Huge store and easy to shop. 1st time in IKEA. Loved it

Very disappointing experience. Queue for main cafe ridiculous not helped by inefficient system and lack of staff. Went to downstairs one and almost as bad. Once food did arrive nowhere to sit. Ironic given the place is full of furniture! When eventually a table became available it was filthy. Was tempted to take food back to one of the set piece dining rooms upstairs! Horrible experience with a newborn and toddler in tow. To cap it all awful coffee!

Oh my god... this place is just full of the things that you wish someone had thought of making...and actually has.. And you go on for a set of glasses, and come out with a new sofa...😉👍

Went in person to the shop. They had the goods i wanted but it was hard to find due to poor shelf labelling and when i found i had taken the wrong items, staff we unhelpful and the staff at the information desk didn't even acknowledge i was standing in front of him - focusing instead on his computer - though there was noone else even close to us that he might have been helping.

3 members of staff didn't know what an "ottoman" was so the customer service /journey was very different

Could do with more tills open at busy times. Did the click and collect today about 6 on a Friday, 8 minutes from engine off to on, including loading a new bed frame

Standard IKEA with good range of home items

IKEA the shop is great but the cafe let's it down badly. Ordered a bacon roll this morning, bread was hard and stale, the bacon was cold and don't even mention the woman on the till! Will avoid nxt time!

I especially enjoy looking through downstairs in the kitchen utensils area.I always buy something for my new kitchen.

I bought a nice few items was easy to go around with my mobility scooter but the breakfast was cold and not very good quality

The experience was good overall, especially the customer care, however, the sample I was looking for was not available, so I either had to purchase the entire box of tiles or select another sample option, which I did.

It's IKEA. Everything is neat and tidy and planned out. Adding to leisurely experience.

Being something of a Scandimaniac anyway, I do like Ikea. Their approach to consistent high quality and easy packing and assembly is excellent, and the food market is great when taking a trip to Sweden just isn't viable. The Cardiff branch is particularly pleasant. Most UK branches are very bust compared to the ones I've visited in other countries, and whilst Cardiff is far from dead, it's a much more pleasant experience going around it, with space and sensible customer levels. Am excellent member of the Ikea family.

Noticed they have less damaged items for sale now. Does anyone know why they are not giving the free wood away now, that used to be outside on a trolley.

The Swedish Food Market near the checkout is a great place to pick up unique treats like Daim cakes, lingonberry jam, and frozen meatballs. I also used the Click & Collect service once, and it was incredibly efficient—I placed an order online and picked it up with minimal waiting time. And they have fantastic return policy and order online and collect at store facility as well . Free small parts for assembly always available at store and also deliver online at home as well free,which all I feel were fantastic. IKEA Cardiff is a fantastic destination for home shopping, offering affordable, stylish, and practical furniture. The overall experience is enjoyable, whether you’re redesigning your home or just browsing. I highly recommend visiting, especially on weekdays when it’s less crowded! Would I return? Absolutely!

Standard IKEA experience, got a good sense of what furniture to order, no surprises but decent, well designed stuff as always. Standard except the cafe was in a bit of disarray, with no trays, no knives, no mayonnaise. Worked out alright in the end tho.

Larga cola - el plato del día era pescado, patatas fritas y guisantes, pero tenía que esperar a que el pescado se cocinara (junto con otros), lo que significaba que estaba comiendo mi comida después de que el resto de mi familia había terminado sus albóndigas. Las porciones son definitivamente más pequeñas de lo que solían ser y también están usando tazas más pequeñas, así que el chocolate caliente no valió la pena y tuvimos la gran pizca de la mujer en la caja que no se le permitió recargas más - este es el caso traer de vuelta una taza de tamaño decente para empezar - incluso los rollos de canela han reducido de tamaño. También nos sentamos en una mesa con aire acondicionado soplando por encima que hizo que su comida se enfriara en cuestión de minutos. El personal es lo suficientemente amable, pero no vamos a tener ninguna prisa para volver, que es una pena porque nos encantó un viaje en familia y el almuerzo a Ikea en un día lluvioso.

Seen better days sned staff all walk around like they hate their jobs. Depressing. It can't be only me who thinks their meatballs more taste of nothing and no longer makes it worth going?

