The Newbridge Restaurant in Coleraine

7 of us went last Sunday for a birthday meal x service was very slow x food wasn't nice and they left us the desert menu and never came back for order X had to ask for birthday cake on way out as they didn't bring it out x has went downhill very badly xx won't be in a hurry back

Lovely food and we got seen straight away. Only gave 4 for atmosphere as it was early and there weren’t many people in

The food was disgusting, I got a hair in my pasta . And the chicken was undercooked and pink , would not recommend this restaurant. I had to pay full price for a disgusting pasta !

Great spot for a family dinner. Bit noisy in the corner we sat in and the service could have been a bit more sharp (took a while to be greeted and our drinks order got mixed up) but the food was lovely, good portions and good value for money. Would recommend.

Was here for lunch on Fri 17th Nov. Floor staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food was presented well and tasted great. Our son had a child's penne pasta dish which was a very generous portion. Kids menu card was full of puzzles and pictures to colour which kept him busy and more importantly quiet ☺️ Will visit again soon, highly recommend to anyone.

Nearly died off when I ordered an, yes an £18 burger with one of my friends to find out that it did not come with a side- yes this was extra, also the burger had no bacon, bbq sauce and was miniscule about 3-4mm thick and hardly any cheese. My credit card felt violated when I had to pay and no one asked us how our meal was- I wonder why!! Wont be back

We had booked a retirement buffet in Newbridge Restaurant.....food was first class as was the staff. Highly recommended Restaurant.

Visited as a family of four adults and two babies. Beautiful food and catered for gluten free as well which was great. Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. pram friendly and changing facilities. Staff were attentive. Would definitely visit again

Where do I start ... felt for the waitresses. I got bbq ribs they were as tough as old boots had to send them back .. then mains ordered a pizza which came out which I thought was nice to start with till I cut into middle bit an the dough was dough literally an juices running out of it .. I didn't want any more or anything from them ... offering a alcohol or soft drink in place of a 18 quid meal disgraceful .. my daughter ordered salt an chilli prawns to her dismay got them which was 3 prawns an a chicken strip .. glad to say not be back an wish I hadn't booked it for my Granddaughters birthday meal . I left . Never again 😒 truly disgusted.

Very slow service, food came out at different times and some of the orders were forgotten about. We had to ask for forgotten sides a number of times. The children’s chicken was pink! The one star is for the ice cream, it was good. Very disappointed as we had come as a large gathering. Don’t normally write negative reviews but felt strongly about this experience. Won’t be back.

Love the Newbridge, always a pleasure to go there. The staff are warm and friendly nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent service is brilliant.

I like that they have a full allergens menu, although the dish I wanted wasn't included on the allergens list. However, I asked was it dairy free and they were happy to check it out for me. The dish was nice, but just too much sauce for my liking. I went back a few months later and same scenario all round. They have colouring in for kids etc. Pork belly to start is nice, but looks a bit plain the way it's presented. Had chicken and plum stirfry for main.

Called in here for lunch as a walk-in. Had a Chicken Maryland which was great. Staff were very good and answered any questions we had. Good value for money as you can order a main meal only and aren't tied to 2 or 3 course for a deal. Will be back again👍

Lovely meal ADDENDUM I have to say, when I'm up in Coleraine, I always bring my daughter here, and I'm yet to have a nap meal there. Lovely food and very reasonable prices.

Mark ordered a beetroot salad see photos Not salad greenery misleading on the menu Poppy got sprayed on the arm with the waitress cleaning the table beside us with disinfectant and her mobile ……..her drink was there too but who knows where that spray went. I got cod with chorizo crust and the cod was so chewy ……..dry over cooked it didn’t flake it had to be cut. Wasn’t a chorizo crust more a bread crumb Complained and they agreed to replace with a dessert but it really doesn’t cut it.(they were kids maybe first job etc had no real adult management supervision) I was asked a number of times what dessert I wanted but I had to keep saying that I didn’t know didn’t want to rush my family they where still on mains and I hadn’t seen a Menu! 🤷‍♀️ My husband had to ask 2x for the bottle of wine we ordered for our mains ….they had totally forgotten. The waitress came to the table to collect our plates and asked my husband to pass her the ketchup pot chip pot etc …..totally unprofessional We where seated upstairs and it is very cramped and again the young kids behind the bar are throwing the empties in the bin At ridiculous force the noise makes you jump my young daughter jumped many a time but weather it’s stupid or not I also jumped a couple of times. The overwhelming feeling I get from this restaurant is that it is being run by kids there is no adult support. Kids who don’t know how to deal with complaints and no support for them. The chef needs some training in fishery cooking and if you call a starter or meal a salad give salad!! No fault falls with the kids but the owners and managers need to take stock. Very poor for this restaurant group, we visit their other restaurants regularly. There is no atmosphere the kids do not interact with the customers cause there is no role model showing them how to. Churros were spot on for dessert my two daughters loved them. I allowed the manager on shift at the till to read all of these concerns and she discounted our wine which we where grateful for …………as she is limited to what she can do but actually our desire tonight was to go out enjoy a meal (like we have previously done at this restaurant) with our kids and make memories……………..this didn’t happen tonight not sure we will be back. We still paid £94 we would happily pay £120 for the memories/experience we actually never complain just too many issues tonight. If we want fast food we go for fast food but when we go to a restaurant we want restaurant quality and service.

