Beautiful food at a great price, highly recommend

Food and atmosphere were spot on, suitable for a range of ages, and less expensive than might have been expected.

We visited here on Thursday 6th March 2025 without booking a table and got seated straight away by a lovely fella, the place was absolutely packed! We ordered the bbq burger and the salt and chilli chicken burger, garlic cubes and chilli and sour cream fries, all was really delicious! We then ordered the sticky toffee pudding and the cheesecake for dessert and they were presented so well and tasted so good!!! The Newbridge is having a 1/2 price off all food so our bill was a total of £23.70! Would highly recommend this place to anyone we will be back!!!

One of our party had horrendous food poisoning after eating here. Never again and have reported to the council

Looked nice from the outside although on hindsight there wasn't a lot of cars in the car park....that should have been a warning. Stopped in here on our way home from visiting friends in Coleraine. I wish we hadn't bothered. There was only a few tables occupied and for some strange reason we were placed at a table at the far side which over looked the bin area!! We were given menus, our drink order was taken and then we were left for almost 20 minutes until my husband went up to the bar and asked if we could have our drinks and if someone could take our order. Again I wish we'd just left at this stage. Food came out quite quickly to be fair, but it was terrible. My meat was really chewy and tough and stringy, clearly just cheap meat. My husband's fish was also tough, he decided not to eat it as he was worried it wasn't right. We left most of our food but the waitress didn't seem to notice this or maybe just didn't care. We will never be back in this place ever again and I would urge anyone reading this, who is contemplating a visit here, to try somewhere else. It is by far the worst restaurant I have ever visited.

Haven't been here for years and definitely went tonight to take advantage of the great deal, but even with the great savings, the food quality and service did not drop like you see happen in other places. Won't be so long until we're back again.

***EDIT - January 2025 After such a great experience during a previous booking it was with great disappointment that we had no choice but to leave our meal unfinished and leave as the 2 front of house staff proceeded to play a very explicit song (love sosa by chief keef), in a clear bid to get us to leave with our 2 young children,(we were the last remaining customers as we had prebooked our table online), when my husband brought this to their attention he was informed that they couldn't stop the song and made no effort to apologies or turn the volume down! It's really sad that the reputation of this establishment has been ruined by 2 staff members wanting to end their shift early by making the remaining paying customers so uncomfortable. Fantastic!! Pre-booked, taken straight to table with safety barriers between tables. Service was brilliant and food was delicious, can't wait to return!!

Having been here on several occasions and been previously pleased, we can safely say that we won’t be back. Gone really downhill since the last time, soggy fish and chips, soggier bruschetta, mushroom sauce was cream with a few mushrooms chucked in, fried banana must have been green to start with, to top it all service was poor no one asked how our food was (maybe they knew what the response would be). We left nearly as much on the plate as when we started. They offered a free dessert to make up for it but having tasted their previous offerings we weren’t going to risk it. Hopefully they can turn it around but we won’t be back to find out…

Went for ‘dinner’. The veggie option was a plate of broccoli and asparagus. It was admittedly tasty but can in no way be considered a main dish. We ordered two starters - corn ribs and pakora. The corn ribs was half a boiled corn on the cob cut into quarters and doused in bbq sauce and the pakora was so greasy you couldn’t taste anything but the oil. Once we’d been served our mains we didn’t see a waiter / waitress til we called them over long after we had finished.

Staff were friendly and professional. Food very disappointing. Rump steak very chewy, didn't get one proper bite. Main was cold, even the pepper sauce. Only part that was warm was the salt and chilli fries but they where hard and under cooked. Husband got beef on champ and his was really cold too and the beef was rubbery like prepacked beef reheated and gone cold. Nacho starter was OK, best part of the whole meal to be honest. The place has really gone down hill from previous visits.

Very quiet unusually but perfect for pre Christmas with the family on a short visit. ALWAYS great food and service in very comfortable surroundings. Lovely extensive menu for all courses and just as extensive a drinks and NA list too.

