Amore Mio in Cotswold

This is by far the greatest Italian restaurant I have ever dined at! The food is phenomenal every. single. time. They never miss! Have tried a variety of red wines and all have been exquisite! The staff are so friendly and personable - always dine at my favourite table (prepared for me prior of course), a purely kind bunch and would recommend this restaurant to absolutely anybody. Thank you for a great experience every time guys!

To start the staff are very friendly and the restaurant has a great ambiance. The service is fantastic from the minute you walk in through the door. The food was delicious, we were a large group and no one had anything bad to say regarding the food. The only thing I wish was the portion size was slightly larger only because their food is so delicious. A must visit, keep up the good work.

What an absolute disaster of a dining experience. First off, the food was mid at best—completely uninspired, bland, and tasteless. It felt like it was slapped together without any care or effort. For the outrageous prices they charge, I expected something at least halfway decent, but no—this was highway robbery disguised as a restaurant. You’d be better off eating a gas station sandwich than wasting your money here. The service was just as bad, if not worse. The waiters were rude, dismissive, and downright unpleasant. It was as if they went out of their way to make the experience miserable. When we asked simple questions about the menu, they acted like we were inconveniencing them. And don’t even get me started on the attitude—they served up more sass than food. The atmosphere didn’t help either. The place was loud, cramped, and poorly lit, making it feel more like a sad cafeteria than a proper dining establishment. Not to mention, the wait time for our meal was absurdly long. For food that tasted like it came out of a microwave, I can’t fathom why it took so long to arrive. By the time I left, I felt completely ripped off and annoyed. This place is an overpriced joke, and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs—you’ll thank me later.

Awful Experience – Discrimination Against Families! I am absolutely appalled by the treatment we received at Amore Mio. My family and I arrived excited for a lovely dinner, only to be told that children are not allowed after 6pm. What kind of establishment bans families in such a blatant and discriminatory way? This is supposed to be a welcoming place, but instead, we were made to feel like second-class citizens. It’s 2024—excluding children is not just outdated, it’s downright rude. Restaurants should be about bringing people together, not driving them away with such ridiculous policies. There was no clear signage or information about this rule on their website, and we were left standing awkwardly while staff refused to accommodate us. Their attitude was cold and dismissive, and it was clear they had no interest in even trying to offer an alternative solution. If you value inclusivity, kindness, or basic decency, avoid this place at all costs. They clearly don’t care about families or creating a positive dining experience for everyone. Zero stars if I could.

Service charge added to the bill without telling you - you have to ask them to remove it from the total if you don’t want to pay the extra 10%. That’s unethical. Other than that, the food was fantastic.

As we were such a large group we were requested to pre-order. The communication with them was easy despite several changes to the booking. On the day the service was excellent and the food was spot on. Thank you to all the staff working today ☺️

It was a quiet Tuesday night, but the welcome and the food were great as always. Amore Mio serve fantastic innovative and flavoursome food. Service is attentive without being overbearing. It is our first choice for Italian food and especially pizzas in Cirencester.

This is by far the BEST Italian restaurant my partner and I have ever been to, and we have been to quite a few! Lovely atmosphere, incredible service, super friendly and welcoming, they even hung our coats upon arrival. The menu has an incredible selection - I highly recommend the Camembert! The lasagne was also amazing. It was my birthday and they sang happy birthday, everyone in the restaurant joined in and it made me feel really special. Overall really welcoming and lovely experience, can’t reccomend enough. Gets 5 starts from me, will defo be returning! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A five star restaurant I booked dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday and it was a very enjoyable evening. The staff are courteous, professional and friendly, the food is well presented, fresh and tasty, the service was excellent and the general atmosphere made our evening very enjoyable. Located in the heart of Cirencester, free parking in the evening is available literally next to the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and I want to thank the staff for looking after us so well

Felt like they wanted to close the restaurant eventhough it was written that they close an hour and half after we arrived. Food was good.

Had a great meal here. Service was faultless. A few revues have mentioned cost. £20 for pizza may seem strong, but quality was ace and I’m guessing rent in Cirencester is not cheap! No point being the cheapest bust restaurant in town! What was bonkers though was £7 odd for literally 1-tomato sliced on a plate with 4-rings of onion (tomato and onion salad?!). That was a step too far. My fault for not raising it with the staff while there. All in all though, a nice evening and we will return - we’ll just skip that ‘salad’!

