Was filling up with petrol, and this was next door...so...time for a Coffee and a Bacon Butty. 2.50 each. Quick service, surprisingly quick. Coffee was OK, but bacon was clearly pre-cooked and kept warm. Overall ? .... Adequate.

Stopped in past here when on our way to Glasgow for a day out to get some coffees , my partner who is 7 months pregnant needed to use the toilet, my partner was told to go across the road to use the temporary toilets across in the car park. Absolutely shocking treatment will never be back here and not a very good customer service. Looking at most of your reviews on here if you don't like what you do and don't like to serve the public or run a cafe close up and do something else.

My wife and I had some lunch whilst taking a break on the way to Loch goil I had a cheeseburger It was excellent and very reasonably priced. My wife had a ham and tomato roll which was a bit lacking in ham. Plenty of parking available on the opposite side of the road. Good place go take a break

Stop here very often whilst coming back from up north....every time is the same, made to feel extremely unwelcome by the woman who owns and runs the place. Not just me but a few others who hill walk with us have commented on it. Last time took the biscuits, whilst waiting for our rolls asked for the keys for the toilet and she didn’t even look up , just snapped back it was closed???? No explanation or apology, nothing. We won’t be back, shame as the food is actually ok. She either should jack the job in or employ someone who knows how to interact with people.

Apart from the hotels, Arrochar in November mid week is mostly closed but you get a tasty haddock and chips for £5.50 at the Village Garden which is a chalet at the top end of the village beside the petrol station. They do hot rolls and things too.

Rude, avoid. We were clearly getting petrol, and I was treated rudely when asking for the toilet key. Expensive food...2 for a medium sized cup of coffee. It was good, but not gourmet. Apparently customers are a bother.

We stopped here twice on our weekend away and have to say the lack of customer service was quite off-putting. I feel when you walk into small businesses like this as an 'outsider' you should be made to feel welcome but I felt it was an effort to serve us on both occasions and I felt a little uncomfortable. Although we didn't come from too far afield, I think a place such as this must see tourists from all over the globe and it certainly wouldn't do any harm to be a bit more welcoming! The soup was nice, warm rolls were average as my title suggests, some welcoming smiles and more attentive service would definitely not go wrong!

Our group had came up to Arrochar on a snowy Sunday in February to help with beach clean efforts. Vivienne Was lovely and made some cracking chips with lovely curry sauce. We didn't try the rolls / burgers but the ones we saw looked great (so did the cakes). Prices were very reasonable this is a popular place with hillwalkers and locals and well worth a visit. Located right beside the petrol station so you can stop to grab a bite and fuel up at the same time and enjoy the lovely views while you are there.

Stopped off here after a drive to stretch my legs and get breakfast. Had to wait a wee while for someone to appear at the counter to serve, it is a rural location though so they probably have a few other jobs about the place to do themselves when is quiet. We ordered our breakfast rolls and two coffees. Food was all cooked fresh however they actually got my order wrong, no matter, the roll was still nice. The woman serving didn’t seem too thrilled to be there and the service was a little cold. This place is fine to stop off at for a quick bite to eat and the food is cheep and of the average standard. Plus they have a bathroom around the back which is handy after a long drive. I would stop off again if passing by

Next door to the petrol station - a small cafe which has burgers, sandwiches and other light snacks and drinks. For us, it was a perfect place to pick up a takeaway sandwich for our walk- the food is freshly made of sit, it's quick and very reasonably priced. They were able to cater for a vegetarian diet - offering chilli jam and salad sandwich or vege burgers. I recommend! Parking and toilets are available outside