Very disappointing dining experience. Staff were quite dull apart from one very friendly chap stephen i believe his name was but i think he must of finished his shift after serving food to the table the other staff appeared to not be interested did not attend our table to ask about drinks etc, food was mediocre, myself and a friend both ordered teriyaki duck with rice noodles that was not rice noodles but appeared to be tagliatelle pasta which was all clumped together not cooked properly and the teriyaki sauce was watery.for dessert three of us ordered apple crumble which came down cold and doughy crumble asked to get it heated which was not a problem the sticky toffee pudding was dry and done to long in microwave tasted burnt. When i complained got no response from any of the staff but when Bill came down they had reduced price of mine by £6 but not my friends who's dish was the same as mine. No apology at all .

Have been going here maybe once or twice a year for a few years now and as I'm an optimistic I like to think "next time it will be better" but this visit will be my last. The restaurant has in my humble opinion just gone downhill these past few years which is a pity as aesthetically it's a nice place to look at. I am a wheelchair user and the first obstacle was getting in. They have placed outside tables for summer eating right on the access path - not a chance to get past them. My partner had to physically move the heavy benches and tables to let me squeeze past. The ramp into the restaurant is excellent just getting to the ramp is a problem. The menu hasn't changed much over time - the food used to be a lot better but again it's gone downhill in preparation. A burger is a burger but there are exquisite burgers and not the burnt shrivelled burger that appeared on my plate. I'm suspicious it had been a leftover burger and had been reheated. I did complain and it was replaced but the second burger wasn't any better. Service is very very slow but always has been. You wouldn't need to be wanting a quick bite. My partner had a very ordinary chicken maryland. Nothing special about it. Frozen breaded chicken and a mushroom sauce which wasn't a mushroom sauce it was fresh cream with a few mushrooms stirred in. At over £50 for 2 (included non alcohol drinks) I felt it wasn't value for money nor a great dining experience. Overall I'm surprised again at this restaurant as it's part of a group of 3 restaurants and the standard of the other 2 is miles above thus one

Dinner was horrible. Food came out cold. Mash potatoes were like water. Steak was of poor quality and cold. Not value for money and we won't be ruining any further dinner dates going there.

Had a good meal, clean premises. The biggest let down was the service. It was a lack of interaction by the waitresses, the delay in being served was not their fault, there were only two to take orders and clear tables, they weren't slow in bringing the bill though, we hadn't had our desserts at the time. Very disappointed.

I ordered the chicken supreme which came with a ‘block’ of dauphinois potatoes, broccoli, gravy and 2 very small pieces of chicken. It was accompanied by a purée of carrot with a hint of star anise (baby food). It was possibly the worse meal I’ve ever had. What were they thinking? £19 later. The dinner is in the bin and I shall never eat in there again.

Great deal for 2 courses for price of your main. Food was delicious. Recommend the pork belly starter :)

Sadly quite disappointing this time, was booked for 8pm, wasn’t told they close at 8.30pm!! Food was average at best, presentation was not good (Gordon Ramsay would have had a fit!) we were only one of two couples, then the other couple left we were the only couple in the restaurant. We had staff sweeping around us making us feel rushed. Not professional. The banana fritter was literally one quarter of a banana, clearly from frozen stock. The pineapple fritter was a slice of pineapple (not battered!) come on guys do better. We wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back.

My starter moules mariner mussels where cold, waitress said I’ll take them and get them warmed, I said please don’t I no longer want them, she returned and stated they were taken of the bill without an apology of sorts, my guests roast beef dinner came out in a bowl compressed together covered in a load of tobacco onions an excessive amount, with a large piece of lemon buried in the meal. My other guest ordered breaded cod and it was very thin and seriously over cooked. There was only a few tables filled at this point so busy can’t be an excuse. We have visited here many times without complaint but on this occasion we were shocked to hear that it was the same chef. We were seriously disappointed on this occasion. The atmosphere was also low as in the past all tables were occupied, not sure what’s going on in the kitchen but there is

Delicious dinner after a busy day on the Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. We were greeted & seated promptly. Food was excellent; we had salmon & a salad and shared a dessert (berry layered white chocolate trifle). The staff took good care of us. Very much enjoyed our evening meal.

Overpriced food. The basic price of the food is very high but you then have to pay for extras. For example if you order the battered cod it comes with a drizzle of green slime (peas) but if you want chips or ketchup then both are extra. The staff were so rude, the restaurant was cold and then both my children were sick when we got home. Never ever will we go there again.

