Went on a Saturday at 4pm with my partner as he likes his seafood. The service: A waitress took half of our drinks order and rushed away, then came back 5 minutes later to take our drinks order again. We ordered the food at the same time. There was a confused waiter who kept on bringing us things we hadn't ordered. The food: We ordered the Earl grey lemonade, the baby octopuses, mozzarella and tomato skewers, garlic bread and spaghetti & meatballs. My earl grey lemonade had no hints...

Have visited this La Tasca before and it is always consistent and my style of eating (little bits of everything) there were 2 of us and we ordered 6 Tapas dishes between us (see photo) the meatballs were delicious and the beetroot salad was too. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and used my taste card which gives you 2 for 1 so was an absolute bargain at £25 for the 2 of us and I would recommend La Tasca and indeed Tastecard. I will be returning here again.

Gran experiencia! One of the many very helpful staff told us that we could come back in half an hour, and when we did we didn't need to go up to her to ask as she came up to us straight away and took us to our table. Absolutely shocking service. Cancelled our starter after an hours wait. Tapas was good but then waited another hour for paella which was so bland we had to ask for condiments and I never add salt to food! We had empty glasses when the main arrived so asked for more wine. It didn't arrive so asked again. It then arrived after we had eaten what we could of the awful food served to us. Basically we ate without drinks. We would have had better service and food if we'd stayed at home. Something for restaurants to consider if people choose to eat out. When we asked for the bill and also when the table was cleared not one member of staff asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. Perhaps they know what they are serving. With so many great places to go don't waste your time going here.

As it was a Sunday there was really good offer on which meant 40% off food if you downloaded the app. We were a party of 6 and ordered good selection of tapas to share, meatballs, padron peppers, grilled asparagus, calamari, chicken breast in white wine and then all the usual dishes you always go for; olives, patatas bravas and garlic bread etc. Another nice offer was bottle of prosecco for anyone in the party having a birthday, I did luckily enough so the waiter appeared with a bottle of Cordoniu, all really rather nice. Having been to other La Tasca restaurants in the past and thoroughly enjoying my experience I decided to visit this one and my word I was so disappointed. Seated no problem, food order was taken no problem and that's about it... starters arrived at different times whilst mine was fine my girlfriend left most of hers due to the gluten free bread being solid. Our paella arrived before our starters had been cleared and even having left most of her starter we weren't asked if everything had been ok with the food - a question that you would ask if someone had left most of their food surely?? The paella was really not great compared to other La Tasca restaurants I've visited, it was really rather bland and while the chicken, prawns and squid tasted alright the mussels had definitely seen better days and weren't great. Again we weren't asked during or after our meal if everything was alright otherwise I would've let one of the team members know! All in all I unfortunately won't be returning to this particular La Tasca again and judging by some of the recent reviews neither will a few people. Shame as it's in a lovely area of London!

Me and my partner visited la tasca for dinner after spending the day in London. Although he had been previously to this establishment It was my first time here. We both ordered breads, mine- garlic bread served with oil ( gluten free) and my partner- bread with oil and sherry. When I saw our waitress coming towards us with two lots of bread I was pleased as I was quite hungry. However she placed one plate in front of my partner and then placed the other plate on another table. Confused I thought maybe our waitress had forgotten my order. When we did get the attention of another waitress and asked where my breads were she apologised and said that she didn't realise that the other waitress had put through garlic bread and would be bringing it out shortly. When it finally came out, it was rock hard!! It tasted like stale bread slightly warmed up. I serve gluten free bread where I work and never is it served rock hard. I ended up leaving most as it was hurting my teeth to eat. We ordered the valenciana paella to share. Having never had paella before I have nothing to compare it to but if that's what paella tastes like then I'll be giving it a miss next time. It was bland, had no chorizo that I could see or taste, max 6 little bit of chicken and 2 of the muscles were grey- not the usual orange colour they should be. We never had a check back although the table next to us did. Even when clearing the plates away, we did not get asked how everything was. We asked for the bill. We both found it quite rude to see that service charge was added to the bill. We did ask the waitress to remove this as We didn't feel it was deserved. 95% of the time when dining out I will leave 10% service charge once the bill has been paid- more if the service and food has been great. Unfortunately on this occasion neither the food or service was good enough. Not sure I'll be returning

