Wanted to visit for so long but with limited opening times when we did get chance to go it was booked up. We planned this time and managed to get a table. On arrival it was very quiet but towards the end of our meal all tables were full. Hubby had wings to start and then goat curry. I had chicken Mac and waffle to start and then chicken curry. We both had desserts the rum cake with ice cream and the trio of sorbets. All the food was very tasty and the starters and mains definitely had a kick and so delicious. The staff were very welcoming and the restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere with great music. The cocktails looked lovely (maybe next time). They do a take out menu and the lunchtime menu looked really good. I cannot wait to go again. New restaurant opening soon in Prestatyn - may have to try that one as well. For all you dog lovers - they are dog friendly 🐾 fantastic to support Charlotte and her team - don’t hesitate book and go !!!

Finally got round to going , walked in Friday early afternoon and was greeted by the owner Charlotte who was bubbly and chatty, such a down to earth girl, after a initial chat over what drinks we would have I ordered curried chicken, which came with rice and peas, I also ordered side portions of dirty chips and dumplings. My wife ordered a huge burger which came with chips and coleslaw, BIG PORTION as she struggled. The food was amazing and ever so tasty and both walked out feeling full to the brim, sadly way to full to have desserts. I have just read the previous negative review regarding the price, we paid £55 but that did include the food which ill state again was authentic and so fresh as well as drinks, mine being a fizzy orange pop and my wife had the obligatory vodka and coke, yes and no to the high price of the meal as you cannot really put a price on good food, whatever you may feel regarding the food all prices are on the menu so if you don't like them don't go but were on earth in North Wales can you go for authentic Caribbean that tastes amazing. Charlotte and her kids as she lovingly called them are a lovely bunch of youngsters who are creating a lovely slice of food heaven so please support them on this venture. Yes we will go back and look forward to doing so soon so thank you Charlotte and your wonderful babies, they are a credit to you and how polite they were . PS My apologies for this slow response as I did promise her we would do it straight after we left, sadly a puncture in Chester took our minds off it, but better late than never hey .

My son: "If we could send this meal to Aunty, who's in heaven, God would come downstairs and ask for some, " Divine food! Up-a-Yard was full of smiles all through the meal - from Charlotte, her staff, other diners, musicians and us. One Love, indeed! It is our family's favourite place to go and eat, even in sad times. Charlotte has a wonderful instinct for what food you will enjoy, cooks it to perfection and has surrounded herself with staff and musicians who share her respect and liking for their guests

What a fantastic little cafe this is!! Such a warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they were lovely. Felt very covid safe with sanitiser stations around, masks, visors and socially distanced tables. The breakfast was gorgeous and the coffee delicious. We will definitely go back. Thank you!!

If you’re in and around the Connahs quay, you should check out this lovely community cafe. Reasonable priced and the service is fab. I had an all day breakfast it was delicious. I have been a few times now and would definitely recommend it.

Went to a games night with the nephews, great vibe, played table tennis, did a jigsaw, and throw throw burrito! Homemade cake was incredible, especially the gluten free brownie! Would highly recommend it, we will be going again!
