Lemon Tree in Wrexham

Had an amazing afternoon tea at the Lemon Tree Wrexham. I can honestly say it's the best by far.

Lovely laid back staff yet very attentive.

We didn't stay here we just used their restaurant. Pleasant experience

We only popped in for a quick drink but having looked at the a la carte menu decided to stay for Saturday dinner. The food here is always top class, excellent value and served by a very friendly and welcoming team. I am always puzzled why there are not queues out of the door on every visit, the food really is that good. A new chef and the addition of a charcoal oven has delivered some very tasty and innovative dishes........my curried lamb burger with onion bhaji and cucumber raita was superb and my wife loved the maple planked salmon with chicory, olives and apple (not something you'd think of but it really was a delicious combination). There's so much more we want to try on this exciting menu, it won't be long before we're back. The Christmas menu looks really good to and very competitively priced. If you live around Wrexham and haven't been here yet you should really give it a try; a hard working team are delivering innovative and tasty dishes at very competitive prices. They really do deserve your custom.

The food! Excellence all around. My only complaint would be fluffier pillows, but that's the only flaw.

Great place to stay with clean rooms, excellent service, and in a great location.

After contacting Sam the owner asking to organise a quiet table for my wife & I to have a meal for her retirement. He organised the chilled champagne on arrival with a lovely congratulations brownies to finish. The food was Excellant quality and well presented. We spoke to the head chef who was very passionate about his dishes. We have our table now and will be certainly back soon

We had a lovely overnight stay here on a Couples Escape offer. The food was amazing...partcularly the fresh cooked breakfast. Everything else was lovely apart from a slight niggle with the shower head which refused to stay up. I reported this at checkout, so hopefully it will be mended. However, as we we only there one night it did not spoil our stay. All the staff were friendly and approachable. We would happily book again if in the area.

Our visit to The Lemon Tree was definitely the highlight of our first visit to Wrexham. We enjoyed Asian BBQ Belly Pork and Hummus for starters then followed with the Seabass and Dirty Burger. The food was just perfect and the portions were generous (which explains why we didn't have room for any desserts). The staff were very friendly and attentive. Thanks for a really excellent evening meal.

The restaurant is a bit morebexpensive than some places, the food Iis good and a moderate selection available. For the size would have thought more options. Good service from staff.

We had a lovely meal here and the service was exceptional. We were greeted really nicely then shown to our table. The man who took our order was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was delicious (we had starters and main course) we weren't kept waiting in between courses and the team gave regular checks on us throughout to see if we needed anything, and to check our meals were ok. The dining area was clean and tables set enough apart for privacy. The furniture was clean and well cared for too. I would definitely dine here again and recommend to friends and family.

We had excellent food throughout our 3 night stay. Breakfast was included in price. So to rate the meals:- 1. Breakfast: On first morning we both had the full breakfast (l didn’t have the black pudding). It was lovely but for me too filling & so l had other options on other 2 mornings. Hubby stuck with the full breakfast. I opted for the creamy mushrooms on toast one morning (& requested that garlic be added - couldn’t taste it if it was added - still lovely though)! On the other morning I had the eggs royale whıch was nice but again rather filling for me! Our main issues with breakfast were:- the absence of juıce (although it was offered on our second morning) we were not aware it was available on request until 2nd day The toast - we both found the crust on the sourdough toast very tough to cut through. For my mushrooms on toast & my eggs royale l would have liked the option of other than sourdough bread (reasons as above) as I had too cut out the middle from the crusts! 2. Dinner - we had our first on the evening of our arrival & despite reading reviews we didn’t realise how small the portions for our main would be (we don’t usually have a starter or sweet as we can’t usually manage anymore). We opted for the surf & turf which was excellent & then a sweet the baked cheesecake! This my hubby liked but I didn’t like the texture & the biscuit was very hard although tasty. For our second evening meal (my birthday) on the Monday we took advantage of the voucher scheme & saved at least £30 on what we had paid on the Saturday (2 courses & any drink for £80). I opted for the salmon in gin & beetroot starter & it was too die for. My husband opted for the cheesecake again which looked gorgeous & he let me taste it. Very different from Saturday night & delicious. For our main we opted for the duo of lamb which was also lovely (though we both thought the surf & turf was nicer). We selected a nice wine - which cost more than the Saturday night wine) The wine on both occasions was very quaffable (a Merlot & a Malbec). 3. Sunday lunch (we again used the voucher scheme which gave a good saving). As we knew the main would be slightly more filling we opted for the olives & cheese nibbles - there was an awful lot (though we finished as very nice). We went for the steak & Yorkshire pudding main which was also lovely & a nice bottle of house wine. Overall the food was excellent as was the service. I do think the voucher deals are well worth the money as the prices overall are a little on the expensive side. BUT no more than we’ve paid in some of the restaurant chains we have frequented

