Shaan Tandoori Takeaway in Carmarthenshire

Our family favourite! We have used the Shaaan Tandoori weekly for many, many years and it’s consistently good quality: Delicious food and good portions. Zaeed knows us when we phone in our order and always looks after us well.

Superb food. We've been coming here for years now and the meals are wonderful. Quality and flavours are excellent, very generous portions. By far the best around and the best I've had in the many places I've lived. I usually get the specials and the flavoured rices over the standard ones, some favourites are chicken tikka dopiaza, kochi chicken, special fried rice, coconut rice. And sides and starters like chicken chat, samosa and mushroom bhaji. Thank you Shaan Tandoori, we'll keep coming back!

Opnieuw een bezoekje gebracht aan shaan tandoori,intussen een vaste stek geworden vr ons. Heerlijk eten,vriendelijke bediening,gewoon top!!!

Supervriendelijk,superlekker,heel goede prijs kwaliteitverhouding,dus een zekere aanrader!!! Eentje om op ons lijstje vn favoriete restaurants te zetten!!

Such a shame The Shann was our Indian takeaway of choice, many previous visits have been really good. Today was not one of those times, three mains , the chicken bhuna and jalfresi were okay but the korma was craggy mire coconut than spice. The tarka dahl was really terrible it was like green soup, no real taste. Let's face it how much do lentils cost not a lot. The raita was inedible, the yoghurt was off and had split no, no spice flavouring and batons of cucumber. For the 2 cheapest to make dishes to be so awful does not make me feel comfortable that much effort was being made. Lovely front of house staff such a shame the chefs were left wanting. If I lived nearer I would have gone back but it had been a VERY long day out on the farm. Sorry Shann 😞 disappointed and won't be coming back . 3 mains, 1 rice, 2 nann, dahl and tarka oh and chips that were a bit dry £45 😱

Very hit and miss this time...chips were very dry and seemed like they had been warmed up/re cooked a few times...thats one of the problems of having an early meal I guess...yesterdays leftovers. The onion bahji and naan bread were also quite dry too The chat starter, which used to be excellent here and the best we have ever tasted wasnt far short of a madras in terms of spicyness... However, the other two meals were very good and enjoyed by our guests. I hope this was a 'one off' as the Shaan used to be the best takeaway in the area. I believe it is under new ownership.

Ridiculous LONG wait for food !!!!!!!! Avoid as it will ruin your evening !! Ordered food at 7pm for 8.30, still waiting outside along with many other people at 9.30!! When asked how long each time told 10 minutes!! And not even a discretionary discount offer for HUGE INCONVENIENCE!! Shouldn’t be so greedy with taking more and more orders without the capabilities of getting the orders which they have already taken done ! I will never go there again!!

We use this takeaway at least 2 times a month. The food is out of the world. We sometimes vary what we have however usually have the tandoori mixed grill (meat is amazing), chicken passanda, mugali biryani special and mushroom rice. Sometimes our daughters will have too. We usually get bored or fed up with using one takeaway however have been going there now for years. Very friendly staff too and reasonably priced. We usually get a free naan bread and onion bhaji too. To be balanced my only moans are they don't deliver and don't take card payments however that won't stop us using it and just delays the alcohol being drunk.

Told it would take an hour arrived on time once I paid then the order went into kitchen. 50 mins later after revived food when got it home it was cold. At least 6 of us waiting outside all stating the same. Won't be using them again and a shame as they used to be good

Food very nice, usually have the chicken tikka kebab, only compaint is the wait, though not too bad, usually about 10 minutes later than told.

Amazing food tonight from the Shaan Ammanford. We had a Tandoori chicken Biryani, a Chicken Pasanda for the kids and a Kahari Ghost with Samosas to start. The Kahari Ghost was outstanding but everything was on point.

Friendly, polite, helpful ordering. Well presented, generous portions of good, flavoursome food and good value. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Food was stunning, portion sizes were huge, prices were reasonable. Would highly recommend. Was a little bit of a wait, but put that down to them being very popular and us ordering at a busy time.

Had a recent takeaway from here ordered by telephone and was given collection time. Went to pick up at appointed time but then had to wait 30 mins not satisfactory. In saying that food was very good.

The food is excellent. Four of has all had different dishes and there wasn't a dud among them. It isn't the cheapest, but it is still good value for the quality of food you get. Take away only, but food was ready when they said it would be. Well packaged so it was still hot when we got back to our holiday cottage 25 minutes away. Would definitely recommend.

Food is good as long as you're prepared to wait an hour for your takeaway ! This is the third time I've been given a time to collect my pre-ordered takeaway and still had to wait near enough an hour for it.

This take away once stood as one of the very best Ammanford had to offer but in recent years I felt the quality of food and taste has taken a bit of a nose dive. It now seems to be hit or miss on whether you get a great meal or a tasteless one. I used to always loved the tandoori kebabs and hope that some day in the future they can find their feet and can consistantly deliver the the top quality food they were once known for. I wish the best for the future. I will probably return eventually in the future.

I love this take away. Food is very tasty, each dish is quite distinct in taste. Portions are massive and the service is always efficient and friendly.

All made with fresh produce with friendly staff large menus. Easy to order over phone. Easy to park car.

Been coming here for 30 years, unbeatable as have tried most in Swansea, Morriston and LLanelli and always come back here. Dhansak and Muli are delicious.