Typical IKEA shop always confusing unless you really know what you want but some great bargains to be had in the last chance section and reasonably price electrolyte along with an ice cream or hotdog for 75p

Ok cafe never seems to have coffee or coke drinks not working

Parking was easy. Breakfast was cold and had to queue for ages to get it. Only 1 of 6 coffee machines was working so more queuing. Usual wide range of products available and we get what we wanted but only after taking some time to find a member of staff to help us. Disappointed that tils were all self service.

IKEA Cardiff is a great store in the Grangetown area of Cardiff. Furniture beds kitchens and much much more for the home. Great Coffee shop and Restaurant. Plenty of free parking. Escalators or lifts to all floors. Wheelchair friendly and disabled toilets. Well worth a visit.

Attended IKEA in Cardiff today with my newborn child. To my surprise in the café, They had a section where you could feed your child in a secluded room. however in the bathroom the only facility they had to change your child, was a seat! which required your child to sit upright meaning there are no changing tables in the Cardiff site! I asked another customer to check in the female toilets, they had the same item where it was a small fold down chair bolted to the wall and not the table. As my child is below 3 months it is unable to sit in a chair, nor could you change a child's nappy whilst in the sitting up position anyway... This leaving me no option but to change my child's nappy on the floor of the disabled toilets which is an absolute disgrace very poor facilities at this depot

I love this shop. So much to see and always great quality and great prices. Definitely a great selection and great service can always find what you want!! Will be going back again soon to get some artificial plants for our holiday home.

They need to buy salade dressing unless you like just eating dry lettuce and be carful your not eating on a chipped plate

I am not one to give bad reviews but a trip to ikea frustrating slow checkouts and don’t even bother trying to get food it’s way too slow I never want to visit again

Shocking Cafe...Cold food, long queues, the hot drinks area was disgusting, not clean, milk, hot chocolate spills all over the place, no one cleaning the area. Three out of four Tea/Coffee machines were out of order leading to long queues. People who had hot food left waiting for ages as only one till staffed and then having to wait 10 minutes to get their hot drinks...A total disgrace, surprised environmental health haven't paid them a visit?

It has great storage solutions. I enjoy wandering around picking up ideas. Had an annoying experience today. I noted down the aisle and location of a birch table only to find it was white when I got home. Returned it and found the birch in a different location. An extra 24 mile journey. ☹️

Came here looking for furniture the other day. Was the usual idea shopping experience but this time we thought we would have a food while here. The food was ok for the price. The staff in the canteen area have to be the slowest serving people I've ever seen. Was in the que for over 15 minutes then when at the till the guy was the most miserable person I've met. Extremely slow service. Off putting.

The family visited IKEA for tea. We arrived at 6.30pm on a very busy day in Cardiff to find quite a queue in the restaurant. I thought there wld be no food left as it closed at 7pm but the staff were filling the turines with fresh hot food and there was a good choice of food to be had and excellent value for money! I cldnt fault it and the staff were all very polite, happy and obliging after probably a very long day serving food!! I'll certainly be returning in the future, if only to visit the restaurant!! Well done to all the staff! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

They have different sections for what they sell. The beauty of it is that their items are quite affordable. I love the fact that they have canteen.

The take out coffee area was so dirty I left there. I had not been around the store, it was a quick coffee take out... Ive never seen the place look so filthy, everything was grubby, the bin was overflowing onto the counter area, food residue all over the place. I left my drinks there and went elsewhere, awful.

