The best restaurants serving Indian food in Purbeck South West

Food wasn’t very tasty. All bland. Shame as it used to be very good.

Extremely good experience here with a takeaway. We had about 8 dishes and they were all lovely. Service was prompt, polite, informative and friendly. It was all piping hot and ready in almost exactly the time they said it would be ready - around 25 minutes for freshly cooked food is about perfect. Only one gripe: the food was not particularly spicy, we had one chef’s special and one “medium” and both were somewhat less hot than we are used to. Starters were really good though, the veg samosa’s a particular delight. Thanks!

We went to this restaurant also in December on the 29th 2024 and yes it was quiet only three tables but having spent the night in the town every where was quiet. Despite this we had the most wonderful time, six of us ate super food served by the family who run this lovely restaurant and the father cooks. We come from London and have had many good Indian meals and this was up there with the best … you should try you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing food and service is always top tier! This place has recently became the go to and weekly travel over half an hour just due to the fact locals food not being on par 😬 The restaurant is always warm along with a warm welcome by the staff, the food is to die for and can highly recommend the duck! Farzana the waiter/bar maid is extremely polite, pretty and helpful with anything and everything we’ve ever needed! Couldn’t recommend enough and would put more stars if there was the option 😃

Definitiely different chef on from the good one. Good portions but disappointing. Only Tarka Dal tasted good. So many dishes - tasteless and no spice. MSG in food? Felt a bit sick next day. Different waiting staff on from usual - no english at all, like a deer in headlights - felt sorry for him. Golden Bengal has gone down in quality and experience. What a shame.
