The best drinks menu, the best food menu, exactly what St Peter’s basin needs! And the people are so chatty and lovely!!! Great little spaces to sit down rain or shine too 🌞 The iced matcha is UNREAL and so happy that somewhere around here does it as it’s hard to find!! And the coffees are lush too. They make a proper effort with their drinks and how they look and taste!! We go nearly every week, can’t recommend enough!

Where to start, Absolutely lovely owners/staff, names unknown, this was our first visit, friendly, chatty and a good dose of humour... It's a great location right on the waterside, great choice of drinks and food, plenty of parking close by. Had salmon begal, and cheese toastie for little one, he was too keen to have his chocolate babycino to eat the toastie so we helped him out 😂 Coffee was great and made just the way we asked. Will certainly return.

Lovely place by the Tyne, perfect to sit down and enjoy the view of the river. The food is always good (the hot chocolate is really good) and the ambiance chill and friendly. It is mainly an outdoor venue which is dog friendly and a few seats in a little cabin. The places are limited so arrive early ;) There is a free city car park on top of the road and a walk that follow the Tyne.

Absolutely fabulous place in St Peter’s Basin. Great menu with lots of choices even for those with special dietary requirements. Good choice of coffees however they didn’t have decaf which was a shame. Lovely touch today as they were giving out chocolate bars for Easter. Our granddaughter also loves the little cabin where there’s lots of games. They have colouring sheets & a great little basket with toy fruit and vegetables. She had great fun playing with the cards. We also tried the cheese scones which were tasty as warmed with butter. Our son had a sausage sandwich which is cooked freshly on site. Lovely place, great views up & down the river and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

La Verne Vintage is a super café, place to rest, and meeting place. The staff are friendly welcoming and the food and drink are really excellent. The shack is beautifully decorated and it's a great place to spot the resident wildlife from. 5 stars and more!!!!! A must stop place on any day of the week.

First visit here. We loved it can't wait to return

It Is a lovely place if you love coffee and delicious food. I highly recommend the Pistacchio mocha and the cheese and sausage bagel 🥯 🥯 Great place looking over the river Tyne. Sun trap. It looks like being on holiday especially having also a iced cloudy lemonade. The staff makes feel welcoming and have a good chat.

Walking the dogs today we discovered this place right on the Riverside, the food is great and affordable! Being tucked away on the Riverside it has a really nice rustic feel the service is great and I think its a great spot for walkers, dog walkers, cyclists and bikers! The food is simple and tasty, plus they accommodate allergies and if you just want a bacon butty they'll knock you one up! I think this is one of those secret places you don't want to share but, it's too good not to! Loved it!

Our favourite stop and the best coffee on the Riverside. Amazing and welcoming hosts always, we are so lucky to have La Verne Vintage on our doorstep. Wishing Paige, Mark and Sue continued success and highly recommend this place to all,you will not be disappointed.

This is the best outdoor cafe (with indoor seating) we stumbled across it and have since bought a puppy and we frequent the Cabin as often as we can. I recommend this little business to everyone. Go try it you won't be disappointed...we love it.

What a lovely little cafe right on the Tyne. Staff were amazing as were the drinks. They've also got a good food menu which we will be trying out next time. Limited indoor seating but glorious views outside if the weather is good

Love, love, love this cute cafe. The staff are so accommodating and just can't do enough for you. The food is fresh and tasty, and the location on the river by St Peter's Marina is stunning. I've actually resisted leaving a rave review for ages, coz I don't want people to find this hidden gem, 😉 but the owners and staff deserve praise for this fab li'l place.

Never got served. I had walked the hadrian's wall path, and this was the longest I stood still. The staff were not attentive at all. Bloody disgrace! Edit. I could see that you were making drinks. I appreciate that. What frustrated me more was that you never even acknowledged my mere presence. As for 'storming off', now that wasn't the case at all. I'd just walked 84 miles and was in a bad state. I wouldn't have been able to 'storm off' even if I wanted to. Take care ☺️

Genuinely my happy place. Canniest people you'll meet, so genuine and kind, and the best scran around no question. Plus Mocha the dog is absolutely lush get yourselves down there!

Me and a couple girls from work popped out to get lunch here and the service was great, everyone was lovely and my food was lush. Nice midday treat to cheer us up & we'll be back :-)

Wonderful views of the river. Friendly staff and decent food too. Is mainly outdoors. Right next to the Marina too, which is interesting. Good choices vegan and veggie. Great for a sunny day.

Tranquil picturesque location, friendly service with a range of very nice home made products and produce. Great al fresco cafe nb the all weather facility is homely but only limited capacity - hence opening times can be responsive😉 check ahead.

This place is absolutely canny. The atmosphere created around the wooden coffee cart near the river Tyne is cozy and like a remote oasis away from the rest of the world. The staff is kind and welcoming and make really drinks. You can easily fill your stomach with delicious food too as their assortment is wide ranging from light bites to bigger bagels. Are you vegan? No problem, they have just the thing for you too. Another noticeable thing is how the staff seems to know every local here which is a really good sign. It's without a doubt a loved place by the people who frequent it. On top of that it's pet friendly and their pet, Mocha the coffee dog, is adorable as well. See him on Instagram under the same name. This place is for everyone, and you can feel that from the first moment you get there.

Great coffee and great views of the Tyne. Not your usual view of the bridges but of a lesser seen area of the Tyne. It’s well worth a visit to this unique coffee shop and to take a peek around St Peter’s basin

This coffee stop was our last stop on our 8 day walk across Hadrian's wall, Myself, my husband and our two 13 year old grandchildren, we were for obvious reasons tired and hungry. The food we had was truly amazing it was real and fresh. On our walk we ate at many eateries and some of the slop that was dished up was best not remembered. But this super little place was fantastic the young couple working there were so friendly and clearly enjoyed serving up the delicious food. My family live in Durham and we will definitely take them there.
