The best restaurants serving Italian food in Cotswold South West

Alfonso Gelateria was the finest gelato that I’ve ever tasted! My husband and I had just come from traveling through Italy and never found authentic gelato like we found in the heart of the Cotswolds at Alphonso’s. I had read a lot about gelato and what makes it authentic, how it is to be stored to retain the best flavors and texture and the ingredients that go into it. Alfonso’s was excellent and every category. I rarely eat any desserts, but this was worth having an every way! Thank you for doing your gelato in a traditional and pure way. You will really be missing out if you don’t stop by this gelateria in Stow in the Wold!!!!

This is by far the greatest Italian restaurant I have ever dined at! The food is phenomenal every. single. time. They never miss! Have tried a variety of red wines and all have been exquisite! The staff are so friendly and personable - always dine at my favourite table (prepared for me prior of course), a purely kind bunch and would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anybody. Thank you for a great experience every time guys!

We were 4 of us having booked for diner at Da Luigi Bistro. When we arrived it was already packed and our table was still occupied by previous guests. The staff couldn't be more apologetic and the owner offered drinks on the house despite us really waiting no more than 10minutes. Once seated we had a fantastic meal from starters to desserts (the seafood risotto and the rum Baba were to die for!). We were offered some limoncello at the end of the meal as were all the other diners. The whole staff has to be commended for their warm, personable and efficient service too. Highly recommended!

Staying in Cirencester and went out for wedding anniversary meal because had vegetarian pasta menu, and good reviews, but very disappointed -tasteless, could have done better at home.

My Birthday Surprise. 14 family members from 7 to me at 70. Food was fantastic I had the Salmon Mediterraneo, the Steak was Lush I am told and the Pasta was pretty good as well, the children of course thrilled to have Pizza and chips. The staff were amazing and attended at a pace that left us all time to relax and enjoy the evening. Would highly recommend

A lovely spot for anyone craving authentic Italian food. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a great variety of classic Italian dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. The pasta is delicious and cooked to perfection, while the pizza has a crispy crust and great toppings. The wine selection is also impressive, with several Italian options to choose from. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a nice meal, “Casa la Cucina Italiana” is a wonderful choice. So disappointed. Booked online to have an enjoyable lunch before our long journey home. Arrived to be told the system shouldn’t have allowed it and they wouldn’t honour our booking. A courtesy email or phone call would have been the minimum expected. Hungry with 2 starving kids in tow trying to find somewhere to eat.

Fantastic service by ‘Lucy’ a solo waitress , I kept thinking another member of staff would appear as restaurant was quite busy, she handled everything impeccably and with a smile, truly excellent customer service, she should be awarded the 5 gold stars. Only breaded chicken as a chicken dish would have loved a choice.
