On a recent night out in London, with visiting friends, we decided to catch up early for dinner, seeking sustenance and sanctuary before "The Lion King" roared into our evening. Our friends were a travelling family of two joyously tired parents and their two sons with beaming smiles, full of perpetual joy and contagious energy. We decided the menu at Wahaca looked good, and noted it was a large, busy, family-friendly haven right near the theatre that promised both good food and quick service - exactly what we needed. We grabbed a couple of serves of the guacamole for the kids, these were deliciously simple and were served with tortilla chips. While the kids’ told stories about their exploring of London and a dramatic recent loss of a tooth - I think the adults ate much more of the guacamole. The Mexico City Nachos hit the table, loaded with Trealy Farm chorizo, black beans, and a nice combo of salsas - I was glad to give them a go. I ordered one of the Summer Special "Pea & Mint Empanadas" - I thought they’d be better based on the ingredients and write up, but I was happy to give them a try. We got the Crispy Cauliflower Bites and Sweet Potato 'Bravas', they were good also, but the sweet potato bravas weren’t that crispy, but were still nice, served with jalapeno allioli and hibiscus salsa. For drinks all the adults decided that we were craving coffee instead of booze, but fate intervened cruelly as the waitress told us the coffee machine was broken. This led me to order a Coffee Tequila—a cheeky detour that I enjoyed. For mains, we went with a range of the tacos - chicken, beef and fish - and a chicken quesadilla to share. The kids enjoyed their own delightful bowls from the kids menu. No complaints with any of these and they came out fast as promised. We got the Churros for desert. After we paid the bills and prepared to leave, our waitress walked past us confidently and delivered a round of coffees to the table next to ours. It was a strange, hilarious twist that could not have been better planned or timed. It was a great space and a fantastic pre-show feast which allowed for a good value meal, some nice conversation, good laughs and just the right amount of absurdity before a magical night of theatre.

Friendly staff - Cosima our waitress looked after us nicely. Good food. Just bring back the black coconut ice cream!

Our delightful server Kinga really looked after us!! Only 4 stars as we had to wait 15 minutes for our table to be ready after we arrived on time for our booking. Menus were given to us while we waited and we were not rushed at the end, so a busy Saturday night was handled as best they could! Food was delicious, especially Kinga’s recommendations! Thank you!

Miguel was absolutely brilliant, he looked after us under any aspect of the service. Taking care of us during the all dinner, and he definitely delivered a great Wahaca’s experience, showing proud and full knowledge. Thank you so much, we will definitely come back.

The waiter added extra money to my bill and tried to hide the card machine from me while I paid. And no, this wasn’t from service charges which are added at their discretion.

Food is excellent, everything we had was tasty and fresh. The portions are a good size so will leave you feeling full if you order a selection of dishes. Only slight let down was it took ages for the drinks to arrive, we received the food first. Service is fast and efficient.

Decided to come here just to say we had Mexican food in London. We weren’t expecting much but we ended up really liking it! The drinks were great and staff were friendly.

We had an amazing time as always. The food was great, we love our tacos, especially our 7 year old. The service was absolutely amazing as Aida just made everything perfect. Give that girl a raise please, she is an absolute asset to Wahaca. 😃 The only negative was the horchata, not great. Muchas gracias, Aida. 😃

Marco was excellent- friendly and attentive

My waitress, Cosima, could not have been nicer and made my solo dinner a very pleasant treat.

After getting a couple of beers and deciding where to go grab a bite in Covent Garden, me and my 6 friends started having a heated argument. Someone wanted to eat Chinese, someone didn't. Considering we were all from different countries finding a place good enough for all of us was tough. After roaming around the area for a good 30min I decided to take the lead and opened up my good friend Google Maps. Turns out that 200mts from where we were there was a Mexican place. I proposed it and miraculously everyone agreed! And that's where we stumbled upon Wahaca. We got seated and the nicest girl, Aida, came to take our order. She explained and advised us on the best choices. We ended up taking some burritos and tacos. The food was really really good, I opted for both a pork and a plantain (veg) tacos and couldn't have been happier with my choice. During our dinner at Wahaca Aida was able to not only give us advices but also interact with us to give us an overall really pleasant experience. At the end of the evening she even proposed us a coffee with Tequila which was a pleasant surprised, loved it! So if you find yourself around the Covent garden area in London, starving, in the middle of a heated argument between your indecisive friend, Wahaca is the place for you! Thanks Aida for a lovely service!

Both the food and the cocktails were amazing! We had the dicovery menu and it’s really recommendable - all new tastes, interesting textures and really good portions. Our waiter Marco was lovely, funny and helpful. Overall, a great experience!

Honestly the absoloute highlight was our attentive waiter - marco - his charisma made our overall dining experience extremely pleasant for all 3 of us!

I went for dinner with a friend and our server was Marco. Marco was lovely and went out of his way to get me some of the chilli chocolate for my dessert, which tasted great. Marco even kindly offered me some more chocolate when I paid the bill. I'd definitely come back again for another meal, especially if Marco was my server again. Many thanks to him 🙂

Perfect for kids - we went at a relatively quiet time (3 pm on a Sunday) with two kids under 5 and were so impressed by the super prompt, friendly service (thanks, Asia!!) and the great variation in the kids’ menu. We also loved the big selection of non-alcoholic drinks. If you’re looking for somewhere to take little ones in Covent Garden, I highly recommend!

Delicious food and great service!

I ordered the vegan burrito and there was a piece of pork in it. The issue was resolved very well by the team and we were given a complementary dessert. However, when the bill arrived the cost of my burrito had not been removed. I explained to the manager and asked to have it taken off and she obliged, but having worked in hospitality before, I thought this was a given. I was not expecting to have to ask and justify why I didn't think I should pay for that dish. The fact that this happened is indicative of below-par practices in the kitchen when it comes to cross contamination.

Cosima was great. Food was wonderful. Whole thing was just great. Get the plantain tacos.