The staff were attentive and friendly. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious and used high quality ingredients. The room was clean and comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, well presented and delicious. Staff were attentive and there was a nice atmosphere. We will be back. Parking a bit tight but we parked down the side street ,no problem .

This is one of the best roasts we have eaten in a long time! Great quality food and lovely service. All the staff we interacted with were very attentive. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely return.

My partner and I stayed here with a couple break away deal, dinner bed and breakfast, and bottle of fizz. Lovely building, friendly staff, and tasty food. Bedroom was nice though a little dusty in places, and shower needs re-sealant as was mouldy. Small issue with hot water, but soon, it was rectified once I informed reception. However, heating in the bedroom was off and couldn't control this ourselves and was a bit chilly in the morning. Comfortable bed, room would benefit from blinds and curtains as the light shines through due to curtains nit being black out ones. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. It was a shame that Wrexham didn't have much going for it. We would definitely come back to stay but not to visit Wrexham.

Comfort, good food, great service. We like restaurants with rooms so you don’t have to drive after eating and drinking. This is an excellent example of the species. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stop and more importantly to eat. From the warm welcome to the great food this stay, which was for my birthday was the best choice we could have made. We had a package deal where my and my partner had a nights stay with dinner, breakfast and prosecco included. The sevice was excellent but my goodness, the food was heavenly (and so was the chef! As in looks :)) Rooms were great, albeit a little dusty in places and the hot water seemed a little hit and miss at times, but was there when we needed it for a shower! Thank you to the team there for a great stay.

Absolutely amazing food. Presented to perfection and tasted even better. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Well worth a visit as you don’t get this quality of food on your doorstep or even in any of the big city’s.

Restaurant review only. Haven’t been to the Lemon Tree for years until last night when we went with 2 friends. Very interesting menu and food was lovely. The tofu chips followed by the pork were very good and we all enjoyed our meals. Wine a bit expensive, but that’s the same everywhere these days. Wasn’t busy and the service was excellent. Well done

We booked an afternoon tea for two. The chef accommodated my gluten-free diet request. The food was lovely and well presented, and the staff were polite and gave excellent service. As we have recently moved to an area within walking distance, we will be frequenting.

I attended brunch with my daughter today. The service and the food was exceptional. The food could not be faulted and was fresh and delicious. We were served by Koutha. She went over and above. She was professional, attentive, engaging and a delight to speak to and we really enjoyed this morning, will definitely return. Thank you!

Helpful staff and exceptional food - the braised cod and lobster bisque was perfect.

First time to Wrexham for a football match. Great location and walkable to the racecourse however the rooms are a little dated. First the walls are paper thin. Like really thin. You can hear any and all conversations between the rooms. Second dust. Lots of it on the lamps and end tables by the beds. The sheets were old and you could see holes and tears in them. Half the pillows smelled like body odor I wouldn’t stay here again and unfortunately we couldn’t stay for breakfast due to an early flight out of Manchester. Hotel reception wouldn’t credit that back and there was no alternative in the morning (like a take away continental).

The duration of my stay has been a Wednesday evening through to the Monday in early March. The first impression is terrific, friendly and welcoming staff at check in. The room was clean and warm, well equipped for ones stay. Housekeeping throughout my stay have been friendly, helpful and kept the room and bathroom immaculate. The shining jewel however is kitchen and it's team. Outstanding menu, of which I managed to eat across in entirety, including two Sunday lunches to allow enough meals to get across the menu. Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food has been impeccable quality and clearly high quality ingredients. Delicate plating and beautiful presentation no matter the food. Even flat out in the restaurant, the food comes in a timely manner. The flavour profiles of every dish, from terrines to roasts, steak to chocolate and orange tarts, possets to french toast...outstanding. The chefs know and understand how to honour fresh ingredients. Well selected wine list from around the world. Comfy bed, well positioned tv, decent shower. Highly recommended staying or eating at The Lemon Tree in Wrexham.

