Caffi Gwynant

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd, <20£
12/06/2019: Great food in a beautiful building. Friendly staff, varied menu, some great vegetarian options. We had the Full Welsh Breakfast. A posh breakfast but tasting as good as it looked and homemade tomato sauce to go with it. Coffee and a generous serving of orange juice to go with it.
11/06/2019: Love this place with all their cakes on display .Great coffee and hot chocolate. Good quality food. The pulled pork bun is amazing and so filling!

Seahorse Seafood Bistro and Restaurant

Gogarth, Conwy, 45-60£
02/06/2019: We tried to get a table on the evening we arrived but it was fully booked so we booked for the next evening and it was well worth the wait.I do like fish and i found it really difficult to make a choice but i did eventually choose and the starter and the main were probably the best seafood meals i have ever tasted. The staff were great and the atmosphere was too. Many thanks to the chef for making such beautiful food.
27/05/2019: If you love fish then this restaurant is for you, the food was amazing, the staff were very polite and helpful. The cost was very reasonable for such tasty food. The restaurant looked a little dark and dreary but it was all about the food and service, we will definitely go back. Thank you to the Chef and waitresses for making our evening a lovely night.

The Gazelle Hotel

Cwm Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey
02/06/2019: Four covers for Sunday lunch, three of whom had the traditional roast. The portions and presentation were very good and although the beef could have been a little more tender, all in all it was good, value for money fare.
31/05/2019: We last ate here in 2014 and swore never to return as such a bad experience. But due to new ownership and good reviews we decided to revisit as views over Snowdonia are second to none. We arrived at 12md. met by the new owner, who was very nice and welcoming. The interior has been revamped to a very pleasant standard, especially the toilets which are fabulous. If you knew what the old toilets looked like, you would know what I mean. Sadly, the lunch menu is very limited. I appreciate they call it a pub and not a gastro pub. But the only hot meals seemed to be for children with a varied selection of nibbles, sandwiches, flatbreads for adults. Must admit we were very disappointed. On the children’s menu there was fish, chips & peas. My husband asked if we could have the fish, chips & peas as an adult portion. Initially the bartender said no, then said he would ask. The reply being, yes. The meals arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious. We did note a few other customers arrived asking if there were any hot meals except for the children’s and bar tender said only what was on the lunch menu. We said nothing as we did not want to cause a problem due to the meals we had. Will we return, Hmmm probably not. Purely because the lack of selection on the lunch menu which is very sad. My husband said his pint of Unicorn is the best he has had in a long time. My only request to the new owners is please consider putting a few hot lunch time meals on for adults, then we would definitely return.

Lemon Tree

Grosvenor, Wrexham, >100£
30/04/2019: Recently visited the Lemon Tree for Afternoon Tea with a group of friends. A very disappointing experience. The afternoon tea presented to us although looking the part, being presented on a three tier cake stand, was very disappointing. Bread on sandwiches was not very fresh and the fillings were very bland, except for the coronation chicken. The selection of cakes included plain scones, macarons, a small square of a sponge cake (unsure of flavour) and a huge slab of another cake (again unsure of flavour), this looked out of place on the cake stand. One friend requested plain ham sandwiches on white bread, and she received plain ham sandwiches on brown bread. Tea and coffee provided were fine. I would suggest that you pay a visit to Marks and Spencer cafe and sample their version of afternoon tea.
29/04/2019: Booked for lunch but was sat down with the afternoon tea menu - no problem, quickly rectified and a lunch menu was brought. Very polite and friendly waitress. Opted for the Brie parcels and risotto as starters - both were delicious. For mains we both decided on trio of pork - belly pork, one sausage and medallion of pork. Served with black pudding mash, broccoli and jus. We felt the pork could have been crispier as the fat was very pale but as a whole, very tasty. Desserts however were disappointing - creme brûlée with a shortbread biscuit. - this tasted quite bitter and slightly burnt.

14/02/2019: Was a very good eating place but now moved to Earl road under a new name . Not been open for business for a while???
09/09/2018: It is absolutely fabulous now that the sucessful Rubens has taken over. The food is nicer, service great, just a very nice refreshing change to what it was when 'the clown chef of Mold' had it!

Garth,Menai (Bangor), Gwynedd
04/06/2019: Teras Lounge is my favourite place for lunch in Bangor and I visit often. It’s situated in the historic Main Arts building of Bangor University. Stylish and comfortable surroundings, great choice of tasty food (light bites are my faves) and when the weather is good it’s nice to sit out on the terrace.
15/05/2019: We attended a small function with set menu. The drinks at the bar were very expensive - over £12 for two glasses of wine, and over £3 each one for soft drinks! The meat eaters got a good big piece of meat with their main course, but the vegetarians were short-changed with only a starter-sized portion of risotto as a main course and it didn't even have much taste. Starter and dessert nicely presented. Bar staff had a poor attitude and gave the impression they couldn't be bothered and looked down on the customers. Very long wait between courses and very behind schedule to get started. We wouldn't choose to go to Teras for a meal ourselves after this experience.

Menai (Caernarfon), Gwynedd, >100£

Gogarth, Conwy
26/06/2017: Breakfast was excellent, Ham, eggs, juices, fruits,.... Room was to the inside court and small, but much less expensive than the sea-view rooms. WIFI was fast, parking not easy (next in the Victoria shopping centre at 9 pounds overnight stay).

Gladstone Hotel

Cefn, Wrexham
07/03/2018: Have been here twice now for lunch on a weekend and it has always been quiet. Imagine it picks up at night time. Meals were good size and good value. Cost us less then $40 for burger and chips, Chicken Schnitzel and Veg and 2 soda waters.