Our waiter was so friendly and casual, he sat down with is while he took the order and made plenty of reccomendations to help us choose! Everything was incredible we chose two dishes each plus some bread and cured meat, which was all in all plenty for the three of us. The jug of sangria tasted so good, just like being in Spain! As a regular of La Tasca for many years, I was generally quite disappointed. The menu had reduced quite significantly missing quite a few personal favourites, printed on an A3 sheet of paper, we had to ask for the little A5 page of chef specials as 'there wasn't enough to go around for each table'.The food that did arrive, arrived at an average time, and was good, however we did have to keep asking where a few of the dishes we ordered were.Even though it was a Friday evening (around 7pm) the restaurant was not at full capacity, so there's no real reason why our dishes didn't all come at the same time. Each time we asked about a missing dish, it arrived in under 1 minute later. For sure the standards all around have dropped, even their classic mayonnaise mix was not up to scratch.Such a shame really.Staff we're very friendly

We have been to La Tasca Restaurants many times and had great experiences in them especially the one near London Victoria in addition to other locations. So what better place to take friends from overseas when we took them to London for the day or so I thought. On entering the restaurant we were met by this lady in black who could easily have been someone that started work that day as had no uniform, connection to La Tasca, no smile or any customer service at all.Shown to our table we were then left for quite a while and had to catch the eye of a waiter - again not in any uniform - could have been another customer albeit he was carrying a tray!!After a further period a waitress in uniform came and took our order although she wasn't sure if the menus ingredients when questioned - but this could have been her lack of English? The food came and it was as expected and was readily eaten due to our wait to be served. One of our party had mobility issues and the main toilets were down a number of stairs so asked to use the disabled toilets - only up a few stairs!!! One member of staff told us it was out of order and another just broken - we were eventually told that it had been out of order for quite a period of time - not acceptable with the Equality Act - how has La Tasca allowed this?We went to pay and use our 40% Sunday discount but the staff could not accept it as no wifi in the Restuarant (even though they have their own App) - they told me I had to go out of the restaurant and go down the street to get a connection to get the code and the discount !! A Farce for sure!!Any restaurant like this should have wifi as standard but especially so that customers can use their App.The bill came back after this debacle with a tapas included that we hadn't even had - gambas! So they tried again and printed another receipt and another wait!! The next table also had problems with 20 % discount and not 40% discount given as it should - the tills should be set for 40% on a Sunday surely and not 20%?!No customer service or Las Tasca style service here - is this really part of the La Tasca chain - I would question it!Please Go to Victoria but I wouldn't recommend here - have emailed head office re these issues but no reply to date

The bill was brought before we asked for it and they forgot to ask for our tastecards even though we had told them we had them on arriving so we had to send the bill back to be re-done. Confusion over our booking should have been a warning for the dining experience ahead. The concept of tap water was alien to our server who brought soda water instead. That issue rectified leads us to the food. Tasteless and bland would be a generous review for what we were served but we had the delight of having lukewarm dishes pleased in front of us. Our daughters meal arrived 15mins before our did but as we were on our way to a theatre show did not have enough to time to go elsewhere. 2 attempts to get the bill right with additional items and Childs drink charged incorrectly has me delighted to leave a tourist trap. Looking at the receipt later I noticed the 'service charge' had been added back on after I'd requested it removed. While I can't prove it, my daughter was physically sick 2 hours later, in the theatre, and I blame the lukewarm chicken she was served! A lesson learned and I'll never us this chain again!

I was looking forward to eating paella at this restaurant, there aren't enough Spanish chains where I live, and this restaurant looked the part with quirky decor and rustic features as we entered. We visited on a Friday and had booked a table for 4pm but there was no need, the restaurant wasn't busy but started to fill up by about 5.30 when we had finished eating. The food was tasty, we ordered the flatbread for a starter (be warned, this is basically a pizza! I was very confused when it arrived thinking it was going to be like a flat garlic bread but it came with loads of tomato sauce and chorizo on top.) - it was tasty but I had to check what I'd ordered. The paella was a large portion, we had one to share, and it was great tasting. We ordered the Carne version which was chicken and chorizo. We also ordered a tapas as a side dish, one of the new pork Meatbombs on the menu which was delicious and in a tasty balsamic sauce. If you're looking at menus online be warned the one in the restaurant was very different to the one I'd been looking at on the website - not everything was on there. Service was good, a little slow for how quiet the restaurant was but the waitresses were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely go back, but recommend perhaps visiting when the restaurant is busier to enjoy more of an atmosphere!

