Square View Restaurant

Woodburn, Carrickfergus
08/05/2019: Very busy Resturant so advise would be to book in advance but I think they also do bar snacks which is equally as good.
18/04/2019: Visited here for the first time on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was really busy and as we hadn't booked but we're advised we'd have a table in about 20 minutes. On a Wednesday evening on the Specials menu all main are £7 each. We had a drink and whilst waiting ordered our food from the menu. ( On which there is something to suit all tastes)

Ownies Bar

Killycrot, Carrickfergus, <20£
27/05/2019: There were a bunch of us that had completed a rainy hike around the Gobbins, and needed a family friendly place for sustenance. A good range of drinks, a limited menu of bar food but just what we needed, a £6 burger with trimmings and fries, a platter of wings, loaded wedges, onion rings and ribs for two for £12, clean toilets, comfortable seating and Sky Sports News
22/05/2019: I’m the kind of person, who looks into restaurant reviews prior going! I love food! Thus, going to Carrickfergus sailing, on recommendation from marina staff and trip advisor, I finally chose to go to Ownies and wish I’d went elsewhere.

Mermaid Kitchen and Bar

Royal Portrush, Coleraine
03/06/2019: We were visiting Portrush and our Airbnb hosts recommended Mermaid for dinner. We were definitely impressed. All the food we ordered was fresh and well prepared! The service was excellent and decor great. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. We both agreed it was the best meal of our 10 day trip to Ireland!
03/06/2019: Was recommended this place by friends when visiting Portrush. We went for Sunday lunch and I had the roast chicken. The food was fabulous and you certainly get value for money, the meal I had could have done served 2, although glad it didn't as I wouldn't have wanted to share. My father had the chile beef pasta and again we certainly couldn't complain about any of it. The staff we're so friendly and accommodating especially as we just turned up with no booking, and they really did take an interest in you and ensued you enjoyed your food and visit without being over bearing, as there is nothing I hate more when eating are servers constantly asking if you're ok etc...

Millside Restaurant

Galgorm, Ballymena
29/05/2019: Pre booked lunch was tasty, satisfying and enjoyed by all of our party. Food was delicious with generous helpings and pleasantly served. Tender Roast beef served in largest Yorkshire puddings.chicken and salmon choices. Ended meal with a choice of creamy sweets, tea and coffee, good value meal, rounding off pleasant visit to Gracehill.
07/05/2019: Love this place never leave feeling hungry portions are huge and you can bring your own bottle as this is not licensed restaurant Never had any complaints staff and service are fantastic

Truva Meze

Waterside, Coleraine, <20£
12/04/2019: Whenever my wife and I are visiting family in Coleraine we have supper in this excellent restaurant. Usually I have their very tasty and freshly prepared Chicken Kebab. As one would expect they have a wide range of beers and wines. Service is first class and very friendly, their prices are very reasonable indeed. Should you be in this area on vacation or for any reason, you should dine in this top class restaurant.
16/02/2019: A very relaible stop when in the Coleraine area. I always enjoy the Truva kebab which consists of juicy, minced mixed meat on a skewer with a choice of dipping sauces. The waitress, who is originally from Bulgaria, is always very friendly and efficient.

The Rose Cafe

Portglenone, Ballymena
27/05/2019: Very enjoyable breakfast. Will definitely be back. Any chance off a bigger teapot for one person. Newspapers a welcome touch.
05/05/2019: I was staying overnight in Portglenone with a crowd of college friends when we stopped off here for lunch. Service was fabulous and the staff were super friendly. Food was great and all very reasonably priced. We liked it so much we came back for breakfast the next morning. Great selection and fantastic service.

Bushtown Hotel

Macosquin, Coleraine
07/05/2019: visited here the past two sunday evenings. yes twice as it is sooo good. had the evening carvery. first time 3 courses. second time only starter and main due to the amount to eat. very friendly service. best price carvery ive ever had. 2 courses £11.50. 3 course £15. they also have a 5 course on sunday lunch time. don't think i could manage that. the staff are first class and the service is second to none. will definitely be here more often.
24/04/2019: We visited the hotel on Easter Sunday as friends were treating us to carvery lunch. We hadn't been to the hotel for years as we normally go to the Lodge Hotel carvery but it was booked up. I have to say the food was excellent, possibly better than the Lodge Hotel, particularly, the main course. However the presentation of the food wasn't great - the starters & sweets presentation - so something for the hotel to take on board and improve - will be back!

The Tides

Atlantic, Coleraine
31/05/2019: We called in mid afternoon and booked a table for two for that evening.
26/05/2019: Waiter and chef were helpful as I have a food intolerance to additives. On special menus for food intolerances there is never a mention of additives but I don't think The Tides has this special menu. Worth them thinking about a three course meal without additives. I was reluctant because of this to order a starter and a desert so missed out on the special offer. I enjoyed pan fried cod in rapeseed oil with potatoes and lovely veg. (Additives in my food triggers unbelievable sickness) Lovely atmosphere views and service.

Oak Leaf Restaurant

Lower Glenshane, Magherafelt
10/11/2018: We visited here twice recently and had a great experience both times . Clean and comfortable surroundings , pleasant staff and good service . There is plenty of choice on the menu and all reasonably priced . Food is always yummy 😋
08/11/2018: Visited here recently for Sunday dinner, it was packed and the staff seemed to be stressed trying to cope, I think someone didn't turn in for their shift. The food was good and the menu varied. Lovely building, would return.

Glebe, Magherafelt
07/05/2016: Excellent service and brilliant food and very friendly staff, highly recommend it to anyone the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, the management went out of his way to help and very friendly, the food was excellent and would stay again,
14/02/2016: Dinner here to try the Valentine weekend menu and all I can say is it was totally amazing. From the beautifully set room, the great staff and finally the fantastic choice of menu and the delicious food. The cauliflower and Brie soup with caramelised red onion bruschetta was so delicious , hopefully it will appear on the menu again soon, the carpaccio of beef was fabulous, chicken with a tarragon velouté with a generous portion of beautiful veg every bite was so good and finally the trio of beautiful home made desserts. This is definitely the best valentines menu I have ever eaten with not a silly red sauce etc in sight thankfully. The food and service here is always good but this took the menu to a whole new height. Would happily return to eat it all again today but alas its not to be

The Fern Room

Castle Demesne, Ballymena
02/07/2018: I was visiting Ballymena on a half-day trip from Belfast doing some genealogy exploration in the area. I stumbled upon the Fern Room atop the McKillan shoe store (probably one of the largest shoe stores I've ever been in, btw). I was anticipating a quaint, lacy, antiquey type of tea room, but its more like a cafeteria. Little ambiance. Small salad bar, some hot foods. Honestly nothing appealed to me so I chose a scone and bottle of water. The scone was fine, nothing special, but did the trick for me. Several tables of people (mostly women) who looked to be taking a shopping break. Its certainly well located for that.
15/04/2018: Such a privilege to be able to eat here often. The food is always great with a good selection. The owner of the building that the cafe is in always personally checks if you’re okay with everything and it is always good to talk with an honest man like Thomas. Here is upper class food at its best.

Drumnakeel Herb Garden & Restaurant

Glenshesk, Moyle
