18/06/2018: We took friends here for high tea. Very good service, lovely surroundings. Lots to eat! Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion.
12/06/2018: Three of us visited for a belated birthday treat for my mother in laws 90th. One vegetarian catered for. From the instant we walked in the door this was a perfect experience. The lovely gentleman on the door wished MIL happy birthday and chatted to us. The staff were welcoming knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was just incredible and we were shocked to find we couldn't finish it. Every single detail was absolutely perfect even down to a birthday candle on the sweet platter. We will be back as soon as possible. Bravo!

The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
08/06/2018: We loved everything about this place. It’s quaint. Superb food. Reasonably priced. Good service. Wonderful views. Just a short taxi ride from the main part of town. The best meal we had during our week in Scotland!
08/06/2018: About 5 miles east of St. Andrews is this old country house and inside is a dining delight. This small but perfect restaurant is just marvelous. My friend started with the veloute of pumpkin soup, crème fraiche which was warm and chock full of taste,...

Croft 36

Na Hearadh agus Ceann a Deas nan Loch, Eilean Siar
17/06/2018: Bought some steak and ale pies here for a picnic lunch. They were delicious. We are going to have their cheese and onion quiche for lunch today, bought yesterday as the shop is closed Sunday. Well worth a visit.
16/06/2018: I am hooked on Croft 36s crab quiche! It is absolutley delicious. I also love their other food ie rabbit stew, beef curries, scones, brownies...pretty much all of it really. If you are passing by Northton, its well worth taking the very small detour into the village to pop into the shop!!

The Sandwich Station

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, <20£
15/06/2018: We visited Lochranza today and fancied a lunch outside so given the great reviews stopped here
10/06/2018: Five stars just isn't enough! What a fantastic place. We had just missed a ferry, so thought we'd grab a quick coffee and filled roll. Next time we will be missing a ferry on purpose! Fabulous bacon rolls and the most amazing salmon sourdough sandwich... all freshly made and locally sourced, served with a cheery chat and a smile. Nice coffee too, and a really nice atmosphere at the outdoor seating area. There's info on the walls about the local suppliers of their food and ingredients, all from Arran or Argyll, and a selection of locally made pottery mugs (unique) with a free hot drink - a really nice take on the takeaway mug! What a great little place, a fantastic addition to my favourite Scottish holiday destination. All the very best in your business guys, you absolutely deserve it. The dog loved her bacon roll too. :-D

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife
15/06/2018: I had the most amazing birthday lunch with my husband today at The Cellar, Anstruther. Every mouthful was a taste sensation. Each course was a work of art. We chose the French red wine, Carignon which was excellent and very reasonably priced. Erica, our charming waitress, explained every course in great detail. This is the most wonderful meal I have ever had in my 60+ years. Chef/Patron Billy and your team you are a credit to Scotland. We can't wait to come back for our next holiday and a return visit to your delightful restaurant.
14/06/2018: My partner and I visited the cellar in order to experience Michelin starred dining for the first time and can honestly say we had the most amazing meal ever. The taster menu is fantastic with superb tasting dishes, little works of art on a plate all served by incredibly knowledgeable and attentive staff. I couldn't recommend a visit to the Cellar highly enough.

City Centre, Edinburgh, City of
17/06/2018: My wife and I have been to Pickles several times over the last year or so. It's amazing, can't recommend highly enough. Cheese, meat, chutney and wines are fantastic, staff are friendly and great location (5 minutes walk from our house!). It's a really cosy...
11/06/2018: Charming place! It's cozy, friendly people, great cheese, great meat, everything was perfect! It was a pleasure to discover scottish cheeses! We will be back!

North Berwick Coastal, East Lothian
06/06/2018: Food and service was fantastic. Very small restaurant, less than 10 tables. Requires a reservation. My only complaint was it very warm in the dining room. I had a pasta appetizer and veal chops. Food was delicious. We had a bottle of Chianti that was reasonable and good.
06/06/2018: A very good restaurant. Well run, and all staff pleasant & efficient. Definitely worth going to, but our food not quite the "excellence" we expected, especially for the price we paid.

