Chicken gyros with halloumi is very flavoursome and tasty. One of the best I've had. The portion is just the right size and the price very reasonable. Quick service with a smile and even the dog got a tasty treat. We will definitely return when next in the area. Highly recommend!!!

Not sure where to start, but one thing is for sure, there isnât a single negative in this review. Home Restaurant, itâs exactly what the name suggests - Home. Itâs home because when you walk in you will be made to feel at home. Friendly, welcoming and a huge smile greets you. Around 20ish tables, lovely decor and lighting, views of the kitchen and bar and small but very tempting and amazing menu with a choice for everyone. The knowledge of the food is beyond what I have experienced anywhere else. This included where, when and how sourced. Also any ingredient used in cooking and prepping the dishes. This was only my second visit and honestly I left the first time saying the exact same as I am now repeating. Absolutely outstanding in every category and manner. My advice is listen to the ownerâs recommendations and let her husband in the kitchen wow you with his skills. I have been to Michelin star restaurants that having nothing on Home, if you get the chance to eat at Home in Dumfries, my advice is seize it with both hands. And if you have a spare seat going let me come too ! Home was reviewed by a very well know food critic and she rated it as a hidden treasure (my words but she absolutely loved it), I believe ârefreshingly perfectâ were actually Grace Dents words. She wasnât wrong and a full 5 stars from me. James is the best chef within at least a hundred miles for sure.

We ate here for my wife's birthday, oh what a fantastic choice. It is BYOB which is a nice change , the food was absolutely fantastic. The owner is so nice and helpful . He has as well as the restaurant a selection of deli products on sale for you to take away and try to replicate the dishes on the menu, a must in my view.

Incredible coffees, cakes and hot meals made with fresh quality ingredients and care. Perfect spot to drink a coffee with a book. The coffees here are as good as in Italy! Breakfasts and main dishes are tasty and provide good value for money with their large portion sizes. My fave brunch spot in Glasgow! I have been coming for years, had the pasta for the first time and that was also delicious!

We had carefully planned out every meal for our trip, then we got behind schedule and needed something fast! Found this gem through a google search. The nicest guys were working the food truck, and the food was spectacular!!!! Arguably our favorite meal of the trip.

I took a friend who I owed a lunch to & as I drove through New Cumnock he spotted a cafe open. It was a delight to find this lovely cafe selling Greek food. We had coffee, traditional Greek pie(homemade) followed by baklava & a cinnemon iced bun. We chatted to the owner who had moved here from Athens to be cloe to his Mother in Glasgow. The coffee was so good we had a second cup. On paying the price was reasonable at ÂŁ22.80 for two. We have already recommemded to friends & neighbours & will return. Open 7am until 4pm.

Went for an impromptu lunch today at the festival village and stopped by the Feta Stall. Ruby behind the counter was exceptional at helping us through the choices and recommending sauces etc. We had two mixed gyros with a side of honey bites and we couldnât fault them truely perfect comfort food and reasonably priced. Chill environment and lovely staff would throughly recommend and will be back ! :)

Tony and his cousin are such kind generous hosts. The coffee blend is perfect. Cappuccino and lattes are so tasty and refreshing. The home baking is phenomenal. I'd say the scones are the best in Scotland. The lunch panini and sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. The attention to detail for service is exceptional. Plum crumble cake, pineapple cake, brownies and the savoury cakes are delicious. It's not well sign posted but its next door to Coop Funeral home and across from the Butchers.

I love that Edinburgh now has take-away that doesn't involve food saturated in grease. The cauliflower Mac and cheese is delicious as are the prawns. My partner had the pork belly and dauphinoise potatoes, said he couldn't fault it! Thanks back burner!

Regretably, this wonderful restaurant has now closed as the owners retired. Very best to them for a lovely retirement after many years of fabulous food and unbeatable hosting. Bon chance!

Best pizzas we've had in a long time. Freshly made, tasty and the thin crispy bases were delicious. Lovely, friendly owners. Will be back soon.
