Called in because spring cottage was closed! Ordered a cappuccino and bacon on toast Coffee like dishwater and burnt and bacon on toast was tasteless and I left most of it because I will eat something nice later instead…… Not even served nicely just on a plate uncut and so unappealing

I had my wedding at Rivington hall barn and it was absolutely amazing! Before I booked Rivington I had looked at over a dozen of wedding venues and Rivington was by far the most stunning and elegant venue I had seen, I fell in love instantly. Everything about Rivington is amazing! The venue, the food & most important the staff!! The staff at Rivington are so polite, friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a few dietary requirements with our meals and they catered for everyone whatever their needs were. They were always quick to reply with any queries and always made me feel reassured through the whole process leading up to the wedding and even on the wedding day which made the whole process less stressful and far more enjoyable. They went above and beyond for me, my husband and all our guest on our wedding day, they was so we’ll organised and provided the best services and we couldn’t have been more grateful for them and everything they did for us. All our guest were amazed with everything about it and also commented on how stunning the venue was, how amazing the food was and how amazing the staff was. We literally had the most magical day and memories we will cherish forever and a big part of that is because of Rivington and everyone that works there. I honestly couldn’t recommend Rivington enough, everything about it is amazing and you definitely won’t be disappointed if you booked them for your wedding venue.

This cafe is a nice stop off on our canal walks & is fine for the whole family. We took our granddaughter for lunch & even though they were short staffed, and very busy, the wait wasn’t unreasonable. Besides, I can think of worse places to spend my time. We had sandwiches which were lovely & fresh and toasties which were packed and also very tasty. Even with our drinks it was less than £20

Popped in for lunch, looked nice inside and reviews seemed good. Ordered a sausage and bacon roll and a 'artisan' ciabatta with tomato, cheese and pesto. A smoothie, a coffee and a bottle of water. The sausage and bacon sandwich came and it was on the smallest bun I have ever paid for when eating out. It had one sausage on it and the bacon was like mcdonalds bacon, very thin. It was also very wet and wrinkly underneath the sausage. The ciabatta came and was also on a tiny roll. This cost £9 so we were expecting something more substantial. It also only had cheese and tomato on it, with a few pieces of rocket. We asked if we could have the pesto on it as advertised, they said sure and took it back off us. They said they forgot to put it on. 5 minutes ish later the 'hot' sandwich was still sat on the side with nothing happening. I had finished my sausage and bacon sandwich by this point. I noticed a new customer had just come in and they took his order and started making his drink, this confused us as we thought they would be sorting our food out as a priority. Another few minutes passed and one of the staff members comes back in from outside, I noticed she was hiding a jar of pesto on her side. Guess they didn't forget about it and just thought we wouldn't notice. At this point we couldn't be bothered waiting any longer so we cancelled the ciabatta and paid the bill. They said they were 'just sorting it now'. Also the drinks weren't very impressive. The smoothie was full of mushy fruit pieces that weren't blended properly and the water was a costco Kirkland budget bottle worth a couple of pence. Pretty disappointing visit after getting high hopes.
