Mullins Coffee Shop

Dorking North, Mole Valley
19/08/2018: A s visitors from Southampton we had lunch at this cafe primarily because of its associations with the Mayflower and the Pilgrim Fathers ( who had sailed from Southampton before they stopped off in Plymouth ), and were very pleased with both the food, the service and the decor/ambience of this small coffee-shop. We did not try any of the home-made cakes displayed on the counter, but they looked superb. The Mayflower connection is well documented on a wall display and on each table's placemat. A member of staff took great pains to supply us with a hard-copy of this. The whole ambience is one of a neat, clean coffee-shop with an excellent range of light meals and superb service.
29/07/2018: Historic and friendly with good sized portions, we enjoyed a breakfast and warm welcome here on a Sunday in May. Would recommend.

Phil You Up

Leatherhead North, Mole Valley
01/11/2018: Opted for a cheeseburger with extra fillings (egg and avocado yummy!)
19/10/2018: Upon the discovery of PhilYouUp the old Tesco meal deal has become a thing of the past! The smell as you drive past B&Q; is enough to drag you in , then whichever tasty delight you choose will bring you back to willingly try the rest of the menu. The best around and does what it says on the tin!

Royal Oak

Holmwoods, Mole Valley, <20£
28/10/2018: Booked here as its halfway for meeting our friends. Great choice ! Had a beautiful welcome and was immediately shown to our table. The lady serving us was very friendly and very good in dealing with our requests. We had beef and lamb roasts between us and they were all served hot, the roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding were beautiful. We had Sticky Toffee puddings and Lemon Meringue which were to die for. Will definitely return! Great place, great food with even better service with a smile.
26/05/2018: We popped in for lunch. Great menu. The couple who run this pub are so friendly & lovely, it’s like home from home. Ploughman’s was delicious. Recommended to all.

British Raj

Beare Green, Mole Valley
01/10/2018: Visited The British Raj to celebrate my wife's birthday.
17/08/2018: The sparkly lights on the ceiling set the mood as soon as we entered. The food was sublime, British Raj lived up to its reputation. I had a goan curry and my partner the Shatkhora curry. 5/5

Red Bar & Lounge

Dorking South, Mole Valley, 20-30£
13/11/2018: We arrived at 12 noon just as the restaurant was opening by a very cheerful staff member we were asked if we wanted to eat and were shewn to a well furnished table in a quiet and comfortable area of the eatery.
04/11/2018: I recently dropped in for Sunday lunch with a friend. We were the first table seated. Due to an issue with the ovens we were advised that we probably wouldn't be served our food for at least 45 minutes. Being in no hurry that was fine. It turned out to be more like an hour. The staff were very apologetic, The food was lovely when it finally came. Our drinks and dessert were taken off the bill. Things can occasionally go wrong anywhere. How the staff deal with it will always make the difference as to whether the customer will return and I definitely will. One of my favourite places to eat.

Viva

Dorking North, Mole Valley, 20-30£
21/09/2018: Although we were the only ones in this lovely restaurant (it was Friday at noon), the setting and food was lovely. I had read other reviews about the Calzone and it didn't disappoint. My daughter had the salmon pasta and my wife had the chicken & mushroom taglatelli - both were lovely. We were too full to try a pudding! I would imagine evenings would be very popular. It is quite a large restaurant inside but seems homely with separated areas and an outside area for sunny days. We were served by a friendly waitress called Barbara. We will definitely eat here again.
19/09/2018: Viva remains the best restaurant in Dorking. It offers excellent quality food at competitive prices. The staff are keen to please and makes for an enjoyable experience .

