We have visited the Game Cock on a number of occasions for a quick half (or two) after a walk but never eaten. Can't believe we have missed out for so long on the fabulous food here. Lovely cosy friendly pub with amazing staff. We will be back x

An amazing restaurant, located in a beautiful area of the country. The staff are fantastic, knowledgeable and so friendly. The attention to detail in the food preparation is second to none. If you are ever wondering what that food tastes like on MasterChef, then come to The Angel at Hetton. The culinary tastes blew my mind. We had the A La Carte menu. It wasn't just three courses. There's far more to it than that! The accommodation is high quality, beautifully presented and very spacious. No, it isn't cheap to experience The Angel, but if a culinary experience is what you are looking for, very friendly staff, an amazing chef and beautiful accommodation, then look no further.

We met up for a meal at the Bistro last Wednesday evening. As always we were made very welcome and the service throughout was excellent. I love the extra touches and they are very accommodating. We all really enjoyed our meals. Although a service charge was added we were told that we could have it removed which I think is reasonable. I will definitely recommend the Bistro to others.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING in every respect from service to food - disgraceful customer service, rude staff, overpriced menu & shocking food quality. Recently moved to Bolton Abbey, won't be visiting The Devonshire again. We have sourced wonderful alternative venues within a 5 mile radius of Bolton Abbey that we will be returning to
