Very good food with a much more varied menu than your average Indian restaurant. The service was also very good and friendly. We were very happy.

Delicious food and pleasant staff, also you can ring for a takeaway, which is just as good as a sit down meal. Best to reserve a table.

My family and I arrived at the Ali Raj with high expectations from our previous experiences. However, I did not expect something so great. This occasion was more significant than usual due to it being a celebratory meal as the day before was my birthday. Whilst trying to think of activities to do for this day, going to this restaurant was the first thing to pop into my mind. In contrast to my family's large cuisine, I settled on a small meal consisting of Madras sauce and chips on the side, whilst my meal was in low quantity, the flavour still delivered, and it was in short, heavenly. For multiple years ongoing, I have had a weekly curry and by far this was one of, if not the greatest. The vibrant sauce's consistency can only be described as perfect, and ontop of this, it had a powerful yet pleasant afterburn. The Madras was also decorated as if an architect for food was in the kitchen. If I was required to pick one dish to have for the remainder of my life, this delicacy would be it. The chips provided were the perfect food to be dipped into the Madras, a simple yet easy on the tongue platter, universally loved by the population, I'd also like to address that the amount of chips for the relatively good price was fantastic. My family also highlighted how flawless their meals were, a recurring factor outlining the quality of food. The cleanliness of the restaurant could also share the description of "perfect."" As I looked around the room occasionally I could not spot a singular problem, unlike other restaurants I've been too, any forms of filth were taken care of with haste, tables from messy customers are spotless in a blink of an eye. Finally, the staff were dilligant, jolly as well as humourous, leaving good jokes and/or statements with wonderful timing. Highly recommend stopping by to admire the effort they put in to ensure you have an impeccable time.

What a fabulous evening. This is a lovely restaurant. The menu has a lot of choice and everything was absolutely delicious. The paneer tikka was amazing. Service was attentive, friendly and very efficient. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They also gave us some extra treats, very much appreciated. The prices are very fair, everything about this place is great. Will keep coming back!

We use this take away for a weekend curry regularly. They produce the best Chicken Jalfrezi I’ve had anywhere among 30+ countries. Very friendly people and excellent service. I cannot recommend them too highly.

How refreshing to find an Asian restaurant that does it more than a little differently, but also does it better! So you have to take your own booze, if booze is your thing. That’s the first difference that makes it seem a real Asian restaurant, however the staff will chill your wine or beer if necessary , they just won’t sell you alcohol. The menu is different to most Asian establishments in that it’s a set menu for three courses. When we went the basic menu was £22 which is very good value. There were four of us and we had a few extras but it did add hugely to the total bill. From the moment we walked in the staff were attentive and professional as well as super friendly. They talked us through the menu, advising where necessary and then kept us topped up with our drinks. The food in each of the three courses was exceptional. Tasty, wholesome and filling. Zamana knocks spots off the other Asian options in town, we each hoped they would continue to maintain this level of service and food excellence. The chef came out to speak to us, informing us more about their background and experience and we, all four of us, wish them every success in Carmarthen, it is truly deserved!

Used to be great. Lately gone downhill. Food was like rubber and tasted like dog food. Chips were good, onion bahjies were all battered, think they forgot the onion part. Tikka kebab was like rubber dog food. 6 months ago would have been 5 stars. Sorry guys

Great restaurant. Caters to local tastes, which may result in milder and sweeter than expected, but quality food and friendly service.