Me and my family (total of 3) decided to go here as it worked with our Gourmet Card (25% off!!). We loved our starter which consisted of traditional Spanish hams! We then had a mixed paella for 3 and it was lovely! For deserts we had a chocolate/caramel cake with a strawberry sorbet. My only complaint was about the _slower_ service. We had to wait a long time for our deserts - but to be fair it was getting busy. Finally, the waitresses were absolutely lovely and very helpful. They helped to make the experience enjoyable before we went to see Thriller !Give it a visit!

Meal ok not great and definitley not true Spanish but fine enough. Service was really good though we had Polish waiter Kalim and he was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble and service was quick and effortless.Would recommend to a friend and would go again but don't set too high expectation.

Part of a chain offering a range of Spanish Tapas. Seating on multiple levels with only a small area accessible without steps.Staff where cheerful and approachable but service was very, very slow. A number of items weren't available on visit as the menu is being updated.Food was pretty good, the tapas dishes where delicious although the paella was a little bland. Drinks menu was varies but soft drinks are only server in the trendy glass bottles at significant mark up.Probably wouldn't visit again, there are better locations in the chain and when in the centre of Covent Garden a lot of other places to choose from.

We have used this chain before and although never as good as independent tapas restaurants, this one made us less likely to return! We ordered bread while waiting and got four minuscule slices between three people for £3! My daughter ordered paella and we asked for our tapas to arrive at the same time as it takes quite a while to prepare. The paella was piping hot and tasty. The tapas were barely luke warm! Whilst the manager / supervisor apologised, he failed to offer a refund, replacement, complimentary drink or anything. This was the most expensive meal we had in London and was our most disappointing. It was our second visit. Whilst willing to give it a second chance, we won't give it a third!

The five of us had a delicious meal. It was nice to able to choose a variety of dishes and to share them. That's why tapas is such a good choice. The wines and service were excellent. Our waiter, Ruben, was very helpful, efficient & welcoming.

I had a wonderful tapas meal here last night with 3 friends. The restaurant is very conveniently located in Covent Garden, the food was delicious and the staff were fantastic. Our waitress Patricia was excellent, she was very friendly, we asked for her advice on different dishes and she was super helpful, she suggested which wine would go well with our meal and by the end of our meal she had even taught us some Spanish phrases! Overall a wonderful experience. I will definitely go back.

We dined as a large group before the theatre and ate from the party menu. It was such great value! All of the food was really tasty and portions very generous for the price of the menu. Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout and it was great that we were sitting in our own separate area. A great experience and we'll come back again!

I will review only the fact that after getting my email address through the reservation system this restaurant has decided to write to me without giving me a chance to unsubscribe. It was a busy evening but a wait of over 20 minutes before a drinks order was taken seemed rather excessive. When drinks were eventually served the glasses were red hot which was not how I wanted to drink my sangria - warm - and not the best way to enjoy what is normally a rather refreshing drink. I'm also not to convinced about how the rstuarant served a liqueur coffee at the end of the meal, certainly not what I expected and not something I would recommend to others.

For starter I had the tortilla espanola which was very good. However, the paella lacked any real flavour. The waffle for dessert were overcooked (I couldn't cut through it, so hard) and the plate it was served on was not properly clean. Nice cappucino to finish.

It's strange as when we arrived, it was all very welcoming from both bar staff and the female hostess (in grey top - Fri 18th Mar) and everyone was very welcoming and smily. No tables were ready so we stood about while they set the table up in front of us.It's a big place, all black and red and very comfortable too. It was fairly busy for a Friday early evening, but not packed out, so had a nice buzz.We ordered and food service was pretty quick and the food was very good indeed. Chorizo was lovely as were the padron pimento, bit easy simple dishes though. The chorizo and sausage dish was our favourite though. Really tasty.Portion sizes are a little meagre for the price you pay.Trying to get more drinks or attention of any waitresses from then though proved impossible. We waited for ages to get drinks, ended up ordering at the bar. Although they were still friendly, it was just a little poor service. When trying to pay for the bill (after waiting an age for table to be cleared) the original Hostess that net us earlier said 'your waitress will be with you soon' but she wasn't and hadn't been that's why I asked. I thought it was an odd response to be honest. We waited for ages to pay to be honest and felt ignored after food arrived, hence the 3 star review.Started well, went a little downhill after, let down due to poor attentiveness and a curt response when we had already been left waiting for a long time.

