I will not be wasting money and dining in this cafe again. I visited for the first time and the food was below average. I also encountered the renowned unprofessional and rude manager too and the way she speaks to her young teenage employees is most disturbing and inappropriate. This especially ruined my dining experience and it is very confusing how she is a cafe manager with such a grotesque attitude towards her staff. This café seriously needs to consider employing a new manager who knows how to be a good manager to staff and customers.

Never been here before so thought id give it a try, food was lovely can't fault it but staff on the other hand... Well i overheard a conversation of one of the supervisors not allowing a young member of staff a break, telling her she isnt entitled especially when her family had arranged to meet up with her and she was meant to be working 7 hours, i find this outrageous and disturbing.

They don't take cash so what's the point in operating a business this way

Good food but as an older person I was disappointed that only under 12's could have the small breakfast. The portion size of large breakfast far too much for me. Did enjoy sausage and egg sandwich

Went for breakfast. Delicious mushrooms, perfect egg, thick bacon and nice sausages. The toast needed more butter and the waitress was happy to bring us some. Lots of beans. Recommended.

Amazing food . Pizza Monday is a big win

First visit to Cappuccino Deli Bar, The Hub, Buckshaw Village. It was bustling with customers, every table occupied or reserved. Lots of menu choices and special offers. They also cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diets. There is a variety of hot and cold beverages including various wines. Half term offer this week, one child eats free with every adult who eats. Outdoor and indoor seating is available. My order was taken quickly and efficiently. It was also served quickly, was hot and fresh. I do think that a side salad would have added better value, however my vegan sausage wraps were tasty. I finished off with a Mars Bar cake, again fresh and tasty. Staff were professional and each had their own defined role. Given how busy they were, everything ran like clockwork. The atmosphere remained relaxed and well organised. I did observe that some revenue was being lost by the establishment reserving tables, which were standing empty for an hour or so beforehand. Better use could have been made of these tables, to improve profit margins. It is worth noting that recently the Cappuccino Bar has taken the decision not to accept cash. They now accept digital card payments only. This certainly did not affect their capacity for bums on seats today! (Please ensure you have the correct form of payment before going). Always best to pre plan and reserve a table where possible. The Hub itself has other facilities, therefore the Cappuccino Bar can be busy. There is a public car park to the rear and the building is supported by ramps for disabled access. It is a lovely venue, with both the bar and area being kept clean and tidy. Outdoors there is an ice cream shack, with various seasonal opening times . I recommend a stop off at The Cappuccino Deli Bar should the opportunity arise.

Highly recommend the smoothies! And the coffees are pretty good! The Salad box is definitely one of the best items but they’ve scrapped it from the weekend menu so I’m gutted. The rest of the menu uses relatively inexpensive ingredients and whilst some of the creations are pretty inventive (the veggie paninis are good) there aren’t any healthy items on the weekend menu that have appropriate amounts of vegetables & fibre unless it’s baked beans with a cooked breakfast. The eggs Benedict/Florentine are good; though the hollandaise sauce is a little synthetic.

Switched to cash, forgetting about the vulnerable who are unable to use a bank card. Won't be visiting again. Good luck!

Was looking for a place that did a decent gluten free breakfast. Lovely little cafe, the breakfast was great and got told i could swap things if i preferred. Real treat for a coeliac to get bread, hash brown and sausage eating out! Great atmosphere and customers also chatty and friendly.

The menu has changed and now there are no paninis or wraps and absolutely nothing gluten free anymore. Attended with family for usual lunch but as only pizzas and breakfast items now won’t be visiting again as there is nothing my daughter can eat.

An excellent community Hub food is awesome, I had a very nice clean breakfast which was very fresh and hot. Excellent staff, someone was always cleaning the tables. My order was taken very quickly and I was politely served. Car park at the rear. All in all a very nice place to visit 👍

We visit the hub on a weekly basis due to swimming lessons, so we stay for some food afterwards. All the staff from receptionist on the swim desk to the girls in the cafe, are all very friendly and polite. Definitely recommend booking especially at the weekend as it does tend to be busy. The food is always great and any problems that do occur are always felt with very quickly.

Been gluten free is very hard and I wish more restaurants/cafes which cater more or even put G/F on the menu so you don’t feel a pain keep asking. I always have a well don’t bacon on gluten-free bread and this is the best gluten free bread I’ve ever tasted and even those who don’t eat it must try it.. it’s amazing and staff are so friendly. What a little gem. Recommend the pizzas, might meaty sandwich, platter and fizz especially outside on a sunny day. Highly recommend 5 star all the way.

