The best restaurants serving Default food in Menai (Caernarfon) Gwynedd North Wales

After an exhilarating climb up Mount Snowdon, Celtic Royal Hotel & Spa proved to be the perfect place to unwind. The hotel offers spacious, well-appointed rooms, providing plenty of comfort after a long day outdoors. The entire property is spotlessly clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. Ample parking spaces made arriving hassle-free, which is a great plus for those traveling by car. Stayed for one night in May 2025, and it was exactly the relaxing retreat needed after the adventure on Snowdon. Would highly recommend for those looking for a comfortable and well-kept hotel in Caernarfon!

Lady behind the reception wouldn't give the access code to enter the car park to charge our electric car although it states they will on the charging point. Nobody was parked in any of the electric spaces, I wonder why. Shame as the park opposite would have been perfect for our son and for us to have a few drinks and food. Certainly lost custom.

During my recent visit, the early evening meal was of a very high standard.. Especially the dessert - mixed fruit crumble with ice cream..

The chocolate eclairs sell out so quickly so you need to go early to get the best there. Lovely staff especially Karen who cannot do enough to help you.

Usual spoons standard, value for money and healthy options with a good selection of alcohol free beers, drinks left on the bar for a while after ordering but to be fair they were very busy.

Just had a takeaway from this Restaurant, chicken and sweetcorn soup was like water, salty and hardly and chicken and sweetcorn in it. At 6.80 it wasn't worth it. Followed by special fried rice, I always thought that fried rice was supposed to be dry, the rice was very wet, again like water. No taste, never had fried rice like that before. Again for the price that was paid it was very disappointing😞

Went for breakfast yesterday good value & the staff are a credit so polite smiling & curtious . Food fresh & hot .

Went there with wife after shopping for cup of coffee and something to eat..ordered 2 slices of fried bread (asked for thin or normal sized bread ,but was told only thick bread available..ii found that quite amazing for a supermarket ) wife had bowl of chips which were almost cold and looked anything but appetizing ....the fried bread was absolutely dripping(excuse the pun) with grease,so much so that picking a piece up left me with grease running down my wrist ..neither of us ate what we ordered to put it mildly it was just pigslop and thats being kind...dirty cups ,uncleared tables didnt help. if theres a worse cafe around i sincerely hope i dont find it.....-10 out of 10

This is by far, the best Chinese I've ever had. The chicken chow mein is to die for. As for the chicken satay, I just want more! I would drive back to Wales any time, just for a portion of Gold Lion!

Alana is a scam artist. Sends damaged squashed and disgusting cakes and then refuses to refund, would not order again from these people

Do not visit unless you have a lot of time to spare. 5 cars took 20 minutes! Only 2 staff in the building.