This is only a restaurant dining review. We went for a Sunday dinner on Mother's Day. The meal was amazing! Every dish! The staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean, bright and spacious and the bill was more than reasonable for what we had. The only comment I have to make that is slightly negative is that the parking is difficult. The entrance to the carpark leads down the side of the building before opening to a carpark for maybe 8 cars. My car (SUV) physically would not fit through the gap so we had to park up the road and walk. Obviously it's an old building with existing features so there's no way to improve this unfortunately.

I went to the Lemon Tree with friends from work. The restaurant is lovely, great service, good range in the bar and the roast dinner was just fabulous. The best roast dinner I've ever had. The chocolate fondant dessert was delicious too. From a group of 12, no one had a bad word to say. We'll definitely visit again.

Had a gift voucher from our daughter for Christmas! She had her baby Thursday so we booked for tonight!! It was lovely We had two course dinner for two with drinks!! It was lovely my husband had a pint and I had a cocktail We asked if we could pay the difference for a bottle of wine! The took the cocktail and pint off so we only paid for the bottle of wine!! It was so nice! Can’t wait to return

We had such a fantastic meal here tonight. Had brought a groupon voucher so meal was a bargain but food was amazing too. I had pork which was beautifully cooked with lovely veg and my wife had the lamb suet pudding with veg. All cooked perfectly. We both had light desserts of fruit with sorbet which were also delicious. Fantastic experience

We went with a Groupon, our meal was excellent and even though some items exceeded the price limit we were not charged. We had a great evening and will be returning.

My first time : great coffee and delicious crispy beef salad- truly superb. We sat in the little annex. Service was slow and parking is tricky if you have a large car, otherwise would have been 5 stars. Will be back!

I live in London but needed to be in Wrexham for the day, so spent a night here. Chose the hotel for its location and that I could bring my dog, I hadn’t really paid much attention to the restaurant/ menu. So I was totally blown away by the food. It was absolutely delicious, both dinner and breakfast. Staff are really friendly and nice too. Highly recommend

A bit pricey for your meals and drinks

This establishment came highly recommended. Sadly it failed to meet our standards. The food was well presented, but so salty the flavours were hidden and left you grabbing for water. There is really no need for so much salt other than trying to mask tasteless food or the chef has lost his taste for salt . Cut the salt let the flavours of the food come through. The front of house staff , I would of expected a better dress code , not jeans and trainers . The young lady with tattoos on her arms on full show is rather tasteless and some people find these quite offensive, long sleeve blouse needed .

Didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms, however the food and service for our office Xmas meal was fantastic. The one teeny thing that was missing was Christmas crackers on the table! What's a Christmas do without a silly paper hat!! Also, no background music, but I'm sure our loudness would've drowned it out anyway!

We shared an absolutely delicious meal at the lemon tree. It was the best food I ate in Wales.

I’ve given this place a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th chance and it lets down every time. Service is very slow. Food sounds amazing, but the cod was shockingly over cooked. The sauce was nice. However, it needs help, direction. Staff are really slow and struggle with the basics. How this won anything I’ll never know. However when you make a comment on Facebook and have all the staff offended and attacking you. You know a venue is doomed sadly.

