Love this cafe. The food is always great, service is excellent and the atmosphere is buzzy. Our breakfast today was simply excellent. Called the Salmon Breakfast it was 2 perfectly poached eggs, sliced avocado, smoked salmon and a slice of toast. Coffee was excellent too!

The Manager and Head Chef certainly too on the challenge set of providing a Yorkshire-style FEB. This involved taking off the American "hash brown" and mushrooms (brother allergic) and replacing with proper fried white bread and slices of black pudding to accompany the two fried eggs. grilled tomato, sausage, two slices of back bacon and a bowl of baked beans (Heinz started in 1901 so acceptable). Service was first class, food presentation and quality outstanding and we had a comfortable table by the open log fire whilst outside the frost had not lifted. Wonderful start to our day. Just wish Management would provide a grab rail or handrail for customer safety the front door which has steep steps. Beter signed Disabled parking would be a step in the 21st century as well

We are two friends who go for Sunday lunch every few weeks & try to find a new venue each time. The Papermakers Arms is one the Wrinkly Munchers will definitely visit again. Great, peaceful country atmosphere, friendly & attentive staff without being pushy. Reasonably priced & excellent food. We chose the roast beef and the beef bourguignon; both of which were delicious & perfectly presented. Apple crumble to follow was perfect. Not a huge menu (which I think is a plus as it indicates freshly prepared rather than microwave reheat) but good choice of locally sourced & seasonal food.