First time at The Newbridge Restaurant and it was a packed house. Great food, not cold or undercooked but done right. Staff were spot on, attentive but not overbearing and the atmosphere was brill, full house everyone in a positive vib. I WILL BE BACK....

The food was fantastic as always, with great tasting and a great portion size. Staff and atmosphere both top notch same as everytime we've been the nachos are a personal favourite for me and wife

Always nice to eat at the Newbridge, coming here for years. somewhat disappointed with what was a new starter for me as croutons and goats cheese. the croutons were rock hard and i dare the chef to eat a sample of this starter. i know croutons are made of crispy bread but this is an extreme and i believe this starter needs attention before someone breaks a tooth.otherwise the meal was average. not too busy. needs more vegetarian options. very noisy, possibly the time of year.

Had a lovely meal here with the family. Let down slightly by the fact my daughter has a milk allergy and although they had an allergen matrix for the menu, they dont have it for the kids menu. I chose the ribs to start, chorizo crusted cod and churros for dessert. The cod was slightly dry which was slightly dissapointing. The ribs and churros was delicious. The service was good but felt slightly rushed but all in all a nice meal was had.

Called in for lunch… even tho we arrived just at 2-30 we were served with a smile.. worth noting @newbridge that Google search of your restaurant has not been amended to reflect closing 2-30 until 5pm … there were other people arrived after us that were turned away… probably looked at Google too!!!!

Usually not a bad restaurant to have dinner in; however, my in laws and daughter recently visited and had a poor experience. Having waited over 45 min for service and having needed to force the attention of the serving staff, the food took 25 min to arrive. When arrived the food was both cold and undercooked. How any chef worth their experience can over cook something as simple as BBQ ribs is incomprehensible but the chef working on 20JUL2023 in the evening managed this. My mother in law couldnt even finish her meal it was so disgusting; my young daughter wouldnt eat her sausages as they were mushy. Management need to re-evaluate the chef(s) working that evening. My family unfortunately wont be back at the restaurant.

Had lunch after graduation. Food staff and atmosphere were great.

Very tasty, well cooked steaks. Surroundings were comfortable with a good atmosphere.

Booked table for 7pm. Was left standing until 7:20pm before being seated. Service was slow and awkward. Staff were inexperienced and somewhat rude. Not a pleasant experience but would consider a takeaway in the future as the food was very nice. June 2023.

Really enjoyed our meal. Stopped for dinner whilst passing. Both had short rib braised beef which couldn't be faulted. Service excellent, staff pleasant. Will visit again. Thank you

Food was okay. I asked for tomato instead of BBQ sauce on my pizza, but wasn’t given it. I also had the sticky toffee pudding (both the meals I had looked amazing), but it was hard and a bit chewy. It has a nice atmosphere, and is clean, but wouldn’t want to come here again. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the food wasn’t great.

Not as good value as it used to be but decent food, wide menu. It’s very popular.

Starters was gd, choice of starter or dessert along with main for same price, ordered rump steak 🥩, medium definitely rare and was like chewing toffee, staff grumpy looking not even a hello. Long time before be back.

Both mains either frozen or cooked far too long. My dish was really dry with little flavour and my partners was so tough her hands got sore cutting it. Food was awful but we didn't complain because we had to be somewhere. The 2 stars was because the cocktail was nice

Tea time reservation made for 4 and a bill at 3 nearly 3 figures, the place was in chaos when we arrived. In total we waited over 2 and a half hours to get 2 courses served. The mains had to be sent back and re made, due to being stone cold and burnt. Each time food came up it was given to the wrong table, drinks were forgotten about. We were one of many tables of disgruntled customers this evening. We couldn't fault the young waiting staff who were run of their feet and left to apologise time and time again for errors made, with no evidence of any managers around to try and steady the ship of sort the situation. We've eaten many times over the last few years in Newbridge, however judging by ours and many other others experience this evening, can no longer recommend.