Friendly staff and amazing food! This restaurant is a must go! We had amore mio special and meat feast pizzas, delicious! The chocolate lava cake is not to miss. Definitely recommend it!

It was good, fell short of great. It was an evening meal from 7 pm. Good things: - food was good, not exceptional - service was fairly prompt, and our experience was polite enough, although we did overhear a waiter greet arriving guests with 'you didn't pay the deposit', which I think was pretty rude. - Complimentary crisps, although these should be olives given its an Italian. Not so good: - a fairly small restaurant inside with too many tables, with poor acoustics it was fairly loud with everyone chatting away. - the house wine didn't even come from a bottle which was a surprise given its price point. - some customers made to sit outside with zero atmosphere, it was a little chilly and no heaters are set up, id have walked away if I was told to sit outside. - quick enough to add high charges for things like extra cheese, etc, but didn't offer any savings to remove cheese from the meal, I find this hypocritical. - 10% added service charge is a bit of a joke in the UK, if this is compulsory, then just add it to the price of the food and drink. Overall, this isn't a cheap restaurant, and for the price point, you'd expect more and better. Reduce the prices by at least 25%, and you'd be getting what you paid for, just about. Or reduce the dining capacity and provide a better dining experience for this price point, you can't have it both ways.

Superb food and brilliant service. We had a lovely dinner here for our wedding anniversary this week. We ate risotto and pizza (also starters and dessert), all delicious. The staff here really do care, and the result is very happy diners.

The pizza was objectively good, cooked and seasoned well. Good service and nice atmosphere. A fairly Italian and varied menu. The only flaw is the price... decidedly high. 2 pizzas, water and a garlic bread, more than £60 seems excessive to me..

Spot on! Didn’t even need to put extra black pepper or Parmesan on my pasta. Each of us thought our meal was delicious. 2 pizzas, 2 pastas. No faults. Great service. Have been before. Will go again.

We have been a few times and we have always had a great meal and excellent service. The quality of the food is excellent and I’ve have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. I like the fact that it isn’t part of a chain. You do need to book to avoid disappointment.

Probably, the British like this, they give the average customer what they like in a clean simple seemingly affordable way. On Tripadvisor it seems the best Italian resto in Cirencester, even the best resto overall. And it shall be said that my veg family liked their veg starter and pizza and pasta ok. But. Our explicit interest in trying one of the nebbiolo bottles from the broad range of wines made the waiter bring on the "expert" wine waiter, who after a strange discussion talked us into an interesting Italian appasionato Zinfandel. Hmm. Big disappointment when the beef came on. Quite normal in UK. Little interest or knowledge in wines, wine glasses, or pairing. Anyway: I had the minced crab. Lost the original fresh salty crab taste, and little taste added. Big and boring . Next: The manzo beef. Correctly medium rare, but thin and rubbery. 30 GBP. 5 GBP to have tge strange white peppercorn sauce. 7 GBP to have potatoes. Resto doesn't allow children to enter after 6 pm, that's ok, but the sound level is still annoying due to a small nakedly walled and roofed room, and flowers are artificial, making it far from the cosy Italian you had hoped for. Opens late, closes early, allows you 1 h40min at the table. Nope. Lots to improve here in my view. Better more genuine cheaper rougher Italian restos just out on the street nearby.

The cleanliness is impressive. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is delicious. Highly recommended. We will definitely return the next time we visit Cirencester.

What a lovely restaurant! We booked a table for 7 at 1400, one of the party were running late but this was no problem. The food was great, the staff were fantastic and even though we stayed a little long, we never felt the staff were rushing us to finish. Can definitely recommend this place, the risotto and pizzas were very good and prices were reasonable. I recommend anyone go to this place if they want good italian food. If you've never tried it, please do, you won't be disappointed! 10 out of 10!

Food is great and delicious! Until the end … the staff suddenly say that we need to leave the table in 4 mins (7:26) due to a reservation set on 7:30 … with no prior notice. We have to rush through our dessert and finish it in 4 mins ….. and one of the staff stood in front of the table rushing us to leave with a cloth on his hand …. So awkward and they embarrassed the customer … not considering others feeling … It was so nice at the beginning…

Wow! Transported to Italy. 🍝 We were really lucky to walk-in and be seated with a warm welcome on a busy Sunday evening. We had bruschetta to share as a starter which was tasty and fresh. For main we had spaghetti carbonara and chorizo penne, both divine. Tiramisu and pistachio cannoli for dessert - delicious! Overall a lovely experience, the team were really friendly too. Thanks again!
