Aw me and my kids loved it here last week. The famous Wigan ice cream shop! Guys is was amazing! - I think this is a place to come with your kids just to chill and get an ice cream or dessert- this isn’t just any ice cream shop! This is outstanding - many flavours , not just your usual flavours either . Many options too choose from to be prepared for that “I don’t know what to get” I seen a girl eating a cheese toasty which looked VERY nice and presented on her plate . So they just don’t serve ice cream theirs many options of things to choose from when your here you could even come for dinner too! I will deffo be back does get busy though so be prepared for that we come at just the right time just after 1pm but got busy again when we just ordered

Visited here for a treat on our way home from a family day out. There was so much choice and something for everyone. The portion sizes are very good for what you pay so great value for money and there’s plenty toppings to choose from. You can even take big tubs of your favourite flavour home. It’s always busy so you may need to park a little way down the road and walk up if you’re driving.

If we`re every in the Chorley area, a visit to Fredericks is a MUST !!! ...... regardless of whether the climate is offering sunshine or snow !!! The ice cream is absolutely delicious and the range of flavours is astonishing - with everything from the best Vanilla I`ve ever tasted right through to Candyfloss and Cindertoffee !! Huge waffle cones with various toppings for the price of just a standard `99` elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit.

The ice cream range is good but the state of the toilets is disgusting. These clearly haven’t been cleaned for months with the build up of dirt ( this hasn’t happened on one day, before that excuse is used) , if we had been in there first no way would I have eaten there. Shocking and no excuse

Travelled a few miles for a sundae with the kids- wasn’t disappointed! The lad behind the counter was very patient with my picky eaters and very knowledgable about the products! I was asked to sign a waiver and to give my contact details before eating as I have allergies. I was told I need to give my contact details in case, this is an exact quote from the woman behind the counter, “you have a reaction and anything comes back on us”. I’m absolutely appalled at being treated like this and would implore anybody who suffers with allergies to avoid this place completely, as I also will do after walking out today. Nobody wants to sign away their legal rights and be told it’s their responsibility if they die after eating food prepared by someone else. I felt embarrassed and singled out and I was treated with disregard by staff. Having been hospitalised from an anaphylactic shock previously was a very upsetting experience.

Amazing range of ice cream (I had creme egg, haribo & my daughter - smarties, ferrero). Fab chose of cones, sauces etc too and can also buy other bits such as dessert sauce bottles (treated us to lime flavour) Plus cakes and similar goodies The staff are always lovely and allow you plenty of time to choose! Liked the signs outside which showed you ice creams & extra so you have the option to choose while in the queue Always looks very clean and well organised Social distancing was in place (2 people in shop at a time- & easy to read signs explaining this) and everyone was wearing masks The girl who served us was very polite, patient and friendly as was Nathan who helped us out with a payment problem. Highly recommended- the best Ice cream shop we’ve ever visited !

Went for an ice cream. Staff friendly. Ice cream good. People not social distancing in the queue. Once inside the tiny store, I counted 16 people (not including staff) and only 3 had masks on. I think there needs to be a limit to the number of people in the shop at once and a more proactive approach to asking people to wear a face covering.

Visited recently from recommendation of a friend. Was told to expect a queue so wasn’t put off when we saw one. Ice cream was absolutely spot on and perfect but the ignorance of the great British public marred the visit somewhat. In a queue of about 30 people, only a few of us put on face masks in the shop. People were coughing and sneezing, kids were running around others in the queue and quite a few were paying with loose change! Such a shame that people can’t do their bit, no wonder the numbers are rising again. Also, was a bit disappointed to see staff not wearing gloves esp when handling money, though we did witness them use the antibacterial hand gel in between serving so that something I guess.

Used to love coming here as a pit stop for our cycle rides. Called in this morning for sausage on toast and have to say it was the worst I’ve ever had. It consisted of one and a half sausages served on unbuttered toast. They did serve butter on the side but it was rock hard and unspreadable. Who wants to deconstruct their sandwich to have to put butter on. Never used to be this way and can only think they are cutting costs.

We moved to the area a few months ago & were really looking forward to a visit. We called on a Sunday evening & struggled to park within around 100 metres as there are only 3 or 4 spaces. I made the mistake of turning down next to the shop thinking there was parking behind but there isn’t, and it’s difficult to find a place to turn round. The staff were very friendly but sadly the ice cream flavours were fairly bland in comparison to other places we have visited. Between the three of us we had rum & raisin, mint choc chip, chocolate, vanilla & cappuccino, so we had a good selection. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype.

