I was in the Bay with a friend yesterday and we decided to try out the new cafe in the Norwegian Church as it had had some good reviews. It was a disaster from beginning to end. Deciding to try their signature Yorkshire Wraps ( an assortment of chopped food in a wrap made of Yorkshire pudding pastry), we ordered a veggie and a meat version. After we had ordered and sat down, they came and said they had run out of cheese sauce for the cauliflower so we had to change that order. Then they presented them to us the wrong way round - saying that the veggie was the meat dish and vice versa. Fortunately I (the meat eater) sampled a bit of each before my veggie friend started to eat. And it wasn't like they were busy or rushed. The food itself was almost tasteless although the sauce (which there wasn't enough of) made it a bit better. I left half of mine and my friend left some of hers. One star is for the coffee, which was very good.

In a quiter part of Cardiff Bay area, this is perfect for a stroll along the bay front and a snack or meal. We had the Yorkshire wraps which were delicious, including the best gravy. Inside and outside seating and very dogs friendly too.

They must have known today was the Cardiff Bay 10k. After queuing for 20 mins, was told to wait outside, I went in after 10 minutes to ask if they had forgotten the order. I was told they couldn’t find me but I was sat by the entrance. Need to get more staff on busy days and just generally more organised (it was not organised and headless chickens is a great description). I hope they take this as criticism they can action as the location and venue are both excellent.

Very friendly and welcoming cafe with seating inside and out with views over Cardiff Bay. Food is outstanding, the size of the portion of chicken wings and fries is well enough for 2 - as a Northerner, I loved their gravy side. We didn’t have room for dessert but there was plenty of different cakes to choose from. The coffee is extremely good and our whole lunch experience was very relaxed. We can’t wait to return.

We were a bit confused about the “Norwegian Church Arts Centre and Norsk Coffee Shop” but went in to have a coffee and a sit down. Now the Norwegians are a warm, welcoming and friendly nation, generally, but the people at the Norsk Coffee Shop obviously didn’t get the memo. Inside there was a “sturdy”, bearded young man behind the counter. He completely ignored us. He went into the kitchen, then back behind the counter, then outside and only when he returned from outside did he bother to acknowledge our existence. All the time we were standing there like a pair of lemons! So much for the “hospitality industry”. How rude and thoroughly unprofessional. How much would it have cost him to say “good morning, I’ll be with you in a moment”? Too much, apparently. By way of contrast, upstairs was the gift shop and the gentleman up there could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Stopped for lunch today with my daughter and 11 month grandson. Ordered the beetroot falafels and houmous. Also a tuna baguette. The food was excellent and big enough portions for 2 to share. Absolutely delish. The only downside was they didn't have highchairs and with 11 month year old needed one. The two young men on the counter couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Even wrapped half a baguette up in the kitchen to take home. We did have to feed my grandson in his pushchair which isn't ideal as he's learning to feed himself and makes a lot of mess. We managed though and really enjoyed ourselves sitting outside in the sunshine. We will be visiting again soon. All in all a lovely experience. A little note. Please get highchairs

If you go, do take time to read all of the displays. But back to the main business in hand. We had coffee and 2 of their tempting looking cakes. One was an almond and praline sponge, and the other a chocolate and cheese-cake affair. What superb cakes ! The most delicious that we've had in quite some time. We visited this restaurant on a busy sunday afternoon and I have to say that it was not a pleasant experience. The staff were clearly struggling with the volume of customers waiting to be served which appeared to take forever. One of the staff appeared to be having great difficulty operating the till and the coffee machine. The toilet/baby changing room was disgusting, smelling very strongly of urine and the sanitary bin was overflowing with used nappies. The only suitable seating available for my daughter to breastfeed her baby was taken up by a member of staff having his break therefore she had to sit in the outside space to feed her baby.Whilst I appreciate it was a very busy afternoon, I felt really let down with the service and facilities.

Myself and my family went here on Tuesday for some lunch, it was a beautiful day and being off work for a change I finally got to try out this restaurant, I've been working in the bay for nearly 3 years and never had a chance. How disappointing it was, when entering the church it look big with plenty of empty seats, when trying to find a a clean table we decided to clean it ourselves. We looked at the simple and boring menu and decided on 2 paninis and 2 sandwiches we walked up to the till point to order our lunch only to be told no tuna and only 2 paninis left but none that we liked as was pre made. As there wasn't anything there we liked we just ordered a drink and a caramel slice. My mum ordered two teas which was put on a small plastic really disgusting looking tray and with metal teapots that burnt my dads fingers when making tea.On the positive the caramel slice was nice.I won't be returning as it was a shame as the staff was friendly and area was big.In catering management myself I think they might need to look at increasing stock through busy periods.Oh And update the menu and table talkers they look very scabby. Will definitely stop by next time.

Dropped in here for a coffee with friends. We had visited this place some years earlier. The only item character is now the exterior of the building ,inside is a very average snack establishment

Having previously rated the Norwegian Church as four stars and often visited for lunch more than once a week we stopped in this week only to find a devastating change of menu. Gone are the super club sandwiches, the meatballs and pies, Welsh rarebit and other hot delights. All that remained were Cawl, Sandwiches and Paninis. We ordered Cawl which in itself was delicious but was served with what appeared to be dry cheap supermarket sliced bread in place of the thick artisan slices of the previous menu. It's a very sad change to the menu and the chap behind the counter was very diplomatic but was unable to account for the change. As another reviewer mentioned the cakes were unpriced and we were given the impression that the stock was being run down. It's a very sad state of affairs and what for us was a regular lunch time haunt will become that place we used to go to.

New look to the coffee shop is really great. Coffee was really great. Service was really great. But..Cakes on display not priced. What a shame! I am not going to ask the price of something. And I think the others customers possibly felt the same, as no one had bought anything to eat while we were there. Please display prices clearly...then you might sell something.

Visited last week with friend for light snacks and hot drinks, all superbly served and reasonably priced. Spotlessly clean and staff on duty very hands on and helpful. Haven't visited for a couple of years but can't wait to return. Lovely views and very relaxed atmosphere.

A lovely building at The Bay. Excellent venue for a meeting of under 60 people. Buffet food a bit basic but tasty.

We often visit for a quick lunchtime snack and know that whatever we choose from the menu it'll be fresh and hot and the coffee is always excellent. Today was a day for one of our favourites, the Super Club Sandwich, which had just the right balance of chicken, bacon, salad and mayonnaise. Well done guys, keep it up.

Lovely comfortable place with friendly staff. However we sat there for 4 hours to get a starter and a main, with a baby to keep entertained. Food was very bland and also very small potions.

I had been given a 'tasting' gift voucher for two people so I went along with a friend and we weren't disappointed. We tasted all their beers and lagers some we loved and a couple were too 'fruity' for us, following this we enjoyed a pint of our choice. It is a spacious venue with the brewery on site, there is a full bar as well as all the beer. The pizzas were excellent we enjoyed two which we shared. The service was friendly and each beer/lager was explain to us before tasting. Certainly worth a visit even if you are not a beer drinker.

Great food. The main did take a while to come, and I didn't rate the ice cream. The cider was very nice.