We love coming here for breakfast. Reasonable prices and quick friendly service. The staff are really good to both us and the dog (dog friendly in the covered bit outside) I love the veggie breakfast the veg finger/sausages are really good full of veg rather than fake meat. The poached eggs are excellent too 😊

First time I’ve been to the Hub for lunch and it definitely won’t be the last time. As always, the food was excellent, served quickly and hot. The service here is always excellent. I had the chicken Caesar panini with skin on chips. Probably the best panini I’ve ever had, it was delicious. Can’t wait to go again.

The Hub have a range of foods for all tastes. The quality is really good. I particularly like the meat sandwiches and the pizzas.

As a great big fat powerhouse I have eaten lots of sandwiches in my lifetime. However, mighty meaty sandwich here was quite possibly the greatest I have ever eaten. It was only the shame of appearing greedy which stopped me from ordering another immediately after finishing it. Great sandwich and great service. I’m ordering two next time.

Went here for lunch. It is a nice cafe and somewhere easy to go if you live on Buckshaw however it is nothing special. Most the staff are young lasses who are quite slow when serving. The menu is nice - we both ordered a sandwich and a side of fries. The bread and cakes didn’t taste like they were fresh for that day and they are really stingey on the salad - we got one piece of cucumber and maybe 3 pieces of lettuce and that’s it. So nice place to pop in for a small bite and a drink but don’t expect too much.

More staff than customers and what staff there are are ignorant and rude and just ignore customers. Service slow and food mediocre. Don’t bother! Far better places nearby with a warmer welcome.

Been coming here for about 9 months almost every week and always friendly service and very good quality food although not anymore. Visited last week and quality of food and service both awful. The lady who served me never spoke and quite clearly didn’t want to be working. The food was below average. Today I arrived and sat for 10 minutes without anyone coming over. The server clearly saw me but never came over so I left. I will not be returning which is a shame as I live local and regularly tell people how good the breakfasts are. Not anymore sadly

I have had two meals at the Hub: Staff The staff were very welcoming on both visits and were very smart. Cleanliness Hub was very clean and well kept. no areas of concern. Service In terms of service speed and delivery a little slow but no major concern, Breakfast Omelette was outstanding but never came with choice of sides within the price

Food is always good quality and can't fault it on that front but service is somewhat lacking, drinks forgotten and delays on getting drinks despite not being that busy. Service would benefit from improvements.

My brother and I tried the Cappuccino cafe which forms part of The Hub at Buckshaw Village after our previous plans for breakfast.Thank goodness for this happy accident as we were treated to a lovely breakfast.My brother had scrambled egg on toast which he said was well done and avoided the usual embellishments of too much greenery that you can sometimes get.I decided to try their cheese on toast which was fantastic - tangy cheese complimenting the artisan bread perfectly.The service staff were pleasant and attentive throughout our visit.With our breakfast coming in at just over £12, including drinks and a tip, this was well worth the money paid and I can happily recommend Cappuccino - especially as we need to support independent cafes who value good customer service ahead of the chain establishments.

Ideal place to chill out. Great choice of hot and cold, alcoholic and soft drinks. Good range of light snacks and meals. I had fish and chips and the fish was delicious, really well cooked. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Would definately recommend a visit.

Went out for impromptu breakfast. Asked for lightly set scrambled egg which was cooked to perfection. Also asked for vinegar. (I know it’s unorthodox but is delicious in my opinion). My husband had eggs royale which he said was super too. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Also reasonably priced. Will definitely be calling again. There is also a loyalty scheme.

Went for lunch today to try the new menu and wasn’t disappointed, fantastic choice on the menu. New pizza and burgers fabulous and not expensive. Definitely a place to visit, a little gem.

Cappuccino at The Hub - My Wife and I visited for lunch and it was really good. The staff are very friendly, the menu caters for a number of dietary requirements, the venue is excellent and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend and we will be returning!

The best place to get a drink while you watch swimming

Stopped for a coffee on a long ramble, decided to have a sandwich, thinking it would be better for my diet than the enormous slices of cake. Choose toasted foccacia, it was delicious, filled with roasted veg and mozzarella, plus a dressed salad and coleslaw. Honestly the best value lunch I've ever had. Staff were delightful too

I literally can’t believe how good this place is. Talk about the Rolls Royce of customer service and absolutely amazing value for money. I almost don’t want to write this review as I don’t want others to find the place and make it hard to get a table. The selection of food on offer is vast and it’s all fresh, well cooked and very very tasty. A couple of different owners have tried with this place and failed but the folks who have it now clearly know what they are doing. You’ll barely have to blink in the direction of a member of staff before your every need is taken care of. Also it’s very child friendly. After two Saturday mornings on the trot I think we’ll make this a regular thing.

Visited here a few times since it’s reopened and has new management. Would highly recommend it. The staff are lovely and so welcoming. Fish and chip Friday is fantastic, best I’ve tried in years. And the Sunday specials are delicious. They also do an amazing full English. I’m definitely becoming a regular customer.