We took advantage of our Tesco clipboard vouchers and booked a table for Sunday lunch time. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy when we called. The vouchers were only valid for about half of the menu - so be aware. The service wasn't particularly swift but it was polite. We went for a tapas selection. Unfortunately when the food arrived half of it was hot, the rest not. We asked for this to be replaced and in time it was. When we did get our food cooked and hot it was great. The best dish was baked bake with a chilli jam topping.

I don't know where to start - Awful! Visited here on a Wednesday night, the service was shocking, food was disgusting, when it eventually arrived. Salad (4 lettuce leaves between 6!) - Black hair in one of the dishes, hard garlic bread again 4 small slices between 6! I honestly was so shocked at this place, came to dine in London and wish we had just gone to KFC. If it wasn't for being with other family I would have walked out. The manager said nothing but 'sorry' and 'I only have one out of hands' to everything, never any explanation. If you're visiting London for one night only don't waste your time here!!

Came here in a busy Friday night and would not return to this branch. Afters ordering it took 20+ mins to receive our drinks. The waitress had no idea what drinks were on offer and was genuinely confused the whole time we were there. We had to wait around half an hour for our food. We ordered 3 tapas dishes and a sharing paella. Whilst we were waiting for our food we noticed the table next to us go a paella dish, however after a coupe of minutes the waitress went over took the dish off thier table and placed it in ours, hoping we wouldn't notice it had been on a different table before ours. It didn't look like the other table had touched the dish, however it out us off our food majorly. We would have asked for it to be replaced Hiwever we were not sure the waitress would understand our request and we did not want to wait another half an hour! The only good thing about this trip was that one of our party had a la tasca card which got us 20% off.

We have been to La Tasca in different locations in the UK but this was unfortunately the worst. We has booked a table for a Birthday celebration and was looking forward to introduce 2 of our guests to the Spanish Tapas . However, we ordered our starters and our main tapas dishes and they arrived quickly.....maybe a little too quickly. Our main dishes arrived in abundance and when we questioned the waitress she then proceeded to bring along our starters.......this was not a good start. Eating tapas is about taking your time over sharing food and we felt rushed and over loaded with tepid food. There was so much of it at once you couldn't eat any of it at an enjoyable temperature. An issue I have had which has caused me concern is I ordered bread and oil to start(gluten free as I am intolerant) I was expecting small pieces of rustic bread and oil, not a shop bought bread roll which unfortunately was not gluten free! I won't go into details! This really disappointed me as did the quality of the food, the potato bratas was cold and the chorizo just swimming in oil all the other dishes were just mediocre

Atmosphere was awful & we were packed in like cattle. The service was poor & our main courses were brought out 15 minutes apart. The food itself was absolutely diabolical & extremely overpriced for the quality of it! We eat better tapas from a supermarket for a quarter of the price. I would not recommend eating at this La Tasca!

If you're looking for authentic tapas or anything with flavour - do not visit! I already knew La Tasca wasn't an authentic Spanish restaurant, so I already lowered my expectations upon visiting. We were seated promptly and the food arrived very quick, but this is where it all went down hill. Most of the tapas dishes I ordered were all very bland. Nothing had any flavour, it tasted like it was a budget frozen ready meal. Also, I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and this was basically watered-down coke - barely any trace of alcohol in it. I will definitely not be visiting again.

I am not going even go to details... Bad experience, slow service at all points of the dinner family and friends hungry and thirsty and 30 min to take and order and so on... And service charge on the bill? After a complaint or a disaster service? And now reading the reviews, it was quite poor of me not checking here before... But wonders me the most is that I wrote before to the head office, didn't want to come to trip advisor... All they said was the manager would contact me and that never happened... Shame shame shame... Looks like the company in general doesn't really care!

Reserved a table online for a pre-theatre meal. Shocked to be taken downstairs to an empty and very cold room. To be fair the Waitress managed to produce a fan heater but there was a cold draft each time a door opened. The room slowly filled with other customers. The staff were slow to take the order and generally unattentive. The starters never arrived and a tapas dish that we didn't order did. The tapas were lukewarm and not psrtucularly tasty. The rose sangria was like drinking diluting juice with little awareness of any alcohol content. Inevitably the bill included the starters we never received plus the tapas we didn't order and one tapas billed twice. Twice we sent the bill back for correction. The thing that annoyed me most was that despite all the errors, the cold room, and the lukewarm food the staff had the cheek to automatically add a service charge which we had to explain why we were not will to pay. Very poor and would not visit any la tasca again.
