This place is wonderful. We found it during a Google search and decided to risk it. I couldn't be more pleased with our decision. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. My son and I had the brunch bowl and my husband had the dhal. Then we each had a different vegan dessert. How often it is that you get a choice of vegan dessert? Often there's nothing at all. We visited at lunchtime and it was not busy. Don't miss this restaurant. It really is worth it.

Absolutely fantastic! High quality, well presented food and drinks which are reasonably priced. Brilliant atmosphere, with super friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Gluten-free customers also catered for (very well)! Also worth a mention is their wonderful selection of fresh cakes - always spoilt for choice when we drop by!

Unreal pints, even more unreal staff. A must visit if you are in the Newcastle area. Truly something spectacular, I’m doubtful I’ll ever see such a place while I’m still alive!

Visited here a couple of times for Brunch and it’s been lovely, highly recommend! So far we have tried the veggie breakfast, avo on toast, full English hash and corn fritters and they’ve all been wonderful. Such lovely service too and nicely decorated inside and out. Looking forward to making this our regular 😊

This is a hidden gem in the heart of Newcastle. The food is delicious and quickly served within a cosy atmosphere. I had the gimmari and pork japchae. Perfected!

Lovely girl at the front of it! Even if I was probably the first customer of the day, service was brilliant and quick! God the breakfast bagel and it’s absolutely unreal. Defo a new place to go for breakfast from now on, beats Greggs every time.

Booked The Empress Bar as one of the stops for our night out on a hen do. We originally booked for 90minutes with the intention to move on after that but we ended up staying as the service and atmosphere was brilliant. We were around 30 minutes late due to our previous booking running over and Empress Bar held our tables. They provided us with our own little private area which was brilliant for a large group as it meant we could all be together with being squished into a crowd. We were served by a lovely lady (I didn’t catch her name) but she had dark hair with blue streaks in - she was amazing! Made us feel very welcome and even located a phone that one of our party had lost! Honestly this bar was brilliant and would definitely go again when in Newcastle.

First discovered on Facebook and made a promise to myself that we’d visit the first opportunity we had. Voila!! Done that this morning on our way home to Lancashire and wasn’t disappointed. Menu is great- plenty of breakfast options- we both had a light breakfast which was substantial and just delicious- and proper thick toast. The accompanying coffee was lovely- strong just as we like. This pitstop breakfast set us up for our journey back home. We’ll definitely return next time we’re over that way- and maybe I’ll not forget the scones/cakes I’d promised myself I’d be bring back with me!!

When you walk into this store you really do appreciate how many different beers are brewed in the northeast region of England. There is an amazing selection of beers and there is nothing better than being able to enjoy a good local brew on a long train journey. Prices are varied but value for money especially considering the quality and range of beers sold. Also excellent for any last-minute Christmas shopping you need to do before boarding the train home!

Kirkharle church, St. Wilfrids, was where Capability Brown was Baptised. Once parked in the free car park adjacent to the courtyard, it is a short walk. Lovely location with period buildings once the outbuildings to a grand Country house. There are craft shops there but The Coffee House was why I visited. Clean, bright and looking onto a pretty garden area. An excellent all day breakfast menu was on offer along with a good range of other food. I had a coffee and a cheese and bacon scone. It was rather delicious as the crispy bacon was cooked fresh and put inside the cheese scone. The scone itself was one of the best I have ever had, moist and light and very cheesy. I will be back. Lovely friendly ladies and spotlessly clean.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to visit the pubs over in Gateshead, a fun bar we dropped by was Curleys Bar. This is a nice looking bar , pubby decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a really good bar to unwind in . We ordered a cider each ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My cider was really good, a crisp, sparkling, effervescent cider that certainly cut through the thirst on a hot afternoon, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality cider in such a vibrant area of Gateshead. We really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to Curleys Bar we had a great time. Curleys Bar is so easy to locate along High Street in Gateshead, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I cannot tell you just how good this place is. The atmosphere is great but the food is even better. Josh is an hilarious and well organised host and Lewis is also brilliant at his job. I think the owners/managers of Cafe Beam should be congratulated for what they do. Don't ever change.
