What an absolutely brilliant cafe. In the beautiful setting of Rivingron. The Breakfast is amazing and very reasonable in price. I can t believe anyone would rate the cafe lower than 4, noting it has won awards for how great it is. Any bad reviews are malicious.

Lovely place. Food is always really hot. Great value. Can be a little noisy at times with 'yappy' dogs, but totally expected for location. Scones are to die for! One of my favourite local places. Better to sit near the back so you don't feel the cold if the door is open.

Superb find. Was looking for a nice place to take my wife for afternoon tea as it was our anniversary. With a well deserved top rated place we chose the village tea room. First a lovely setting. I found out at the counter that afternoon tea should be booked in advance. With quality people serving they quickly agreed that they could make up a slight variation with the items that were available. Beautifully presented The HAM hock and pea soup was delicious and yes I shouted HAM as there was so much in. The variation was a very tasty pasty Again, full of meat and with great tasting gravy. The sandwiches were your usual compliment cheese, ham and tuna. Our scones were lovely and the cakes so sweet and delicious. Top marks all round

The Village Green Tea Room in Rivington is such a lovely spot! With plenty of tables and chairs both inside and outside, it's the perfect place to relax, especially on a sunny day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile, and the atmosphere has a warm, inviting feel. It's also dog-friendly, so there are always adorable pups around to pet. In the winter, you can cozy up by the real fire, adding to the charm. I love that they display beautiful artwork for sale by local artists, making every visit a bit of a gallery experience. The food is reasonably priced, and their homemade cheese and onion pie is absolutely delicious—one of my all-time favorites!

Went for breakfast on Sunday, with my family as we do everytime they visit. We have really enjoyed it in the past but the last couple of times it hasn't been great. This Sunday we were served undercooked bacon and eggs which was very disappointing. We are now looking for somewhere else to eat for our family breakfasts. Very sad about it as its set in a lovely area and in the past was wonderful and a real treat.

Four of us and our dog visited on Sunday 25th August. We had a variety of meals between us including a breakfast, toasties, sandwiches, soup & a sausage for our dog. We had to resist the tempting looking cakes, maybe on another day? All served hot, fresh and tasty by friendly staff who are under immense pressure as they are only a small team and the tea room was very busy. Very good value for money both in quality and quantity.

Very disappointing visit on Sunday. The "cooked" breakfast was awful, items either burnt or very undercooked. The tea room has been our go to place on our visits to the area for a couple of years now but recently there has been a decline in the quality of the food. We are really sad about this. It seems like they are more focused on quantity rather than quality. 😪

At my age I am not really a walker up Rivington Pike, I live 30 miles away, but after a recommendation from my cousin last week we went on a jollie and tried out the Tea Rooms today. We loved it, set in an old school house next to a very old chapel with graveyard. We both had the Full English, what great value and a pot of tea for two included. the staff on the till were so friendly to have a chat about the location and surrounding areas. Would we go again, why not, we loved it. My only slight opinion and I would not call it a negative, are the sausages just need a small upgrade, even if it means a slight price increase. If I could, I would give you 6 out of 5 stars.

This is a lovely cafe. Great food, quick service and very accommodating. As a wheelchair user it isn’t very often I am not made to feel like a nuisance but I truly felt like I wasn’t a bother for once. I will say though that if you’re a solo wheelchair user I wouldn’t recommend as there’s a big wobbly uphill path to get in and a big step to get around back. The toilets are also outdoor and there isn’t an accessible one. Very good place for a breakfast, we will be back!

Great value! Cheerful and warm with the real fires dotted about. Without any pretention whatsoever. Basic brunch/lunch cafe. It gets very busy at weekends, but tables can be reserved. It is dog friendly and very popular with dog walkers - if you don't like dogs, this probably isn't the best place for you! If you want fancier, Great House Barn down the road will suit you, but personally, I prefer it here and not spending a fortune. Neither have fantastic toilet facilities, but they do the job.

Called in for breakfast with a friend. Was fortunate to get a free table, as a number were reserved. They have this bizarre system where, fir instance, if a table is reserved from say 12.00 midday, no one can use it before then. This restricts the ability to get a table but also doesn't make good business sense.

So where to start we booked in for a 11am afternoon tea. Was confirmed by them. So we arrive around 10.45am let them know we are here by name they tell us we have a table. We sit down thinking they will come over. 15 mins nothing so we go to counter ask for our drinks with the afternoon tea. They have no idea what we talking about said they only do it from 12pm. So they say OK Won't be long. They came out with the food on our tiny table. We had 1 quarters of 3 sandwiches each. (Where did the last quarter go) 3 little triangles each. 2 scones 3 slices of cake. 2 small pasties cut into 3. Not enough for the price we paid. Looking around the place is dirty. The numbers on the table was covered in food. Table covers sticky and crockery seen better days. We paid 35.90 for 2 adults and a child. For not even a full sandwich each. Did call and pointed out we had been over charged was told a refund would be done in the evening never arrived. Won't use again better afternoon teas around for price..