Absolutely disgusted and ashamed as to the way I was treated when visiting my favourite ice cream parlour for the best rum and raisin money can buy. I ordered a “two scoop” ice cream in a luxurious chocolate and peanut cone to be met with what I can only described as a monstrosity. I’ve heard of “double bagging” a supermarket plastic bag but double coning an ice cream? Because the cone I actually wanted was cracking? What a farce. I paid for my ice cream, sat down, pondered as to how I was going to eat this disgrace. After pondering for a few seconds more I went straight back to the counter to ask for it to be changed. The waitress then proceeded to tell me “sorry there’s nothing I can do” as this was “very luxurious ice cream”, I then began to kick up a small fuss. After such fuss the waitress then emptied my ice cream in to a tub, then in to another cone, and handed it me back, all melted and looking like an ice cream after it had been digested by the human body. Again I advised I was not happy to pay £4 for this and the service I was receiving and asked for a fresh ice cream, which I felt was the fairest option and should of been offered at the start. The waitress then decided it was time to involve a manager. A manger at which was not on site and could only be reached by an old fashioned telephone that took 20minutes to connect. After a short phone call she came back, ice cream still in hand looking like a dogs dinner, stated no refund and no fresh ice cream and offered me the ice cream in her hand. Of course this was refused and she then threw the ice cream in the bin. We was now in a predicament, no ice cream, and no refund which to me means I’ve paid for a product I have not had. As far as I’m aware this is against consumer rights which I informed the waitress on. Eventually after a very embarrassing 20mins stand off and being threatened by police intervention I was given my refund and asked to leave. absolutely shocking and I will never be returning.

This ice cream parlour is very popular with all because of the high quality of the many flavours of ice cream on offer. There is always a queue outside the parlour as patrons wait for their turn to be served. (Well worth waiting ) There is a seating area that is generally full so most patrons take their ice creams outside and to their cars. I will always call in when I'm passing after work and take some home to eat after dinner as a desert.

The girls serving were lovely. There were so many flavours i was spoilt for choice. I decided i was having the liquorice but couldn't see any so opted for amaretto, which was lovely, rum n raisin, very nice & vegan cherry, nice. Hubby had chocolate & raspberry ripple. He enjoyed his too. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. We walked as couldn't see anywhere to park. I loved all the old, nostalgic photo's on the wall. Hope they have liquorice flavour next time! :0)

Fantastic ice cream shop and been around for years. Always a great service with friendly staff and high quality ice cream. Also my partner is lactose intolerant and was perfectly fine.. not sure how but it’s always a bonus when we get into bed at night

Cheerful atmosphere for pizza and delicious ice cream. No wonder there is always a big queue outside Fredericks cafe and ice cream parlour. Just the ticket for a family treat any day of the week

There’s only one thing bad about this place and that’s the fact my belly isn’t big enough to eat more....

Only thing I would like to see is better opening times as I’d like to take the kids straight from school at 4pm and it’s always closed! Otherwise, this place does amazing food and it’s great to be able to take the kids for a nice healthy meal. Why do some restaurants think that kids want nuggets and burgers? My kids love this place and it suits them both as one eats meat and the other is a vegetarian.

I found this cafe while waiting to collect a car I bought from a dealership, so I was sitting in the cafe from 7am to 9:15am. The hot chocolate was gorgeous! I was going to order an omelette around 8am, but the place started getting a bit busy, so I held off. At 8:20am, I ordered a 4-egg omelette with cheese and left around £12 in change as a tip to thank them for letting me stay while waiting for the dealership to open at 9am. I was grateful to have found this cafe, as I also got some work done on my laptop. People were coming and going, and the staff even sat down for a chat, and I started wondering if they’d forgotten about me. At 8:55am, I asked if my order had been forgotten, and the girl apologized and realized she had indeed forgotten. The dealership was only a 5-minute walk away, but I was almost ready to leave without the food and the fact i paid £20 for a hot chocolate 😂. I eventually received the omelette, and they even returned the tip I’d left. The omelette was really nice, and the hot chocolate was devine. I can’t fault the food, even though I was forgotten and i am sure it was only a 2 egg ommlette instead of 4. I just needed to leave as i was late for collecting the car. Hence, I can’t give 5 stars for the service.

Was passing. Shop window looked so inviting. Had to check it out. Not disappointed. The meat and potatoe pie. The best. Along with the tiffin.
