The best restaurants serving Spanish food in St James's City of London, Westminster London

Searching for somewhere to eat prior to watching a show, I came across The Port House, what an absolute treat! Lovely cosy decor, and the good and drink selection was fabulous. Started with a Vermouth/PX blend, roasted almonds, pork belly bites and Padron peppers. Continued with a selection of gorgeous tapas. So much choice, cooked beautifully and absolutely delicious. Cannot rate this place highly enough!

Visited here with my sister. Previously I have always sat outside in the Summer but absolutely lived sitting inside on the stools watching the staff at work. Absolutely nothing went out until the chef had checked it. The service is friendly and efficient,your drinks constantly topped up and food is served when it's ready. We had the ham croquettes, pan con tomato, patatas bravas and seabream special, all delicious. My favourite place to go for lunch in London.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, unfortunately my hopes were shattered. Let me start by saying I had received fantastic service at the run up to our dinner when I queried the menu or the dress code and that is where the positives end. We arrived for our pre-theatre dinner a little late and apologised. Once we were seated we realised it didn't make a jot of difference as we were the only people in the entire restaurant. I asked if they were expecting more people to which they replied yes it's early. Looking back we should have left at this point as it was a huge red flag. We ordered cocktails as I'd seen some great cocktails on their social media. What we got was utterly disappointing. They were served in some plastic tumblers which made us feel like we were toddlers. Worst of all, they just didn't taste nice. The flavours were all wrong and they didn't go together. Something important seemed missing They were not cheap at 16 pounds a pop either. So we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and when our starter was served tucked in. My husband took one mouthful and looked disgusted. He said "I'll eat anything, you know me but I just don't want to eat this. I tried it and again it was just not balanced at all. All style and no substance. My starter was edible enough so I ate it as I was hungry but it was not what I would call tasty. Mains arrived and we considered asking to pay up and cut our losses but we stuck it out. Hoping for a change with our mains. It didn't come. My husband had the chicken shawarma, which could have come from a kebab shop. I had the trout, which looked and tasted more like salmon and which was not cooked properly in the middle. We'd had enough we asked for the bill. We stated our issues and asked for the 12.5 service charge to be removed as this added insult to injury. There was no attempt to apologise or rectify our evening. We left, glad that we were out of that restaurant. The service was poor, no one asked us at any point how our food was as we would have told them. The food was beyond poor. The drinks were poor. Added to this there was zero atmosphere in the restaurant as we were the only customers. A full house of disappointment. Avoid if you have any tastebuds or taste.

Stumbled across this place while looking for another restaurant. Was able to get a cone of jamon pieces that were totally delectable at only 4 pounds. They sell several types of iberico and pata Negra in sealed pouches. Yummy

Genuine excellent service from this team. Came in for a glass of their Spanish rose and stayed for 2. I’ve also eaten here on many occasions and the food is top notch . The atmosphere is typically Spanish. If you visit London then visiting Condesa is a must.

Restaurante que cobra £ 1. 50 para sanitarios. No puedo creer que sea legal en el Reino Unido. Feliz de servir muchos líquidos, pero no feliz de lidiar con las consecuencias. ¿Alguna vez pensó en proporcionar fichas para que los clientes usen los baños? No porque usted es comerciantes de estafa maximizando las ganancias sobre la experiencia del cliente. ¡Por favor, no vayas a este lugar!

Wonderful atmosphere here and the food is beautiful, it's packed full of flavour. I had a chilli marmalade cocktail which on paper sounded rather strange but in reality, tasted fantastic!!

Only mange to have 1 drink, went on a Wednesday mid afternoon. First waiter we had he was very friendly & nice, recommended a drink for me as I don’t drink alcohol. Second waitress has an attitude, didn’t get our drink…waited 20 minutes for our drinks and the waitress had an attitude & rolled her eyes at us…not a lot of choice for mocktails & mocktails are more expensive then a cocktail. Won’t be coming back!