Estoy realmente sorprendido y decepcionado por lo pobre que fue el servicio en el punto de venta de comida Market Hall de Ikea. El sistema de pedidos con las pantallas digitales fue bastante fácil, pero ahí terminó la experiencia positiva. Esperar 30 minutos para 1 perrito caliente, una bolsa de papas fritas y 2 refrescos es más que ridículo. Solo había uno de los dos mostradores abiertos, con solo tres empleados —uno reabasteciendo bollos de perritos calientes y atendiendo los hornos, cocinando lo que parecían suficientes bollos de canela para alimentar a todo Cardiff, uno preparando pedidos y otro sirviendo a los clientes sus pedidos— y ni una sonrisa entre ellos. Mientras tanto, la cola era enorme, y todos a mi alrededor se quejaban de la larga espera por su comida. Fue muy caótico. Para empeorar las cosas, una vez que finalmente recibimos nuestro pedido, la zona de estar estaba repugnantemente sucia y no era apta para sentarse a consumir alimentos, ya que no se había limpiado en horas. Fue con diferencia la peor visita que he tenido en Ikea. Ikea - Si vas a introducir un nuevo sistema de pedidos, por lo menos asegúrate de tener suficiente personal para apoyarlo adecuadamente, particularmente durante las horas pico en un día muy ocupado. La configuración actual es un desastre, y quien gestione el equipo de catering o los puntos de venta debería sentirse avergonzado por la falta de servicio y limpieza. No me apresuraré a regresar pronto a menos que las cosas mejoren drásticamente.

Update Jan 2025, crazy checkout queues due to new alleged express checkout forcing you to download their app. Went at a quiet time to. How about getting some staff in to take the customers money. It's IKEA free pencils tape measures and coffee if your a family member.

We went to look mainly at sofas, the one we were interested in didn’t have any display models with the head rest, so hard to know what it will be like with them, which is frustrating. But the experience in the restaurant was atrocious. We queued about 30 minutes to order, they were out of mashed potatoes, and the glasses and cutlery were filthy; I had to rummage through before we found something usable.

Ikea shop cardiff was well stocked up. Clean and tidy. The only thing the restaurant was very busy. The serving staff were quite slow and the fridge where the drink dessert and starter were pretty empty with no choices at all!!

Ikea family card is well worth it - grab yourselves a free hot drink when you visit!!

Nos detuvimos en el poco que vende hotdogs. Realmente horrible. Prácticamente no hay asientos. Creo que se espera que te pongas de pie y comas. Impactantemente sucio - comida por todo el piso y superficies. La máquina de bebidas estaba tan sucia que no quería tocarla. La comida era barata, supongo. No puedo ver cómo no se ha cerrado.

It was my first time here and I was amazed at the layout of the show rooms. They stock a great range of home furnitures and the prices look good. There is an impressive restaurant within the premise.

El gerente del restaurante sueco debe comer un plato lleno de la comida festiva de albóndigas. La Bruselas donde un color muy peculiar más cercano frío empapado e insípido. Las papas asadas y las chirivías se secan y una vez más son insípidas. La col roja tibia y bastante aguda. Las albóndigas tibias. ¿Por qué no me quejé, alguna vez traté de hacer eso en el restaurante? Busqué a alguien pero todos estaban ocupados con la Navidad sueca. No es una persona feliz, pero bueno, es Navidad.

My experience with IKEA’s kitchen installation service has been nothing short of frustrating. The installation itself has been plagued by delays, and what’s most disappointing is IKEA's complete lack of communication. Despite multiple promises of callbacks and updates, I’ve been left in the dark time and time again. When I’ve reached out for clarity or to simply get an idea of when the work will be completed, responses have been sporadic at best. This lack of responsiveness has caused major inconvenience and disrupted my plans, both at home and professionally. It’s disheartening to invest in a project intended to enhance my living space, only to feel abandoned by the very team supposed to deliver it. I had expected much better from IKEA, but this experience has left me reconsidering my trust in their services. For anyone considering IKEA’s installation services, be prepared for potential delays and a worrying lack of communication. I truly hope IKEA takes steps to address these issues because, at the moment, I am left feeling let down and frustrated.

I went here with my partner for breakfast. Let’s just say it’s appalling. The people serving food are very rude and look really angry. The dishes and glasses are the worst I’ve seen in a cafe. Safe to say we won’t be back to Cardiff ikea lmao 🤢

Just been to IKEA Cardiff which is our favourite place to visit for lots of reasons. However, the whole store is now automated, no till staff just dozens of self service checkouts including the food store and cafe. No lifts working, escalator out of order, no staff available to help. It's a thoroughly horrible experience and we won't be going again.I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone.

Inconsistent portion sizes. People ahead of us had mountains of chips whilst we got as pictured.. that amount of quinoa won't even feed a child.

The meatballs are delicious, and you can buy everything you’d need for your home here! I especially love the stuffed animals, and the calax is so useful for organising bits and bobs away.
