Very good food, relaxed atmosphere, really nice and attentive service. You feel comfortable here. And everything home-made. Top.

Wow, what a gem! Loved the vibe, food and drinks. My children said it was the best hot chocolate they'd ever had! The Perch Eggs, with their own home smoked salmon, were delicious and my husband thought the 'Full Scottish' was fantastic. My kids devoured their stack of pancakes with Nutella and strawberries. It feels a special place with it being a family business. Will definitely go again. :-)

Just been in for 2 breakfasts sausage is from farmfoods disgusting table spoon of beans scrambled eggs done in the microwave and black pudding is tasteless first and last time I'll be going there £14 for something I'll kot eat

This is our third visit to this restaurant, unfortunately a very disappointing visit. I decided to have the Sunday roast, what a mistake that was. Thd roast beef was as tough as old boots and the yorkshire pudding was very limp and not st all to my liking. so much so I complained and was offered to choose another course I declined. I was so disappointed I could not finish my meal. Another member of the party had the salmon which was off. The manager did not charge for these main courses. A most disappointing outing.

Had booked a table at a neighbouring hotel and whilst we waited we went a wander. Walked past The Village Rest and seen people sitting at the outdoor tables, food looked great accompanied by a great atmosphere. Had to cancel the booking at the hotel and popped in to try. Not in this part of the country often but wouldn't hesitate to return when I'm back. Only slight negative was the £8 kids pizza which looked a bit like a McCain microwave pizza done in the oven with some added cheese but my daughter loved it so trying not to moan. Everything was spot on! I had the bacon cheeseburger, very good. Table next to us had wraps all round and they looked great also. There was also some couples just enjoying a drink in the sun too. Something for everyone. See yous again soon hopefully!

Genuinely tasty coffee (had an americano) and friendly service

Not bad food family meal convenient, it was fine until we were leaving and went to the toilet desgusing and when I was leaving the front doors I meet the chef who was outside having a smoke but it wasn't a normal smoking as it was stinking of you know what ciggy was addition it put me right off the place

What an interesting range of Bier, not As I pointed to the second of the two cask hand pumps: Is the Deuchars on? "I think we have the GK IPA." The worst cask ale in the UK, then.

Was filling up with petrol, and this was next door...so...time for a Coffee and a Bacon Butty. 2.50 each. Quick service, surprisingly quick. Coffee was OK, but bacon was clearly pre-cooked and kept warm. Overall ? .... Adequate.