Disappointing experience tonight. An issue getting the starters out and main meals being less than warm.

Big changes here.. food just OK. Service awful. When arrived, seated by very unfriendly guy. Immediately, staff approached us asking what we wanted to order before getting chance to read menu. Actually 4 different waitresses asked us. Definitely won't be rushing back.

Very small portions for the price you pay, very overpriced always come away unsatisfied with what you've just ate..staff is friendly but in 5 mins of getting the menu we were approached about 4 times to order even though we were still looking at the menu ..wouldn't hurry back

Good service. Great food. Four options on main menu for vegetarians: burger, curry, tart or pasta. Good value with the 50% off in Aug. Although £4 for a glass of lemonade is ridiculous! (a bottle of beer was only £3.50!!) Update Jan 2023 Sorry folks. Knocking two stars off you. Service and staff I can't fault. Thank you. Two courses for the price of your main is still good value. But you've changed your menu. Starters for vegetarians were limited. Nachos. Which were barely edible. Only having the choice of burger or pizza for main is pathetic. That's not what I go out to a restaurant to eat!!! The halloumi burger was nice. My husband had the beef penne special which was ok he said. The majority of mains don't have a side so you're automatically bumping up the price. Sticky toffee pudding was good. Large lemonade £4.50 and a pint of Tennant's £5.50. Sorry folks: won't be recommending.

The Newbridge is a bright, spacious restaurant that is suitable for families. There is plenty of parking and disability access due to it being slightly outside Coleraine. The menu is fairly wide-ranging, and there will definitely be something for everyone, from simple tastes like steak to more flavoursome dishes like chilli chicken and stuffed pork. They also have a nice range of fish dishes with salmon, hake, and seasonally available seafood. Starters are exciting with the likes of King prawns, chowder, and duck pancakes. Deserts are good - a full range of the usual suspects served with local icecream (if you're local, you'll know!) Kids menu is extensive, catering for the plain eaters and those who are a bit more adventurous. The only complaint would be the lack of pizza for kids. I'm not sure why that is because there is pizza for adults. However, kudos to the kitchen as they made a fresh kids plain pizza when requested. Check out the daily specials for something a bit special, and when we went on a Sunday, there were two courses for £18. Service was ok. Most of the waiting staff are young students who may lack a bit of customer awareness and did enjoy standing in groups chatting to each other. Not a spoiler, though, and to be expected from such a young staff, however, that's where a good manager comes in. We didn't see a manager anywhere on the day we were there. The atmosphere was very average. I'm not sure why as there was nothing we could put our finger on. Perhaps tables could be slightly further apart, or some low background music might help. Anyway, it's not anything that should put anyone off going. Summary - good, relaxed family restaurant with plenty of choice and decent food.

Fantastic food and great service.

I won't be back to have a meal in this restaurant. My friend and I had traditional Turkey dinner which was cold and a very small portion, we didn't have a starter but had a pudding . The meal for us both was just over £60. Definitely not worth that amount of money, I could have made a better meal at home. Not pleased.

Beautiful food, friendly service, excellent value for money. *update* Like everywhere else prices have gone up here as of November 2022 and their offer is now two courses for the price of a main. Many side orders are now separate of main meal at an extra charge of £2. However I still think its very good value for money and food is still as delicious here.

I went to the New Bridge Restaurant today, what a disappointment my partner ordered salmon with champ as a side and I ordered the 8oz steak medium to well done with garlic fries we waited for about 15 minutes and the food arrived my partner’s salmon look fine but my steak was burnt black it was so bad that the knife had trouble cutting through it, I called the waitress and pointed this out she apologised and took it away, she returned after five minutes with another steak and said I don’t think this is cooked the way you ask but what do you think I said it looks better than the last one the waitress then said okay and walked away when I cut into the steak the blood run out of it I turned the steak over and the bottom side of the steak wasn’t even cooked it was disgusting I called the waiter and he came over I turned the steak over and cut through it and showed him how red it was he apologised and asked did I want another one and I said no he took the steak away and then came back and said it had been taken off my bill, when I went to pay for my partner’s meal which was £12 they tried to charge me £2 for the fries even though I had sent both back, I said to the waiter that my partner’s meal was £12 he said yes but I had got fries with the steak I told him they were sent back both times and £12 was all I would be paying he said okay. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Went to the Newbridge on Saturday 19/11/22 for a birthday party ,the meal was nearly a 2 hour wait and the service leaves a lot to be desired ,when we got the starters ,there was no spoons for the soup ,which was a ridiculous portion ,eg a child’s portion ,the person sitting beside me ate his with a fork ,yes a fork .the nachos we’re nothing like nachos , my meal came and it was supposed to be salt and chilli gougons ,with no chilli on them ,my fries were cold ,my hubby dinner was penne beef pasta with no sauce what so ever ,I’ve never been one to complain about food but this was a total disaster of a meal ,will never frequent this place again

