was around 5 minutes before food arrived.

Went for our annual family breakfast with Santa. Great breakfast for the price. Exceptional service from a young man called Charles (who wasn't even officially on shift!) who made sure my son had the best possible experience.
