We visited Demiro's before an opera performance at the Millennium Centre. The service was perfectly fine, the staff polite, helpful, and was prompt, which we appreciated since were on a tight schedule. One of us had Spaghetti Carbonara and the other had Penne Arrabiata. Both were ok - nothing special, but fine since our purpose was simply to get something to eat before the performance, not to spend the evening in a restaurant. Dessert seemed to revolve around different types of cheesecake and at over £9 a go, we felt this was unrealistically expensive so didn't bother. The decor of the restaurant felt a bit dated and the tables are rather small. The piped music - irritating at the best of times - was too loud and got in the way of conversation. Then, just after we paid the bill, the music suddenly swelled to deafening volume and a 'waiter' appeared , microphone in hand, and started moving from table to table, singing cheesy, 1950s fake-Italian songs. I can imagine this kind of thing being popular with a certain type of audience, but on this occasion it didn't seem to go down well with the diners, who all seemed to be trying to ignore this sudden unwelcome musical accompaniment to their pasta. Like us, they were probably heading for Welsh National Opera's performance of 'Peter Grimes' - which is on the 'heavier' side of opera experiencs - so they probably weren't the target demographic on this particular evening. As we fled the restaurant, cringing with embarrassment, I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for the chap who was singing - he was clearly a good singer and wasn't getting much love from his captive audience. That said, he was probably getting paid more than the pittance earned by the WNO chorus members across the road, who the Arts Council and the Welsh Government are trying to shut down by starving them of funding. If things don't improve, they might all end up working at Demiro's before long.

Amazing food. I work in this industry with my job Including tasting food. The flavour of my Korean cauliflower and the Rossini were superb. A great mixture of textures and depth of flavours. Good portion sizes too. Too full to try the desserts. :( Highly recommended. The staff were lovely. Friendly but not too friendly. Like the food, a good balance of professionalism and familiarity. Its not cheap, but well worth the money. Will definitely return.

This restaurant is now called the Golden Curry and is under new management so Trip Advisor you need to change some of the information on your site.We went for a meal on Saturday night and it was absolutely stunning. Fresh, colourful, tasty with beautiful herbs and spices. My king prawns were the best I have ever tasted. The staff could not possibly have been more attentive. Such lovely people. Highly recommended!