Booked a table last minute for sunday lunch. This was the first time I had been to this restaurant & I was impressed as soon as we entered. The decor was really lovely. Myself and my husband ordered beef & my daughter ordered roast chicken. All 3 dinners were beautiful, so tasty! Gravy was delicious. Also ordered the lemon drizzle cake for dessert which again was beautiful. We will definitely return.

Reasonably good food, not a lot of variety on the menu dish-wise, expensive for what it was. Service was fair, restaurant was quiet when we arrived but we were seated beside 2 other couples, not great given that we wanted/expected a quiet and relaxed dining experience. By the time we left the place was busy and noisy.

Really disappointing my sons chicken was pink, meal was replaced but it was still pink when it came back 🤮

Can't fault it. Been a few times but last visit was Father's day. Great service and friendly staff where nothing is an issue. Great with the kids who get a colouring pack. Something else is the kids portions are actually kids portions. As I said at the beginning, can't fault it. Recommend!

Visted 9th June. Group of x9. Seated in a nice long table just behind Entry Podium. Young waitress who took our order and was looking after our table was lovely. Pleasant & Professional. Young lady bringing food to the table however, needs spoken to regarding her attitude and approach to customers. Entire table felt the same way about it. Food overall was disappointing. Starters especially. Pork was basically all fat - no meat. Nachos greasy and saturated in sauce. Herb Crusted Cod very dry as was the Potatoes with it. All just poorly executed. Pics Attached. Great parking. Nice clean toilets. Lovely setting inside. Would we hurry back based on the food - unfortunately not.

I've been to the Newbridge a number of times and the food is always solid, particularly for the prices.

The food filled the hole, that's about it.

On visiting the new bridge on Sunday evening for a meal we were very disappointing. It’s the worst meal we have ever had. First off all they have same meal advertised at 9pound 99 we picked same meal and was charged 16 pound 95 .Big difference. It was the worst meal we have ever had . I ordered gravy with mine. When it came it was Swimmim in Gravy and Pepper Sauce. We got no side order . The meat was raw . We couldn’t cut it.. We will never be back . Feel sorry for the staff who gets the slack for uncooked food. The girl who served us was more than helpful and did her best to get us to pick something else. Should be the chief who cooked the food that comes out and explains to the customers why the food is raw. . We were told it was just a bad joint !!!!

Service was friendly and attentive. Most of the food, starters, mains and desserts were very good but our herb crusted cod was over cooked and dry. We didn’t say anything was everyone else at the table were enjoying their meals. Except for this the food was good value for money.

We arrived at the Newbridge to be warmly greeted and quickly seated. We were served a drink promptly, our waitress was lovely and our food arrived 18 minutes after ordering. Our food, which were generous portions (Chicken Flatbread and Chicken Maryland) was hot, beautifully presented, and very very tasty. Thank you for a great experience from beginning to end

good food at reasonable price, with friendly and efficient service

All is good say about £50 for 2 main courses, 2 desserts and 1 starter. Too stuffed to have a starter I knew if I had a starter I wouldn't finish my sweet. Near where I live.

A table of 20 of us, service was good, waitress was great and had a bit of craic with us,meals not pre-ordered but all served fairly quick and together, food was good, ok it was midweek and quietish, but still good, worth trying if in the area.

Arrived as a walk-in, the waitress looked at us and I said that we didn’t have a reservation. The waitress never said a word, just fiddled with the computer and after some time lifted two menus and walked away. I assumed we were to follow. We sat down at the allotted table and waited, and waited. A different waitress eventually arrived and asked did we want to order? Well that’s what we were waiting for. After placing our food order, my wife asked if we could order drinks? The reply was “yes” like it was an effort. We were presented with a decanter of tap water and two grubby glasses. When the food eventually arrived, the sirloin steak was bland and tough, I was hungry so I ate it. My wife ordered the spiced crusted cod, which was dry, not hot and coated with what looked like chip seasoning. She sent it back after taking one bite. We were lucky, I suppose, that we weren’t charged for it. This restaurant is owned by the same people who own Tides in Portrush. We frequent Tides fairly regularly and have never been disappointed there. Will definitely not be back.

