The best restaurants serving French food in Glasgow City Glasgow and Surrounding

A new restaurant in the area since we were here last. It was a last minute booking but they managed to squeeze us in if we arrived early. The only problem for us was that the menu was full of great ‘different’ choices, and it was difficult to decide! I had the mushroom, leek, and white truffle soup, followed by the pork belly with some excellent accompaniments (I especially like the bean cassoulet), while my wife had a broccoli starter (I can’t remember all that was in it but she said it was so full of flavours) followed by the smoked haddock which she claims is the best smoked haddock she has ever tasted , and we know our fish! No licence so we took our own wine and they offered to keep the white wine in the fridge and be served as and when, or in a cooler at the table. Iced water was automatic. Presentation superb, service was impeccable, and the chef took time out to chat. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out - it’s superb - we will be back!

Shared my 80th birthday celebration here with friends and family. Delicious food and wines, perfect venue and ambiance, and delightful staff. Really enjoyed dining here.

Having never been here before and after reading great reviews about Cote, I decided to book this for my friend and I. On arrival, we were seated immediately at a table under the air conditioning. At first, we welcomed this as it was warm outside, but by the time we left, we were both very cold. For us, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. On the downside, we didn’t think the portion sizes were adequate for main courses and our dauphinoise potatoes didn’t stay warm for long. Dessert was a very disappointing size wise if I’m honest but it was delicious. We had a bottle of wine and a cocktail each. Don’t make the mistake we made and add service charge on as it has already been added on.

We ordered 2 drinks at the bar, a female worker came and said one customer didn’t pick up their drink and asked if we would like it. We paid and left the bar then was chased down the street by a male worker told that we left without paying our tab, and our bill was $35. She lied that she didn’t give a free drink and tried to cover for herself, making us look like we walked out without paying for our tab. Would not recommend, especially for tourists.

Improvement to quality of food , cleanliness of toilets and staff approach towards customer required as a matter of urgency.

Overpriced, inedible cakes and rude staff. This might be the West End, but why put up with this just because the location is good? There are far better options everywhere in town.

Well what can I say we arrived we did not feel welcomed told we had to pay £5 parking a night hotel decor a bit tied but the room clean . we were going to leave tomorrow and lose the money for the second nights stay but after dinner in the restaurant and talking to Sydney and Scott they changed our option of the hotel we felt welcomed. We are not leaving tomorrow and we are going to have dinner in the hotel tomorrow night again. And this is all down to Sydney and Scott. If Sydney had been the person on reception we might have felt more welcomed