I enjoy eating here. The food is very good for the price range and has great parking facilities so easy to access. It's got a good selection of food to pick from and the food in my experience has always been nice. Staff are friendly and seem to know what they are doing even though it's always young staff that's on. It's got a nice fresh, clean feel to the decor as well. This restaurant has changed hands a good number of times but recently has stayed the Newbridge for some time which is a good sign. The owners also own a number of restaurants around the cost, so they have been able to leverage their experience from the other restaurants to improve this one.

Good food at very competitive price was late so maybe the vibe would have been better earlier

Lovely restaurant, came across it whilst on holiday. Spotlessly clean, great food & lovely staff highly recommend.

On arrival no one took our drinks order. Had to call a waitress and still waited about 30 mins on drinks coming. Ordered food. Waited about 45 mins and asked what was the delay. Kitchen hadn't received our order apparently so had to order again. Then still had to wait about 30 mins for food to arrive. Food was good but service was terrible. Waitress apologised but we weren't offered as much as a free drink to compensate. Won't be back in a hurry.

Always liked the food and the atmosphere. I do feel that standards are dropping. Maybe booking in too many ppl to cope. Foods not hot enough, this has been the last four times we’ve been. Steaks cooked wrong, and again not hot!!! We were a table of 9 but if you can’t cope with bigger tables then don’t book people in. I will still come back I will just be more aware when my food arrives to make sure it’s ok .

Very disappointing evening was out for my 12 year olds birthday this evening The Waitress got the drinks order wrong to start with.. then got the food Order wrong and I was sitting with no food.. absolute shambles of a place need to drug test the Staff

First time very busy spot good food

Nachos were delicious, I would recommend this, the 1/2 roast duck and chilli chicken penne. There was a minor issue when were there, upon staff recognising the issue there was an apology and it was quickly resolved. Would not hesitate to return here.

Speedy service and good menu. Noisy when packed with families. Staff not always confident in their service as many are young, inexperienced and in need of some more training.

Food was lovely, service was abysmal. Service has went completely downhill recently. A month ago it took 45 mins to receive main course after finishing starter. Same again tonight and took 40mins after ordering to realise they didn't have what we ordered so had to order something else delaying the main course even further. (50mins between finishing starter and getting main) Had to ask twice for a jug of water for the table. When sides arrived part of order was wrong. Raised my concerns with the manager who was very apologetic and gave discount off the bill so that was nice.

There were about 20 of us at the restaurant, but it didn't slow down the service as you might expect with a large group. The waiting staff were efficient and patient. Everyone was delighted with their food. The restaurant was clean and bright. I had salmon and sweet chilli noodles for my main and lemon roulade for pudding, both were delicious. I will certainly be visiting again!

The Newbridge is located on the main Coleraine to Ballymoney Road it has a spacious car park to the front and side of the building you have to wait to be seated, we went on Father's Day which as you can imagine was a very busy day we were seated upstairs in front of the bar the interior is fresh and airy the staff are very friendly and efficient the menu has a very varied choice and is extremely lovely the Lattes are lovely and the prices are good value for money, my only criticism and it's a small one is the table right in front of the entrance to the bar has a lot of people walking around it and you don't get much privacy to enjoy your meal but that's just a very small criticism..

Fab food. Really good value. I brought my family of 5 for dinner and 3 of us got the 3 course deal. Everything we ate was delicious. There was a mix up with the kids sides but they let us keep the extras and brought us what we ordered very quickly. Can't fault the service. Very attentive and lovely staff. Will definitely be back again before we head hone to Kildare.

Just been.. Doesn't look like much from the outside but a wee gem.. We had a starter and main 2 large white wine and a soft drink.. 43pounds were would u get that in today's market very enjoyable food.. Staff lovely but kept very busy.. Lots of family's dinning and It can be noisy .. as we weren't sure of the area Mr google suggested it... Definitely worth stopping again...