Wee Lochan

Partick West, Glasgow City

The Fish People Cafe

Govan, Glasgow City
16/06/2018: Rather off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Great food without delay, well matched wine list including broad dessert wine list- unusual for a venue of this size.

Cafe Eighty 2

Aird and Loch Ness, Highland
17/06/2018: Adorable cafe with friendly service. Wonderful pastries, toasties and smoothies! They serve a date with hot beverages as an added touch!
14/06/2018: A local friend recommended that we visit. It was good advice. One of us got the full breakfast (eggs, toast, veggies, ham, haggis, and sausage). The other had a roasted red pepper and cheese toastie (sandwich warmed in a panini press) and a bowl of vegetable soup (“green goddess”). Everything was delicious.

The North Port Restaurant

Perth City Centre, Perth & Kinross
14/06/2018: Excellent ambience in very old building. Staff welcoming and very attentive. Knowledgeable of details of menu. Food is exceptional. Very well presented and very tasty. Reasonable price. No wonder this the the most highly rated restaurant around.
10/06/2018: Visited with friends, second visit as good as first. Everyone enjoyed food and drink, good service and warm feel to restaurant decor. Will return on next visit to Perth to see what is on menu.

Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant

Eilean a' Chèo, Highland, 60-100£
18/06/2018: My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch on an extremely wet day. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service sharp and professional but not obtrusive.
16/06/2018: Let's start at the business end. Our bill for two (I'll come back to this was £140 for two a tip) so it aught to be good then shouldn't it? Well it was. So let's crack on and say why. First of all the service was wonderful and just the right side of informal (This a Michelin starred restaurant after all) We were in jeans and so were the front of house staff. They appeared to be genuinely interested in us and what we had to say. I asked for a sherry to start - not everyone's choice I know but a well selected salty manzanilla came along. We ate the standard three course meal but we got little nibbles to start - which went nicely with my sherry. Then the proper starters - a really tasty shellfish soup and a small plate (not very small) of beef short rib and feather steak with various veg and horseradish cream. Then a nice piece of hake with a crab topping. A bottle of wine..and chips! We then shared the cheese board with three different ports at different prices. We played the game of putting them in the right quality order. (We are confident we got it right because we got a complimentary glass at the end of the meal (but I'm getting ahead of myself) We then had the assiette of deserts (it was playfully explained to us that assiette means plate in french) all really nice but a chocolate ganache to die for and an apricot ice cream that was very I think you can tell we had a great old time ..You could eat there for less...but where's the fun in that?

Southside / Newington, Edinburgh, City of, >100£
16/06/2018: Just amazing, this is our first Michelin star restaurant and based on their price, local food and customer service they deserve it. Make sure you choose a window or corner seat they can pack you in. The overall service was amazing, perfect timing. Food loved it, nice choice of wines too.

Bia Bistrot

Meadows / Morningside, Edinburgh, City of
17/06/2018: I ate at Bia Bistrot last night with a friend and both of us were delighted with the food, atmosphere and service.
03/06/2018: From start to finish this was one of the best meals the four of us had ever had! The service was faultless, I’ve never been waited on so attentively (without being intrusive) by staff that ask about each meal being served as opposed to casually asking the whole table if the food is ok. We had wine recommended to us to compliment the meals, and all our needs met. We had a variety of starters: soup, wild rabbit, bone marrow and tried fish, lamb and steak for mains. The cheese board choices were flexible with a choice of 1-4 of the four cheeses written on the board, and the rhubarb dessert was tangy and fresh. The place itself is small enough to allow for cosy dining without being too close to everyone else. It looked so modest yet packed such a punch with the food. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend Bia Bistrot to anyone looking to dine in Edinburgh!

Glen Rowan Cafe

Aird and Loch Ness, Highland, <20£
14/06/2018: Whenever we stay in Fort Augustus we cycle along the Great Glen Way to this fantastic little cafe before heading back. The ladies that own it now are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.
09/06/2018: Found this lovely little cafe on the way home from a day out. The ladies who own this cafe were lovely friendly and welcoming the homemade carrot cake was delicious and the coffee was perfect great place to stop for any reason