Viv’s Kitchen Garden Café, Arrochar An attractive wooden ‘log cabin’ building on the side of the busy A83 road in Arrochar and next to the Gulf petrol station with a permanent caravan park out back and the head of Loch Long in front. We’d been on the road for just on an hour from Kames on the Kyles of Bute and it was time for a morning coffee break – turn a corner in the road and the café just presented itself conveniently as the road signs slowed us down. There was parking outside for a couple of cars, but these were occupied and we drove into the caravan site round the back and parked there. The café toilet is round the back too – but you need to access the key from the counter. There’s a menu on the wall next to the counter – all kinds of breakfast, brunch and snack meals – hamburgers, eggs, chips, etc. to enjoy with the usual options for coffee – cappuccino, expresso, white, filter, etc. Prices were good – couple of pounds for coffees and GB£2 to GB£6 for the different foods. Rolls with all kinds of fillings were a fraction under GB£2. We ordered coffees – cappuccino and flat white. A couple of women behind the counter took our order and made the coffees. We paid GB£4. The coffees were immediately available and served in disposable paper cups. Not as hot as we would have liked, but that wasn’t clear until we sat down. We sat inside - in an open front sitting area – room for half dozen people, with seating outside for another dozen or so at picnic-style benches. There were piles of used/second-hand books and magazines on an adjacent table and stacked in a small rack – but no indication of purpose – purchase, obviously, but prices, etc? The counter held a coin tin requesting help for people in Malawi. Perhaps the books were the basis for making a donation? Many years ago we had lived and worked in that scenically beautiful Central African country, and the picture on the tin stimulate many happy memories. How many customers calling into Viv’s Kitchen Garden Café would be able to place the country – we wondered? It was a thoughtful offer on the part of the café. As a place to stop the café was convenient – warm and comfortable with that essential lavatory on hand (that was clean too); as a coffee experience it was, how should we put it, well, average. Pleasant atmosphere then, but mixed coffee experience and no friendly smiles at the counter. Peter Steele 07 July 2017

Situated close to the car park, this is ideal if you are passing through or just finished a long walk. The food is basic, but does not matter when you just want a burger and chips. Was good value for money and a little oasis on a sunny day

This little place is handy for a quick meal. It is an unassuming looking spot with picnic tables outside and a couple of small tables inside. The food is made fresh by the charming owner and while it's not gourmet, it's really good and priced fairly. Conveniently located on the main road in Arrochar, Argyll, Scotland.

Situated next to the petrol station in Arrochar, it would be easy to miss and if you do make a point of going back for your take away food. Really reasonable and all freshly made and cooked while you wait - great selection of hot and cold food, soup and large choice of cakes and biscuits. A few tables available or can take over to the large car park overlooking the loch.

Best burger I've had in a long time. They do breakfast as well which is very good and great value for £. The staff is friendly and helpful and we were able to eat at a picnic bench outside with a beautiful view of the loch, however they do provide takeaway.

In our opinion not recommended The location is ok, right in the center. Some of the hotel's own parking spaces are in front of the door We didn't like anything else in this hotel. It was probably the worst hotel on our entire UK trip. We booked a better room with a view. I don't want to know what the standard rooms in this hotel are supposed to be like, but the room we got was dark, very worn and very dirty. Even though the relatively friendly manager at the reception assured us that it was the best room in the hotel, we don't want to believe him: firstly, because it would be a real shame for the entire hotel, and secondly, because it's not true: us We've already seen that there were rooms facing the sea in the same category, where it certainly wasn't as loud. And our room had a window facing the promenade with several bars and cafes, so it was very loud until late at night

Best part: rice is available Worst part: butter chicken tastes sweet, like coconut, like a pumpkin soup. With pieces of chicken floating in watery broth. As an asian tourist, i recommend you come here only if you need some rice in your system

Food was of a high standard and reasonably priced. The mussels were the biggest and plumpest I've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend although they do add a service charge on to the bill automatically, irrespective of the size of your party. It's a bit presumptuous, but i assume you can ask for it to be taken off.

Great ice-cream parlour! Lots to choose from! But it's overpriced for what it is frozen water and flavour can't be expensive! To make but it's alright I would recommend this place more than "vanilla" next door 🚪