Visited the Lemon Tree restaurant for the first time at the weekend and it won't be our last, the sunday lunch there was excellent and the best I've had for a long while! The menu is really well curated with an emphasis on good quality local welsh suppliers, the beef was wonderfully aged and had so much flavour, the leg of lamb was really succulent and all the veggies, roasties and sauces were spot on too. The apple & blueberry fool for dessert was incredible, would not have known this was vegan! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable lunch and good value considering the level and quality of food here.. looking forward to try the a-la-carte menu next 👍

I have dined at The Lemon Tree a few times and every time, the food has been something else. We dined here in December for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant - and I take my roasts very seriously - so I don’t say that lightly! I had the leg of lamb and it was perfectly juicy, it melted in my mouth. The roast potatoes were perfect, full of flavour and crispy, but fluffy inside. Usually I have to ask for extra gravy, but the gravy was so beautifully rich, it was just the right amount. One of my favourite things about the menu at the Lemon Tree is the snacks! I love to have a little something to start off the meal and to have with my first drink. The star is the Snowdonia truffle trove bread - something I’ve had a few times and is always warm, fresh and delicious. I’m so glad to see a restaurant in Wrexham that is a proper foodie destination! Can’t wait to go back.

My Husband and I enjoy a lovely brunch when we get the rare occasion that we are both off. We had been recommended to go to the Lemon Tree. I’d been before and eaten off the main menu and really enjoyed it, so had high hopes for it. Boy were we not disappointed, the food was fabulous especially the homemade hash browns. The service was excellent and we took our doggies and they were spoilt too with treats and cuddles. If you’re looking for a decent breakfast and a top nosh cup of coffee, the Lemon Tree is worth a visit. We will definitely be back!

We both went for the full English, the produce was all top quality, portion size was perfect and cooked to perfection. I genuinely feel the lemon tree is serving the best breakfast in Wrexham! Last minute Sunday lunch at 5pm (they stop serving at 6pm) Staff cery frienly and proffessional. Chose from the well priced 2 course Sunday lunch menu for £25. Had the Beef dinner. It was a good portion and tasty. There were a lot of extra flavours added it, for me a slightly unusual tasting Sunday lunch in that it wasn't basic and run of the mill (although some prefer this!) Dessert was a blackberry and apple fool. It certainly fooled me. As there was a pear 🍐 hiding in it too! 😆

Only went to the restaurant. I was sceptical to begin with as the portions were quite small but the food made up for it. The food was absolutely amazing and the fact that you can get a 3 course for around 30 pounds is an amazing deal for the quality of the food. Couldn't recommend it enough, for both family, friends and date nights.

Second overnight stay and meal in restaurant this year. We asked and got the same cozy room 😁. The room is spacious with heigh ceilings, it is in the original building. It was spotless and has a great shower. It is almost impossible to get the kettle in the bathroom sink for water though 😂 We had booked the ‘couples package’ allowing us to arrive at noon and to leave at noon the following day. Rooms are a little to be desired, but the staff and the restaurant are world class. We had breakfast and dinner and were blown away by the flavors, presentation and quality of the food and beverages. The staff was top notch. The rooms are small and basic, but clean. Walking distance to The Racecourse Ground. There’s a good sized fenced in park just a block away perfect for our dog. Overall would stay again and will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

After a scary situation with an Airbnb in a different city, the staff here were lifesavers, booking us last minute rooms late in the evening. The rooms were stellar and breakfast was delicious. The staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly. I look forward to coming back to Wrexham and staying here again!

The room I stayed in was small but nicely presented, clean and well serviced. I ate in the restaurant twice and enjoyed both meals. Not cheap but the quality and flavours in each dish were fantastic! Lovely Hafod Porter too!!

A generous gift voucher for my husband's birthday took us to the Lemon Tree, Wrexham.. We were made extremely welcome on arrival and the service was quick and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and of a very high quality. If we ever visit Wrexham again we will certainly return.

Came here as I saw that they do great local produce. The sausage 'wheel' was almost incinerated and egg not runny which was a bit disappointing but it was all good quality. The worst thing was that there was about 3 speakers all playing different...

Off-street parking is available, but the car park is quite small, with a very narrow passage in the driveway. Serving sizes in the restaurant were quite small, and my wife's steak was very tough. The room was small.

We booked the Lemon tree as a break in journey from Northumberland to North Wales. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I have to say the food we had for our evening meal was outstanding. The building looks very interesting I think a converted church and when we parked up we could see that the restaurant and bar was busy, I'm now not surprised! Our room was slightly disappointing as I'd say it was more suited to single occupancy and the decor was a bit dated. Having said this the bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious and we did sleep well. All in all it was good for a one night stay and the food was the highlight.
