The best restaurants serving Italian food in Lowlands

authentic Italian restaurant with lots of charm & traditional vibes. The early bird 2 course menu is excellent value for money at £13.50 pp with all the classic dishes on. We opted for the regular menu, i had the calamari fritters & sea bass with mushroom ravioli ( was lobster on menu but they had run out). The fish was cooked to perfection & the ravioli was amazing in the red pepper sauce. My partner had panzenolle ( probably spelt that wrong but it was pieces of pizza dough with a garlic mayo dip ) & steak diane. He said the steak was one of the best he had, very tender. The restaurant was full, which apparently it is mostly, good atmosphere & lots of attentive staff. very good👍

The Hitching Post is everything you’d want in a classic American diner! The food is delicious, with generous portions and all the comfort food favorites done right. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, perfect for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend stopping by—you won’t be disappointed!

Fabulous place for a relaxed lunch. An authentic family run restaurant adhering to very high standards. Superb and authentic Italian food, fabulous service and a warm convivial atmosphere. If you are in the Scottish Borders, very highly recommended.

Our hotel said there was no need today book for supper in dining room but we found it full so looked elsewhere and found this. Excellent pizza and salad after several days of pub food.

Excellent as ever. Highly recommended place to eat in the lovely village of Moniaive. Great selection of Italian food from an extensive menu. All food is freshly cooked.

Visited here Monday 23rd of September 2024. 6 of us had a brilliant meal and the staff are to be commended. Best pizza in a while. Hidden gem. Can’t wait to go back

No kids menu but they split the adult pizza for our boys to share. Pizzas and garlic bread were absolutely amazing, just perfect. Pasta great too. Tirimasu a little dry but other desserts lovely. Very friendly staff. Would go back.

Un agradable café dentro de la excelente Galería de Arte que es The Lightbox. La selección del menú es un poco limitada, pero las pizzas y la pasta son excelentes y buena relación calidad-precio. Asientos bastante cómodos y un buen ambiente. En general, precios medios. El servicio es amigable y normalmente muy bueno, pero estirado cuando está muy ocupado... los clientes han sabido entonces ayudar con las mesas de compensación.

Good choice on the menu and specials, and the wine list was comprehensive. Service was great, very attentive, and plenty of staff. Food came in good time.

What a gem. One of the best pizzas I’ve had served straight from a wood fired stone pizza oven. Service was excellent. Pricing very reasonable. Situated in the beautiful parkland down by the river a short walk out of the town centre. Will definitely be back.

Lovely setting, staff and food. But it's just too pricey, which is possibly the reason why we were the only customers and were outnumbered by the staff - always an uncomfortable feeling. We only wanted a snack, and paid £9 for soup and £7 for a slice of cake. Such a shame, because it'll stop us going again.

Ordered a sausage and egg roll. One sausage cut in half and flattened. Seen thicker bacon won't be back................

Ordered a munch for my family. The kebabs and pizzas are delicious. They now do desserts and milkshakes happy kids happy me

Ordered online for delivery at 20:30, my order was accepted and money was taking out my account. Got a text 10 minutes before they closed telling me my order was cancelled with no reason why and I’ve tried to call the restaurant 4 times and it goes straight to answer machine. Not very good now I’m limited what I can order at this time elsewhere.

Have been ordering from them for a few months now, there service has got worse and worse! Overcharging when ordering over the phone with them, forgetting items and then charging to then bring them out and overall a bad customer service experience with ak desserts… so disappointing won’t be ordering from there again.
