Great place for a pint with a view and a bite to eat. Fantastic place to hold your party or private event in this large space. I have been to several events held here and the food has been outstanding

Just great, tapas and wine, what's not to love

Stopped to have a tea, latte and a slice of carrot cake. Great service and a huge slice of cake that we shared. Great value for money.

AVOID!! This is possibly the worst cafe I have ever been in. As someone previously noted, you can’t see in from the outside so you’ve no idea what you’ve committed to. The building itself is quaint, 17th century. We sat at the window. The window sill was covered in cobwebs. We ordered the afternoon tea which came with shop bought cakes one of the chocolate buns (cupcake would be an exaggeration) was mouldy. When we pointed this out to the owner there was no apology just a look of disdain. She returned with a strawberry one instead “just in case”. There is an abundance of eateries in Kendal - this venue should be considered a last resort!!

Friendly service, decent lunch reasonable prices, good choice of drinks

Came in for a cheese board and a bottle of wine, the lady behind the bar forgot my lemonade, the cheese board came and there was minimal amount of cheese, the meat was fatty which we didn’t eat! The cheeseboard was left on the table an hour and a half after finishing it, could hear the staff at the other side of the bar swearing, effin and jeffin, no service at all from them, apart from the poor young girl who’s first shift it was! Won’t be coming back as very disappointed, prefer to go 5oclock somewhere.

Great traditional pub. Excellent food menu and the food is awesome. I had the lasagne and it was delicious. The lady behind the bar was lovely and the regular patrons chatted away to me. Lovely comfortable place for a drink, food and a chat. Just how a pub should be. Thank you all for being so nice to this Aussie travelling through UK.

So many things now wrong with this cafe .Menu extensive but in no way enticing or different Have had better soup out of a tin . Sandwiches very very basic .Don’t go here and expect something special. Go to the bakery next door instead

Came here for small plates and a few drinks. Tried every dish on the night's menu (except for one veggie option as neither of us are vegetarian) and could not fault anything. Food was excellent, the server was so friendly and took time to explain the dishes, as well as their plans for the venue. Cocktails were exceptional, and have a very good selection of spirits, including a lot I've not seen elsewhere. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a great evening!