Allsaints, Leatherhead

Bookham North, Mole Valley
06/10/2018: So if you are heading clockwise on the M25 and want great coffee and cheap petrol drop off the M25 at Junction 9 where you can access cheap petrol at Tesco Leatherhead and great coffee at All Saints - on the later parking can be a challenge in their small car park but its worth finding for the quality of service , coffee and knowing that you are supporting a local Social Enterprise
11/08/2018: What a brilliant coffee shop, It's approx 3 minutes from J9 of the M25 (with its own car park), great place to stop off - beats services any day! The building is an old converted church, really spacious with nice atmosphere. Staff were really friendly, coffee and food was great (we had the brekkie panini), cakes and sweet treats looked delicious. My children (7) really like it too. I don't live anywhere near so won't be a regular but I certainly will make a point of stopping off here on journeys round the M25 in future. It's a youth project too, so great place to support!

The Red Lion

Brockham, Betchworth and Buckland, Mole Valley
29/10/2018: Thank to Marc and work wife "Charlotte" together with amazing chefs and staff. They know how to treat guests in a vibrant relaxed atmosphere where customers are treated like old friends. The hospitality and service is second to none - they cannot do enough for you including popping to the local deli for a further choice of cheese! The menu is varied and everything was cooked to perfection - after being banned from ordering medium rare steak at restaurants by family and friends as it is never properly cooked and ends up being returned I queried the chefs ability - like normal I was assured that it would be perfect so three of us ordered the fillet steak - and my oh my it was indeed perfect and delicious - it was the best I have ever enjoyed outside of our kitchen - we had a wonderful night of the most perfectly presented and delicious food, unrivalled by the ambience, friendly staff and being able to pick the music being played, together with a boogie as Marc created a make shift dance area - It is a night with friends that none of us will ever forget - a wonderful memory created by all at The Red Lion - so good we returned for lunch the next day and again were treated like royalty. Thank you all so much and "we will be back" and we cannot wait!
27/10/2018: Had a brilliant evening, thanks to Marc and his ‘work wife’ who created a lovely atmosphere and worked hard to ensure we had an evening to remember. Food was superb and service faultless. We will be back for the pub tour - can’t wait!!!

Denbies Vineyard Restaurant

Mickleham, Westhumble and Pixham, Mole Valley
29/10/2018: We dined yesterday.I had booked for 6 people a few months ago, unfortunately one of our party was ill and couldn't join us - much to my relief this was no problem when I informed the staff on arrival (thought I might have had to pay a cover charge). The restaurant is a fantastic venue with views of the beautiful surrounding countryside and vines. We were not hurried and spent a considerable time chatting over coffee after the meal. We all chose the two course meal which both the starter and main course were tasty and delightfully presented. we had two bottles of wine and one soft drink - also plenty of tap water! The staff and ambiance were lovely. The only reason for not scoring higher was that (as explained by the waiter when two of us wanted rare roast beef and two wanted well done) they would do their best to accommodate our wishes, but due to the way it was cooked that this was difficult. The bill which we divided between 5 worked out at £40 each which included the tip.
02/10/2018: My daughter had spent a great day here with a large group of friends for her birthday and decided she would like to take us to lunch. Wheelchair access is fine even if the disabled parking spaces aren't well signed. Lunch itself was excellent, particularly the smoked salmon starter. Service was consistently attentive even though the restaurant filled up. Views from the restaurant were great. Worth a return visit.

Super Dish

Dorking North, Mole Valley
02/08/2018: I was brought up in Dorking but hadn't been into Super Dish for years. Passing through tonight my wife and I decided to go in for dinner. Our experience was genuinely brilliant. Apart the fact that the interior hasn't changed at all since I was a teenager (and still very clean), the service from all the staff was polite and friendly, especially the boss lady and the charming waitress. Our fish was light with perfect batter, the chips were golden and had clearly been cooked in very clean oil. Portion sizes were generous and all the food and drinks very reasonably priced. We shall make a point of coming again the next time we are in town!
31/07/2018: I was working locally with a group of guys and everyone was getting peckish. Most fancied fish and chips which meant driving into town.It was getting on for 2pm so I had my doubts anywhere would be open.Luckily Superdish was open and the owner quickly supplied 8 portions of fish and chips along with a few cold cans of drink. All the guys said the meal was very good.As the owner packed them in a box with tin foil everything was still nice and hot.Thanks.