What a hidden gem! I suffer with numerous allergies and avoid eating out because it can be really difficult to find somewhere to cater for me. The girls at the hub are just amazing! They’ve gone above and beyond to make sure I can enjoy a meal with my family, we went for breakfast today and it was delicious, the food is fresh and really tasty, they even had gluten free bread, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Well, what can I say. Me, my wife and my daughter have been here on a number of occasions recently, and have never left disappointed.The new deli menue and food are just fantastic. Everything we have had off it is of such good quality. I have had a vegi delight deli sandwich with mozzarella on olive Focaccia bread, and it was awesome. I have also had a mighty meaty one and a brie and bacon panini. The ingredients are so fresh and the food is made with care.We also came for the "Fish and chips Friday". They were fabulous. I would even go as far as to say they are possibly the nicest fish and chips I have ever had. I know this all sounds too good to be true and that I must be getting paid to say all this, but i am not and it's my own money I am willingly spending here. Since it reopened, it's only got better and has become a regular stop for coffee, cakes and meals when we are looking for a treat or dinner out.It does help being local, as we are only a walk away, but this only adds to the attraction. My wife and daughter love coming here. Its relaxed with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

We had gone right off this place after the last management but now, it's back to how it used to be only better - thanks to Pauline and all the staff, really friendly and professional, and safe - plus, breakfast was great! Will call definately be regulars from now on

It’s been a while since I last wrote a review about the Hub and I left it a while for a reason. I really wanted it to improve and for a while it seemed to be on the right track. However this morning proves to me that it still needs a lot of improvement. Buckle in this will be a long one. Firstly let me say the staff are always fantastic and friendly, this isn’t a review about them. This is about bad management. This morning was a prime example of how not to do it. The Breakfast times always seem to be different but today it changed right in front of my eyes. Starting off at serving until 12:30pm and changing to 12pm as my order was being taken. That didn’t effect me, just someone further down the queue. One member of our party wanted to order a toasty which was advertised on the menu as being served from 11:30am however I was told they don’t do toastie on a Sunday. Lighter breakfasts seems to have been taken of the menu, so I opted for a full with Poached egg. To be told that Poached eggs are no longer an option either. We ordered 5 breakfast in total 2 scrambled Egg on toast which looked fantastic and the other members of the party said tasted fantastic too. 2 bacon Barms and my full breakfast. The other 4 came and I had to wait what seemed like 5 mins for min, however I know time is relative when you are sat there waiting so could have been shorter than that. When it arrived with a smile and an apology for the delay ( like I said customer service was great) it looked awful. The amount on the plate looked less than a full breakfast used too, which wouldn’t have been a problem as I wanted a lighter breakfast anyway, but I still payed the higher price. What was worse was the amount of grease on the plate, everything was covered in the carbon scum that sticks to the bottom of a griddle or pan. It made me feel ill to look at it. There was no way I could eat it so I returned it, again there was an apology and it was taken back to the kitchen. A member of the team who I assumed was a manager or supervisor came over and explained that this is how it was cooked now. I’ll be honest, I’m not usually fussy about where I get my breakfast from. I’ve stopped at many greasy spoons or roadside vans and have never been served anything like what was on my plate today. I wish I’d taken a photo so that you didn’t think I was exaggerating. It was then that the two tables next to us also started complaining about their food also. I would never say this directly to a member of staff as I don’t want to seen as one of ‘those’ people, but I have worked in catering/hospitality since I was 18 years old that’s close to 27 years now (showing my age ) and my experience has been varied from working behind a bar, to pot washing and eventually managing Cafes, Restaurants, Corporate hospitality I know what good looks like this isn’t good and popular opinion seems to agree with me. We want the Hub to be a great place to go, it’s 2 mins walk away. We want to go in on a Sunday morning as a family and enjoy a good breakfast and chat. I don’t want to write these types of reviews, in fact I think this is only the second ‘improvement feedback’ review I’ve ever written. Something needs to change or I worry that a lack of business will eventually lead to it being closed. We don’t want that, we have already lost the Cowshed a couple of years ago and more recently Shanti lounge. Please look at your processes, your menu and maybe involve your community and ask what they want. Please fix this soon.

I used to come here regularly when I was in a class upstairs or swimming and always had a good experience, popped in to grab a takeaway Breakfast after dropping our little one at Nursery next door, the service was FANTASTIC! Lovely lady serving, very friendly and helpful which is rare in places these days, the Breakfast barms and hot drinks were great, I also like that the coffee has changed to a more locally sourced supplier, overall great experience this morning, very happy customer and will return again ;)

Yet another visit that needs mentioning....we regularly visit for lunch - the food has definitely got better & better. Had the special panini, which was way above average. Food came quick and was presented in an appetising way.....brill. Just not sure about staff standing around behind the counter tho....gossiping??Could not fault the food, and will definitely continue to visit.....based on the food.