The food and staff were great. My only issue was that the wooden bench was quite uncomfortable, and the salt cellars were VERY fast flowing.

7 of us went last Sunday for a birthday meal x service was very slow x food wasn't nice and they left us the desert menu and never came back for order X had to ask for birthday cake on way out as they didn't bring it out x has went downhill very badly xx won't be in a hurry back

The food was disgusting, I got a hair in my pasta . And the chicken was undercooked and pink , would not recommend this restaurant. I had to pay full price for a disgusting pasta !

Great spot for a family dinner. Bit noisy in the corner we sat in and the service could have been a bit more sharp (took a while to be greeted and our drinks order got mixed up) but the food was lovely, good portions and good value for money. Would recommend.

Was here for lunch on Fri 17th Nov. Floor staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food was presented well and tasted great. Our son had a child's penne pasta dish which was a very generous portion. Kids menu card was full of puzzles and pictures to colour which kept him busy and more importantly quiet ☺️ Will visit again soon, highly recommend to anyone.

Nearly died off when I ordered an, yes an £18 burger with one of my friends to find out that it did not come with a side- yes this was extra, also the burger had no bacon, bbq sauce and was miniscule about 3-4mm thick and hardly any cheese. My credit card felt violated when I had to pay and no one asked us how our meal was- I wonder why!! Wont be back

A very clean and modern restaurant with a very friendly set of staff. The food is exceptional in terms of quality and for value.

We had booked a retirement buffet in Newbridge Restaurant.....food was first class as was the staff. Highly recommended Restaurant.

Visited as a family of four adults and two babies. Beautiful food and catered for gluten free as well which was great. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. pram friendly and changing facilities. Staff were attentive. Would definitely visit again

Where do I start ... felt for the waitresses. I got bbq ribs they were as tough as old boots had to send them back .. then mains ordered a pizza which came out which I thought was nice to start with till I cut into middle bit an the dough was dough literally an juices running out of it .. I didn't want any more or anything from them ... offering a alcohol or soft drink in place of a 18 quid meal disgraceful .. my daughter ordered salt an chilli prawns to her dismay got them which was 3 prawns an a chicken strip .. glad to say not be back an wish I hadn't booked it for my Granddaughters birthday meal . I left . Never again 😒 truly disgusted.

Very slow service, food came out at different times and some of the orders were forgotten about. We had to ask for forgotten sides a number of times. The children’s chicken was pink! The one star is for the ice cream, it was good. Very disappointed as we had come as a large gathering. Don’t normally write negative reviews but felt strongly about this experience. Won’t be back.

Love the Newbridge, always a pleasure to go there. The staff are warm and friendly nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent service is brilliant.

I like that they have a full allergens menu, although the dish I wanted wasn't included on the allergens list. However, I asked was it dairy free and they were happy to check it out for me. The dish was nice, but just too much sauce for my liking. I went back a few months later and same scenario all round. They have colouring in for kids etc. Pork belly to start is nice, but looks a bit plain the way it's presented. Had chicken and plum stirfry for main.

Called in here for lunch as a walk-in. Had a Chicken Maryland which was great. Staff were very good and answered any questions we had. Good value for money as you can order a main meal only and aren't tied to 2 or 3 course for a deal. Will be back again👍

Lovely meal ADDENDUM I have to say, when I'm up in Coleraine, I always bring my daughter here, and I'm yet to have a nap meal there. Lovely food and very reasonable prices.