Always have a great meal from here. Staff are great and always check if you like a bit of heat etc. They also do a cheeky Chicken Tikka Kebab served in a Nan bread of your choice. (it’s very filling)

Shaan never disappoints. Highly recommend this place for a takeaway. Been coming here for years and never disappoints

The last two meals we have had from here have not been a patch on previous offerings. Can only assume different people are in charge. Such a pity as this used to be the best Indian food I'd ever had.

I would recommend to anyone to try shaan, the best indian takeaway by far in the area, we drive from carmarthen, have tried all the local indian takeaway/ resteraunts in the area and shaan is worth the drive. We have tried a number of differance items from the menu and all have been delishous favourites being the chicken tikka dhansak and the onion bhaji. Well done to the chef

I have been here four times over the last year. The food is very good . It would be very good for a restaurant but for a takeaway it is even better.

My partner is a vegetarian, we ordered a dish only a few know how to make, it was a Korma with fruit, very well made, very tasty, happy to reccomend

Really good food here , only draw back is that you do have to wait a while. Always worth the wait though.

Yet again, a fabulous curry with perfect rice and a lovely naan bread. I have never been disappointed here.

In my opinion the best Indian in ammanford. Busy more or less every time I order/ go to collect. The lamb tikka is the nicest I've tasted. my favourite dish in the Shaan is the balti would definitely recommend it.

I can't complain about the food as it's always nice but what I will complain about is the service. Was told on Saturday that pick up time would be 45-50 minutes. My husband goes in to collect it after the 50 minutes, it's not ready ! He waited another 25 minutes for them to bring it out !! When my husband told them how long he'd been waiting, all the man said was "yes" that's it !!! No apology, nothing. He was tamping, any other indian would be polite and say sorry or at least give you complimentary poppadoms or something ! It's a real shame as the food is good but sort your service out, please !

Always a good meal to be had, lovely tasty food. Large selection on the menu something for everyone! Never had any complaints.

Nos gusta mucho este indio la comida siempre es bueno, siempre es una opción de nuestra calle para una comida para llevar. Sólo me hubiera gustado que trajeran.

Así que pensé que iba a probar este establecimiento por un cambio, los comentarios de un buen leer, así que ¿por qué no? Bien, voy a decirles por qué no, caro, insípido, frío, bastante pesado, basura, necesito seguir. Entiendo que fue muy concurrida, esta tarde, pero espera 45 minutos para la comida es un poco extremo. La única razón por la que finalmente me dieron mi comida fue cuando me preguntó dónde estaba. Al volver a casa, me di cuenta de que la comida debe haber estado sentado en el mostrador de vuelta por un buen rato.

Menú variado - toda la comida estaba caliente fresco y delicioso, no puedo recomendar lo suficiente. Que no ofrecen un servicio de entrega (probablemente porque siempre tan ocupados).

I moved to the area recently and heard a lot of good things about 'shaans'. Normally one to opt for Chinese follow over Indian it took some convincing from my partner to try shaans. Let's just say I'm converted. Our order of choice is Saag boti saag alloo Pilau rice Chicken pathia Pashwary naan.

This takeaway is better by far than some restaurants. I live in Manchester but would definitely order from the Shaan on every trip home to Ammanford.

I would drive miles just for their chicken korma and tikka masala. Decent price, not overpriced. Mmm

I am really fussy with curry, but yet again I have not been disappointed! Beautiful chicken tikka masala- probably the best I have ever had, lovely rice and a fantastic peahwari naan. Will definitely be eating from here again

This was our first visit to shamanTandoori, it will not be our last! The menu is vast, we went for a set meal for two, made two small changes without any problems, and had enough food for at least three people. The best takeaway curry ever!

Have been a regular customer of Shaan for many years and having eaten in many Indian restaurants all over the UK and Europe, I can honestly say that Shaan's food is in my Top 3 !! (The other two are located in Portugal and the Netherlands!!!) I always recommend here to all my friends and acquaintances and hope that the standards are kept to this very high level of quality food. And the prices aren't bad either.

We've been visiting the Shaan for several years now and each time I grow less impressed with each visit, especially our last fee visits. The curry itself is very tasty however the chips are always soggy and overcooked, as is the naan bread. I've also NEVER had my order on time and they are usually running on average 25 minutes late, sometimes even longer. The gentleman on the front desk is also very arrogant who clearly does not want to be there.We tried another Indian very close by this weekend and I really noticed the difference in quality and service so we unfortunately will now be making the switch to the other establishment.

Had a nice takeaway here but I have noticed that when you order the same takeaway that the prices are never consistent, on the weekends they are very very busy and the waiting times can almost be an hour or over.

Best take away resturant ever, the flavours in there food is remarkable and plenty of it.Cannot fault them :-)

Good takeaway. Varied menu. Staff always very pleasant. Well worth the wait. Busy on weekends so best to order in plenty of time for your particular eating time. Excellent food. Always hot. Always have a good meal.

I am very choosy with curry and I had an outstanding curry here, coupled with very good rice and the best peshwari naan I ever had! Highly recommend

Just finished another curry - superb, as usual. Been going there for years - never had a bad meal. Staff are always extremely friendly too.

Sublime Indian cuisine. Cooked to order unlike some restaurant takeaways which use the same base sauce for all dishes. Meat samosas and tandoori chicken are personal favourites.

Just had a takeaway for 4, very nice food, plenty of chicken, medium curry as it should be, huge amount of chips, all in all very tasty - will go again

Absolutely love this place. Even when we moved out of the immediate area we would often jump in the car and drive the 25 miles each way to collect our order as nothing near us compared. And now we are back we always make sure we have our quota per month. Love their Chicken Dansak, Madras and Tikka Massala to name but a few.