Came in for grub after a trip to the park with friends and kids. Meals, brews and cakes came to £25; reasonable. Coffees and cake were good. Good environment for families even whilst it was busy. Staff mentioned there was a 20 min wait when we paid; fair enough, but an hour passed and it was more then most with 'hangry' kids could put up with.I witnessed only one dish served; a full English which was returned ASAP. Refunds all round were in full swing at this point. I mistakenly only asked for a refund for the absent food. We were given takeaway boxes believed to be our order on our way out, but they were a mix of both the wrong and worst food I've honestly ever had. Que photo of kids grease covered pizza. The rest was thrown to avoid any potential repurcussions it might have held.Staff explained their new chef wasn't up to scratch in a nutshell. The menu was simple, but I wouldn't trust him with more then a pot noodle. He did look panicked whilst briefly walking out the kitchen. Raises a question for the management to have let it happen. Felt sorry for the girls on the counter. They tried their best.I'd like to try it again when there is someone more reliable on board because reading reviews it sounds like it's usually quite nice. I'm up for contact should they disagree with my sentiment.

Often nip in forcbreakfast never disappointed. Hubby ordered larger breakfast I had the light breakfast . Freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The eating area very comfy and clean. Plus only us in as most people were Xmas shopping as it was Sunday before Xmas day.

Craig Jones head chef has just made me one of the best gluten free meals I've had. He modified the menu for me and even came out with it himself explaining that he hadn't been able to give me the crisps so he'd made it special for me. He'd drawn stars in BBQ sauce and made me pulled pork cheese onion and peppers with salad and coleslaw. It was delicious. My husband enjoyed his cheese and chutney sandwich too but for once he was jealous of me!lovely staff nice atmosphere good price and fantastic head chef!

We live in East Yorkshire but when visiting our daughter and her family, we pop in to The Hub for a bite to eat. Today’s roasted red pepper and tomato soup was to die for. The staff are so friendly and efficient.

As a regular visitor here, I’m never disappointed, the food is excellent and comes in decent portions and is always quickly after ordering and the coffees are always piping hot. The customer service is 10/10

been here a few times during summer holidays, and I must say quality of food gone up since change over, staff really friendly , I had quiche twice I must admit best I've tasted(no soggy bottoms here) can't wait to return, my granddaughter extremely fussy and she loved the food and the staff, thankyou everyone see you all soon

I have been coming here for 5 years twice a week with my two children before they go to school opposite the cafe. We are fortunate to visit when the place is quiet. 7-30 until 8-45 so it always felt like our place. Always sitting in the same place and familiar staff made it a home from home for me and the children. When staff changed we naturally worried. Would it be the same?Would my kids still enjoy the hour of a hot bacon sandwich before school with dad. Yes is the answer. It is the same building and great place to be. It has taken time to get used to the new faces. That is natural. They are as polite and attentive as the staff we missed and for that we (my children and I) are extremely grateful.Measure of good service is when staff talk to your children and make them feel welcome and remember what you like to order and check you are ok and happy. Things rarely stay the same for long but I am glad the Hub has retained the family feel we loveCosta and Starbucks may have absolute consistency the length and breadth of the country but friendly they are not. The Hub remains our first choice for the special hour before school twice a week and long May that continue.

Used to be our go to place for breakfast. However since Cath and the old crew left the service has gone down hill. Food good but service awful as everyone is new. You can wait a long time for food and sometimes you don’t get what you ordered.

We have been coming on a Sunday morning for sometime now and there have obviously been some changes recently.

Over past 4 weekends (3 Sundays, 1 Saturday) we have found ourselves in Buckshaw Village around mid morning and each time we have had breakfast at the Hub. Plenty of free parking (the barrier rises as you approach it and to exit you simply get a disc from the café. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and very obliging. The full breakfast gives a choice of fried, poached or scrambled eggs whereas the small breakfast is poached egg only - but both are delicious and great value for money.

Nice coffee, although it's next to a nursery and a school so the cafe and the car park get very busy early morning and after school.

Sometimes the Hub is great for a quiet place to have a snack but it's the first time we sat in side and it was full of mums and baby's so a little noisy but still very nice the food is always good and hot if your a mum it's the place for you

I live in Buckshaw Village and regularly visit the café either for a quick coffee or a bite to eat. It has good choices for all times of day and always has a specials board. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly with the prices being very reasonable for the portions you get. The children's choices are very good as well and the portions for them are a sensible size - not like some places you visit where you really need to buy 2 to get enough and an adult serving would be too much. I love this place and it gets very busy in the summer holidays!

Buckshaw village is a new development and the Hub is a number of little businesses all rolled into one but the main draw to the Hub has to be the cafe the food and drink are very good there is indoor and outdoor seating a great place to meet with friends