Mark ordered a beetroot salad see photos Not salad greenery misleading on the menu Poppy got sprayed on the arm with the waitress cleaning the table beside us with disinfectant and her mobile ……..her drink was there too but who knows where that spray went. I got cod with chorizo crust and the cod was so chewy ……..dry over cooked it didn’t flake it had to be cut. Wasn’t a chorizo crust more a bread crumb Complained and they agreed to replace with a dessert but it really doesn’t cut it.(they were kids maybe first job etc had no real adult management supervision) I was asked a number of times what dessert I wanted but I had to keep saying that I didn’t know didn’t want to rush my family they where still on mains and I hadn’t seen a Menu! 🤷‍♀️ My husband had to ask 2x for the bottle of wine we ordered for our mains ….they had totally forgotten. The waitress came to the table to collect our plates and asked my husband to pass her the ketchup pot chip pot etc …..totally unprofessional We where seated upstairs and it is very cramped and again the young kids behind the bar are throwing the empties in the bin At ridiculous force the noise makes you jump my young daughter jumped many a time but weather it’s stupid or not I also jumped a couple of times. The overwhelming feeling I get from this restaurant is that it is being run by kids there is no adult support. Kids who don’t know how to deal with complaints and no support for them. The chef needs some training in fishery cooking and if you call a starter or meal a salad give salad!! No fault falls with the kids but the owners and managers need to take stock. Very poor for this restaurant group, we visit their other restaurants regularly. There is no atmosphere the kids do not interact with the customers cause there is no role model showing them how to. Churros were spot on for dessert my two daughters loved them. I allowed the manager on shift at the till to read all of these concerns and she discounted our wine which we where grateful for …………as she is limited to what she can do but actually our desire tonight was to go out enjoy a meal (like we have previously done at this restaurant) with our kids and make memories……………..this didn’t happen tonight not sure we will be back. We still paid £94 we would happily pay £120 for the memories/experience we actually never complain just too many issues tonight. If we want fast food we go for fast food but when we go to a restaurant we want restaurant quality and service.

First time at The Newbridge Restaurant and it was a packed house. Great food, not cold or undercooked but done right. Staff were spot on, attentive but not overbearing and the atmosphere was brill, full house everyone in a positive vib. I WILL BE BACK....

The food was fantastic as always, with great tasting and a great portion size. Staff and atmosphere both top notch same as everytime we've been the nachos are a personal favourite for me and wife

Always nice to eat at the Newbridge, coming here for years. somewhat disappointed with what was a new starter for me as croutons and goats cheese. the croutons were rock hard and i dare the chef to eat a sample of this starter. i know croutons are made of crispy bread but this is an extreme and i believe this starter needs attention before someone breaks a tooth.otherwise the meal was average. not too busy. needs more vegetarian options. very noisy, possibly the time of year.

Had a lovely meal here with the family. Let down slightly by the fact my daughter has a milk allergy and although they had an allergen matrix for the menu, they dont have it for the kids menu. I chose the ribs to start, chorizo crusted cod and churros for dessert. The cod was slightly dry which was slightly dissapointing. The ribs and churros was delicious. The service was good but felt slightly rushed but all in all a nice meal was had.

Called in for lunch… even tho we arrived just at 2-30 we were served with a smile.. worth noting @newbridge that Google search of your restaurant has not been amended to reflect closing 2-30 until 5pm … there were other people arrived after us that were turned away… probably looked at Google too!!!!

Usually not a bad restaurant to have dinner in; however, my in laws and daughter recently visited and had a poor experience. Having waited over 45 min for service and having needed to force the attention of the serving staff, the food took 25 min to arrive. When arrived the food was both cold and undercooked. How any chef worth their experience can over cook something as simple as BBQ ribs is incomprehensible but the chef working on 20JUL2023 in the evening managed this. My mother in law couldnt even finish her meal it was so disgusting; my young daughter wouldnt eat her sausages as they were mushy. Management need to re-evaluate the chef(s) working that evening. My family unfortunately wont be back at the restaurant.

Very tasty, well cooked steaks. Surroundings were comfortable with a good atmosphere.

Booked table for 7pm. Was left standing until 7:20pm before being seated. Service was slow and awkward. Staff were inexperienced and somewhat rude. Not a pleasant experience but would consider a takeaway in the future as the food was very nice. June 2023.

Really enjoyed our meal. Stopped for dinner whilst passing. Both had short rib braised beef which couldn't be faulted. Service excellent, staff pleasant. Will visit again. Thank you

Food was okay. I asked for tomato instead of BBQ sauce on my pizza, but wasn’t given it. I also had the sticky toffee pudding (both the meals I had looked amazing), but it was hard and a bit chewy. It has a nice atmosphere, and is clean, but wouldn’t want to come here again. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the food wasn’t great.

Not as good value as it used to be but decent food, wide menu. It’s very popular.
