Colosseo Ristorante Fairfard in Cotswold

My Birthday Surprise. 14 family members from 7 to me at 70. Food was fantastic I had the Salmon Mediterraneo, the Steak was Lush I am told and the Pasta was pretty good as well, the children of course thrilled to have Pizza and chips. The staff were amazing and attended at a pace that left us all time to relax and enjoy the evening. Would highly recommend

After reading the reviews on Google we were really excited to book this restaurant for my mum’s 60th birthday, unfortunately it must have been an off night for the chef as the meal was a massive let down. The positives were the muscles and the pizzas were great but the meatballs were extremely over cooked to the point they weren’t edible and the pasta dishes lacked any flavour whatsoever. The service was ok but this certainly isn’t a place I would be rushing back to try again. AVOID

Arrived without a reservation, but they shuffled a few things around and found us a table in a good position. Excellent, efficient and friendly service, good menu options at reasonable prices. Two big groups had followed us in, but the staff are well organised and once we had ordered, the food arrived promptly and was very enjoyable. Would go back again but for the fact that it's a long way from home.

Booked a reservation on the 4th August for our wedding anniversary on 1st September. The booking was confirmed. Received a phone call at 18.15 today, 24th August, telling me they were closed on the date of my reservation. No explanation. No apology. NO SERVICE. Terrible.

Food was fantastic! The scallops to start were excellent, my husband used to be a chef so he is extremely fussy 😂 Couldn’t fault anything from attentive service to the wonderful flavours in the dishes. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

After reading the reviews our expectations were high. Unfortunately after the starters we were disappointed in the lasagna and garlic bread they both had a sweet taste to them. This spoilt our enjoyment and we left a substantial amount. This may be due to the recipe the restaurant use but it was not to our taste. Such a shame

Visited here last night as we were staying opposite, good choice as the food was excellent, our young friendly waitress came over and took our order, brucetta and calamari for starters and seafood linguine and a first in an Italian for me, of duck and porcini mushroom linguini, all where excellent all washed down with a very good bottle merlot, pudding ordered of cheesecake and creme brulee, which again whee delicious, my wife said the creme brulee was the nicest she'd had. So fantastic food and excellent service and very good value for money, what's not to like, highly recommended you try here if your around Fairford.

This was perfect for a family dinner on our holiday in the Cotswolds. Our waiter Joyce was a delight and made a real effort with our toddler, which is always appreciated. The food was excellent and served quickly. I particularly liked to mushroom gnocchi. If we're ever back in the area, I would certainly go again.

Dropping in on the spur of the moment we found very friendly staff providing immaculate service and coping without blinking with my wife being dairy-free. . The food was excellent including the best risotto marinara I have ever eaten, followed by a top-notch tiramisu. Hope to go back soon!

Had a lovely 3 course meal in a standout restaurant. Service from start to finish was excellent with us being made to feel warmly welcomed by Joyce. They were so friendly and looked after us all evening. We were there for hours, time flew by and they were never looking to get rid of us. They gave us a complimentary appetiser which was very welcoming indeed. We loved the pizza and spaghetti. Even the coke was nice as it was dispensed.

This restaurant changed ownership during lockdown and as such we didn’t know what to expect but chose it for my sons birthday meal partly because we like to spend money locally and partly because it is walkeable. It proved to be a good choice. The decor has had a slight revamp and it still has that nice ambience and occasional sense of bustle that all good restaurants need and maybe Italian restaurants need more than most. The food was superb. The menu isn’t the biggest but I have always been of the view that it is a better to do a few things really well rather than lots that are average. The service was also spot on, attentive without being over so, polite without being over the top. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a family meal or for couples. It’s actually a little gem in Fairford. The owner coming to show my youngest son two tricks ( that had to be translated by a waiter from Italian to English ) was funny and a nice touch. You can always tell when someone’s desire to give a good service is genuine.

We have eaten at Colosseo many times but they pulled out all the stops to help us with my daughters wedding reception just over a week ago. I can’t thank Zeus, Giuseppe and team enough for accommodating us and yet again providing exceptional food and service. It took a lot of planning to ensure we were all safe but it worked like a dream! Thank you again

I am left bamboozled by the rave reviews of this restaurant. Staff were friendly, however the restaurant lacks cosiness which is made worse by the blue hue of the ceiling lights... As for the food, it was edible, however I have had better from my old school canteen.

The pizza is done to perfection nowhere else but at the Colosseo Italian Restaurant..!!! Carpaccio Pizza will make your mouth water..!!

This place looks like a classic old fashioned Italian from the 70’s but once inside this is absolutely beautiful and very modern. Excellent choices both with meals and wine. Reasonably priced, very well presented and served. I would highly recommend

My husband and I visited this restaurant for our 40th wedding anniversary, 20/9/2020, and we’re so glad we chose this restaurant. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was piping hot and completely delicious. I would recommend this to anyone.

Despite the limitations of our SatNav in getting us to Fairford from Bibury we had a lovely evening at Colosseo. Everyone there was really friendly and welcoming and there is a a nice ambience about the place. The food and service were really good as was the glass of house wine we each had (driving!). We would definitely return and recommend Colosseo to anyone in the are looking for a good restaurant.

Found this restaurant on trip advisor. What can I say? This has got to be the best Italian we have ever been to. We are from Manchester and eat out a lot. Restaurant was so clean, tables spaced out and the staff were just so lovely and courteous. I had the seafood linguine which was just delightful. The calamari for starters was exquisite and the garlic bread with tomato sauce and basil was to die for, so light I could have eaten it all night. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you picked this up and put in Manchester it would give the other Italians a run for their money! Thank you for such a lovely evening for our first time here.

We were on a few days holiday staying in Fairford. Had dinner here two evenings running- we were so impressed with the food on the first evening that we had to go again. Our starters of whitebait and pan fried squid were superb. Portions were generous too. I had veal both evenings and both dishes were very good. The seafood linguine had a generous amount of seafood in it.The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very helpful when I queried them about a dish.All in all an excellent food experience

Wonderful food served by friendly attentive staff. We found this restaurant by reviews on trip advisor and we totally agree with the reviewers. I was a little disappointed that the carbonara was an English version and not the traditional Italian version so I settled for lasagna, which was amazing. My husband and I shared the mushrooms in Gorgonzola- fantastic, you need a little warm bread served with it so you don’t waste any of the wonderful sauce. My husband had the king prawns and scallops which he thoroughly enjoyed, washed down with a bottle of Gavi. The only real disappointment was the lack of a good quality Italian ice cream, a very basic vanilla, chocolate and strawberry was on offer whereas a nice scope of Italian ice cream would have finished off a superb meal- we were staying at The Bull Hotel so only a very short walk home. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back again.
